    just beware that the overseas routers are tuned.. differently.. in terms of power..
    so not quite the same as buying local..
    Plenty of overseas people, use to set their locale to Aus.. to get better range.. with transmit power..
    its a bit unknown.. if you can get the aussie Asus firmware onto the UK routers… quite often.. they are now locked.. to stop this from happening..

    ?HAs anyone managed to do so.. on this unit..

      ASUS firmware is based on WRT; if the option didn't exist, you'd just go into the firmware and add it.
      Or pay someone on Fiverr to do it, if it's not your skill level.

    I bought this last Prime Day and it's been fantastic, my network now runs like a champ compared to the ISP equipment I had before. Local RRP is $499.

    Only downsides are that you need a basic plug adapter, and also I would have liked 2.5 Gbe, but that is on the RT-AX86U which only has 1 2.5Gbe port and costs $50 to $100 more. Also there are endless options and it takes slight, and I emphasise the slight, googling to figure out how to do some things.

    Zero UK vs Aus issues other than the plug adapter.

        Way better than the ISP router. I have a largeish apartment with a bunch of competing wifi networks and it powers 14 to 20 clients fine on 'balanced' (medium) 2.4 wifi power except for the furthest smart light around a corner that is non responsive maybe 20% of the time. If I push the network up to full power that light works 95%+ of the time, but I mostly don't bother and leave it at medium.

        Had plenty of responsiveness issues with my smart lights working with the TPG supplied router but no complaints of note about this one, and I'm good at complaining.

      Exactly the same as me. Bought it on Prime Day. Absolutely love it. Range is good. Speeds are as expected. LEDs are a fun little thing to play with.

      I'll just need to sell my Telstra one now.

          Don't know. Prices vary from $40 to $70. I'll probably chuck it on eBay with a buy it now for $60, but starting bid at $50.

          I hear Facebook is a good place to sell stuff, but I haven't really tried. Had bad experiences with Gumtree, so I'd rather sell things through eBay. They take commission, but I feel safer using them.
