We've got this and it's great, just now the handle starts to go loose after a while, but you can easily tighten the two screws below the handle to fix it.

Having to constantly retighten the screws is a pain

      • +2

Not sure who negged your comment, but I agree. It is a pain when it gets loose and then the handle wobbles a bit, then having to find the screw driver to tighten. I have to tighten them every 2 - 4 weeks. But my expectation is that the screws are not coming loose within the first year at all.

        • Maybe yours has a defect from factory, I'll return it under warranty. I've used mine for 2 years now and the handle is fine.

      Loctite it?

      • if you are the real sticky fingers, I (profanity) love you guys!! and if you're not I still love you ;)

  • I got this for $10 from Amazon a couple of weeks back but returned it because I didn't realise that it maxed out at 30cm. Measure your cookware!

    • I have a 30cm frying pan (measured to inside rim, therefore roughly 31cm when factoring in the rim - I assume this would be a no-go?

      • +3

Can confirm it works fine with a 30cm Tefal Pan.

Don't be surprised if you receive your lid deformed or bent. The lid itself is not very strong (soft metal) and will be easily bent/dented/chipped by careless couriers. This is from personal experience. For the trouble, might as well go into a Myer (usually plenty of stock of this lid) and pick one out that's in reasonable "new" condition

just contract amazon and they’ll prob credit it if damaged.

        • +1

I'm sure they will. Depending on the damage, you may not be able to use it damaged. You'll have to buy again! I love Prime myself but I'm just saying shipping this product has risks due to the lack of packaging it usually comes with.

          • +2

@assailantsky: Stuff sold directly by Amazon is generally packed in another box if sent through parcel post. In any case they will send you a new one (unless there is no stock) and returns are painless.

          • @assailantsky: So they will resend you one for free. No issue. They also overpackage everything in big boxes and stuffing.

    Tefal Multi Size Lid

Isn't any lid multi size if it is bigger that all of your saucepans?

    • Exactly..

This lid is flat and groved at various diameters so the lid stays in place and form a good seal. It's not going to slide off/around like most oversized lids.

    we got this instead:
    https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/klockren-lid-silicone-00449194/
    https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/klockren-universal-lid-set-of-3…

We found them easier to handle as they are lighter and easy to wash and hang it in a wall/stack them together.

    • thanks for the tip mate! I'll get one of them

I got two problems with this:

    1. It doesn't seal (comparing with the ones that have a rubber ring);
    2. It's flat. Sometimes I steam stuff in the wok. So the traditional arch lid gives more space to put in a steamer.

If you are a true wok user you would never even think of using this as a lid.

      • Yup true

      • You mean a wok user would not use this, or would not use this as a lid?

  • nice got one

  • It's on Amazon for the same price with free shipping

  • Picked mine up today, don't know why regular Myer gift cards can't be used online though!
