I was in the market for a new office chair and came across this through my google searches. I am guessing this is suppose to be for Telstra employees however I was able to order one yesterday and they have already provided tracking for my order.

              • @h1de: When these arrive into stock in late June you can order them as a part via the website. Please look back later.

          • @watwatwat: Probably the order confirmation email would make sense to a Telstra employee because the email is based off the template for Telstra employees.

        • Just a note, website says "Leap time 9-11 weeks."

        • Is it possible to cancel the order and get a refund? Needed it sooner.

  • From order to delivery less than 24 hours. Brisbane here. The delivery guy was quite nice.

Thank you for the kind feedback. Much appreciated. We had a limited number of stock available and have been able to dispatched to some customers like yourself. We are doing out best to speed up the standard delivery time frame for all orders.

      • Hello, will you be stocking the Series 1 at all, or have you moved exclusively to the Series 2?

      • When another offer like this comes by, can you post it here. I would be interested in getting one. It's sold out now from what I can see. Or its expired

          • @Ronney: That's $170 pricier than the deal linked here

            • @maverickjohn: true. However this deal is not for the public but for Telstra employees. The Telstra chairs are ordered in bulk direct from Malaysia to the port closest to the delivery address thus saving a portion of shipping & handling costs. That also means there would be a significant wait times depending on where you want it delivered. That might be the reason a few QLD folks got their chair delivered within days while folks from VIC and NSW are waiting for their delivery.
The current price on their website is still a good price. Though the website says shipping is from July, call then up and they might actually have a few chairs available for immediate delivery.

  • Tried the Leap V2 in a showroom and also the Herman Miller Aeron + Mirra 2 + Embody.

Wow the Leap feels cheap compared to the Mirra 2. The lumbar was already stuffed and recline mechanism was also sticky/not smooth. Representative mentioned these weren't super old demos, but that they'd been moved around a lot - but for a $1k chair, I would be expecting much greater longevity than this.

Not impressed with the quality of the materials or mechanisms.

  • I wonder if these chairs will also be affected by the shipping delays in China. Maybe if coming from Malaysia it will skip China but may still be impacted?

The people who bought the aerons etc. were advised:

"Unfortunately Living Edge have been advised of further and ongoing shipping delays out or China.

We have recently been advised of another COVID-19 outbreak in the Guangdong district. This has shut down the shipping line without notice and our containers never left."

I don't know why anyone would waste their money on this over the Aeron,
ya the Aeron cost more but ill last u 10yr and still feel brand new

In 1-2 year the leap seat will compress and will feel like ur sitting on a wooden plank.

    • We'll see. It seems like they are similarly rated but $710 is a very decent chunk cheaper delivered to the aeron.

      • The seat on the leap looks too thin, it's even thinner than the V1.

I tried to buy the thickest office chair I could find that was rated for 8hr use,
but in 4yr the foam compress so much u can feel the base plate now.
It's the unfortunate nature of foam seats.

Also don't know if the leap also comes will a lifetime warranty like the Aeron.
$710 is a lot but Aeron's have insane resell value u will get back at least 50% if it in decent condition.

  • has everyone received their Leaps yet?
    curious to hear feedback.

    • Nope, ordered on the 13/05. Hopefully receive it this month

    • No. If they stick to their timeline, should be in the next few weeks.

Hopefully they are entering the country soon..

    • No, as the others said, hopefully this month they are due in. Haven't had any communication that it is delayed either.

    • noooppppppeeee

    nope…. still waiting

  • In way of an order update, your Steelcase Leap chair has been allocated to a container arriving into Sydney port on the 3rd August due to a small delay in shipping from Malaysia.

It's good to get an update.

Well at least they aren't traveling through Suez Canal.

    • delayed further til late august to arrive at Australia rn. wtf.

      • Yeah bs, there last email said the chairs were on sea

        • +1

Man, maybe all of our monies are out on a ship to sea.

          • @dandosr: This sucks. I'm sure many people would have not bought if they knew delay would be over 4 months.

@watwatwat: Hopefully my old clunker of a chair can hold together for 2 more months!

            • @watwatwat: As mentioned in the email, you are welcome to cancel your order should you wish to not wait any longer. These global events are out of anyone's control and we regret that this is the situation. Please contact ARKI should you require any assistance with your order.

@watwatwat: I am a customer and this is my understanding.

This was not a sale. The sale was advertised on their website and I ordered from there and got my order delivered within 2 days.

This deal was a private deal for Telstra employees. The chairs were meant to be bulk ordered for a particular city. Only after enough orders come through would they place the order and get them delivered straight to the closest port.

I think they had some stock in Brisbane and you can see that a few folks who ordered using this link from Brisbane got their chairs delivered straightaway. However for other states, they would not ship from Brisbane but would wait for stock to arrive directly to that city.

Ideally they should not have allowed non Telstra employees from ordering using this link. That would have prevented all this misunderstanding.

      • I got a text today saying mine is arriving tomorrow. Quite unexpected as I hadn't heard anything since ordering.

Received mine today. Well worth the wait.

lol this ozbargain post keeps locking due to inactivity because I guess it wasn't anticipated deals would take 4 months to eventuate.

Fingers crossed that this gets delivered in the next few weeks.

    • lol - I gave up and requested refund a while ago.

      • I'm paying 5% interest on a margin loan so $940 in the hands of Steelcase for this duration has already cost me $15.51 in interest. So I'm hoping to at least get the product. ;)

    Yeah looks like early Sept

    • Any minute now :P

mine just arrive today in Melbourne.

    • Did you receive any notification that it arrived, or was on its way? Or it just showed up?

  • +1

Mine arrived yesterday in Melbourne too. Took long enough but very satisfied with the chair :)

    • Cool. At least that confirms the shipment has finally reached Australia.

I got an automated email from Arki on the same morning saying that my order has been arranged to be delivered. My order date was May 18, if that helps.

        • Thank you for that, I'm excited to get mine, this old chair is really stretching its last legs with these delays (-:

  • Yah
"Your chairs have landed and leaving us tomorrow to be transferred to our Sydney warehouse - ETA early next week."

We really appreciate your sense of humor at this extended wait time. If you can advise ARKI of your order number, we will make sure we give you a personal update on your eta. Would hate to see you waste away like that.
