  • Warranty will be so troublesome with this. Last year I bought a white Dualshock and it had a ghost movement on the right wheel, got it replaced. Didn't touch it for over a year and the replacement has the same issue right out of the box and I'm stuck with it.

Are Matt Blatt selling fake controllers now?

Appears by photo to be official. But it's Kogan. That alone should stop you from buying from them with all the horror stories of late.

Also this controller is refurbished - see my comment below (edit Mods have amended the title)

    • That is my initial thought

This is a refurbished controller. This detail is buried in the body and omitted from title which is misleading. $55 is too expensive. If you are looking for refurbished (which I would not recommend) here is cheaper for $47.99 delivered

For extra $8.62 you can get brand new delivered.

  • Kogan bought over Matt Blatt recently (within the last year or so) for information.

    • So weird. Far as I know, Matt Blatt used to do specialise in knock off designer furniture for cheap. Why the expansion into refurb gaming peripherals? Is any kind of brand name worth buying for it's residual google search hits? Just curious, but would love to hear the rationale from the Kogan people.

      • It's a third party seller they get a cut from. Similar to third party sellers selling stuff on Amazon's platform.

As Hybroid pointed out, I think Kogan / Dick Smith / Matt Blatt just share all the same items/marketplace, and I assume they're keeping all 3 websites open in case people prefer those brand names (ie. matt blatt, dick smith). You'll see Matt Blatt furniture on Kogan and Dick Smith websites too.

        • Comes in handy for us sometimes, though. With the last Latitudepay deal, you could get $30 off $100 spend at both kogan, and dicksmith.

Thanks. Yes i'm aware their all owned by Kogan, and it's effectively different get up on the same marketplace, but I just was curious from a business case perspective. Why bother? But I guess like you say, those brand names have some value and I suspect Kogan picked them up for very little money.

      • Matt Blatt went into liquidation last year or so, Kogan bought the rights to the branding for digital sales.

  • Not worth it at this price

  • At this price you're better chancing eBay Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace

  • Arent they like $60 or so Brand New?

  • Not sure how this could be a deal for refurbished (used but restored) when there are sales all the time for $50 or less brand new especially since its not considered the latest technology anymore either.
