This is a pretty good deal to be honest. Given the current situation with electronics shortages/covid. Pretty close what I paid for my C9 back in 2019. I know this is only the BX but given the drastic price difference, I would say this is the way to go. Most users probably won't see a difference.

    • Is the C9 better?

      • +2

Than the BX? Hard to say. I would imagine the average user would be hard pressed to tell a difference. There are a couple of update features on the X series that I cannot recall and I doubt they would make much of a difference. The most notable difference for me is the X series supports AMD Freesync as well as Nvidia G-SYNC for PC gaming. The 9 series only supports Nvidia G-SYNC.

        • Thank you.

        • It’s 55inch I agree it’s hard to tell unless your source is of low quality.

  • +1

Excellent price as there is very little difference between the BX and CX models. https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/lg-cx-oled-vs-lg-bx-…

    • +3

Just make sure you follow their calibration guide!

I thought my BX was dim as (profanity) until I applied rtings' settings.

    • Have you seen the HDR peak brightness? I wouldn't call that little difference.

  • How is this compared to the Hisense ones posted here which seems to have bigger size but lower price?

    • +7

This TV is OLED, the other is not. There will be a dramatic difference in picture quality of this one over the Hisense. Depends on your use case if you just watch free to air TV and stream youtube and things like that, the Hisense will suit you just fine. If you watch high quality movies, you will be hard pressed to find a better experience than an OLED TV. Due to OLED not having a backlight and it being able to illuminate each individual pixel, you get true blacks. The contrast between the blacks and the colours of phenomenal, it really makes the colours "pop". I believe the Hisense posted earlier is 8k as well, this is only 4k. At this point in time 8k is not worth it, not enough content out to fully enjoy it.

The LG is if picture quality is your number 1 priority over screen size and money.

    • +2

LG's webOS and magic remote are also both fantastic and after using it for a while, it's hard to go back.

Shame they haven't listed the 65"….

  • CX should have better speakers.

Imagine spending this much on a TV and using built-in speakers

    Can this do 4k 120hz?

    • +5

Yes, two of the four HDMI ports can do 4K @ 120Hz.

Update 11/03/2020: We updated the TV to firmware 3.11.20 and retested it with an HDMI 2.1 source. We confirmed HDMI 3 and 4 support HDMI 2.1.

HDMI ports 3 and 4 support HDMI 2.1 but not full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1. The LG BX only has 40Gbps ports capable of 4k @ 120Hz @ 4:4:4 10-bit instead of 48Gbps ports, which would be able to reach 12-bit, but we don't expect this to make any noticeable difference.

        Thank you!

I want to pull the trigger as I need this to replace my 2018 NU8000. I wonder what I would get for it on Gumtree ?

Which wall mount do people recommend for this screen? From what I read, it doesn’t have the standard VESA mounting holes.

    • Website says 300x200

  • +2

I'm confused. I thought there was only BX (older model) and newer CX. What's the C1/C9 model and how does it fit into the product stack??? Which is the best??

    • +2

LG OLED B8 to B9 to BX to possibly B1, given that the C-series is C8, C9, CX and now C1 (2021 model).

    • +2

      X = 10
BX and CX are newer generation compare to B9 and C9

  • +1

The B series had some horrible noise artifacting that the C series did not. Not sure if that was just the B9 or also BX though.

    • +2

B series, that’s some broad generalisation dude. B7, B8, B9…BX? Any links/evidence to provide more context? I’d be interested to know more.

      • I tested a 4k bluray remux and it had bad black noise in so many scenes

  • bought one. thanks.

This thing is THIN. Removing from the box and attaching the stand was scary — felt like it was going to shatter into a billion pieces any moment. Recommend having two people.
