Pepsi Vs Coke, Which Do You Prefer?

Which soft drink do you prefer drinking?

Poll seems hard to change, please think of Coke Zero as Coke No Sugar as the Zero is unattainable (Credits Loulou1)

Taste is different depending on if you drink the canned or bottled version. Glass bottles contain real cane sugar and taste the best.

Actually, I will email coke about this and ask. Might as well. Ill get back to you later this week after their response

          •

            @HumbleCat: Keep us updated

            •

@Soluble: Yeah I am keen to know. Like, what else are they using? High fructose corn syrup is only popular in the US because of the massive corn subsidies they have over there. Since Australia grows mostly Cane sugar it would make a lot of sense to use cane sugar by default.

The whole 'glass bottle coke tastes better because it uses real cane sugar' comes from the glass bottles sold in the US being imported from Mexico, which, like most countries (I imagine), uses the cane sugar and not high fructose corn syrup.. because that shit is disgusting.

      •

All coke made in Australia is definitely cane sugar. Cane sugar is the cheap in Australia

Only yankee land and some parts of Mexico uses the dodgy corn sugar because the industry is heavily subsidise

Omg that sweet sweet liquid of cold coke in a can. Heaven.

Vanilla coke is the best, but I only like it from a can which is very difficult to get.

  • +1 vote

Missing option pepsi light. Second best is Pepsi Max for me. Coke just tastes really sweet to Me and diet/no sugar suck. Coke zero used to be right up there with pepsi light as my favourite

    •

+1 for Pepsi Light, but I wonder, without the sugar or caffeine what's left in it lol

  • +2 votes

I only drink soft drink with alcohol so will say coke.

    • +1 vote

      Very Australian 👏👏👏

  •

For no sugar pepsi max hands down. For full sugar it has to be coke.

  •

I once saw a guy at the checkout years ago with his trolley full of 2L Coke (Classic) bottles. I asked him why he had so much so said he's a tradie and drinks only Coke. He said nothing else not even water quenches his thirst and drinks around 5 bottles (10 litres!!!!) a day.

    His vote is definitely Coke.

    •

      That dude has diabeetus

    • +2 votes

He might have been messing with you - trolley-full orders of 2L coke aren't that uncommon. Often people who own stores (like kebab places or corner stores) will buy them in bulk when they are on sale at the big supermarkets.

  • +2 votes

Pepsi max, 2 litre bottle is always $2.00 at supermarkets
So by OzBargain rules it wins as the cheapest option

    • +1 vote

$2.15 in states that are cucked by the bottle recycling program :(

  •

depends what I eat and the situation.
    Pizza will be pepsi.
    Burger will be Coca cola.
Friends over for dinner will be Bundaberg Ginger Beer.
    Long road trip Passionfruit V.

    •

      Very situational indeed.

  •

Where are people getting cane sugar Dr Pepper from? I thought Dublin Dr Pepper ceased production years ago?

Pepsi 1893. Now that was the best cola. I still have one last one in my bar fridge ive been saving.

    • +1 vote

Thank you. A true man of culture right here.

I hoarded about 20 packs of Pepsi 1893 when it was discontinued. Still have 2 unopened cans.

Seriously the best soft drink flavour introduced in the last 15 years.

      •

I did the same. Shame it didn't sell better because it's seriously the best cola i've had and I only found out about it in its last year.

  •

Loving the Pepsi Max with Mango

Oh how much the heart drops and disappointment sets in whenever you ask for a coke at a restaurant and they say “sorry we only have Pepsi”

      This is the way :(

Coke (No Sugar). Ricky Gervais' got it spot on in "The Invention of Lying" … https://i.imgur.com/yHSvSmP.png

    •

      lmao

  •

I missed one of those Instant Slushy Coke. If my memories were correct, these were sold 7-8 years ago but Coca Cola (in Australia) stopped making them, or may be it's still available but I couldn't find.

Just have to turn the bottle upside down 3.time.and BAAAM instant slushy Coca Cola.

    •

It's already hard to beat the price of a $1 Coke Slurpee from 7-Eleven.
I've inadvertently done the instant ice up thing when I left bottled Coke in the freezer a tad too long hoping to chill it quickly and I dunno, doesn't taste as nice. But at least still refreshing.

  •

Pepsi Max yo. Goes well with chicken

Chicken and Corn Roll with an RC Cola.

Those were the days @ the High School Tuck Shop.

I voted Coke but also enjoyed the recent Pepsi 1893 Original Cola. A shame it was discontinued.

A bold spin on an original cola. Boldly blended cola made with Kola nut extract, dark brown malt flavor, a touch of aromatic bitters, sparkling water, and real sugar.

  •

pepsi max is clearly the best non sugar version

  •

IMO diet coke is better than coke no sugar, should probably be an option on the poll.

That said… Pepsi Max is better than any of the coke options so it's an irrelevant point.

  •

Aldi Cola. Why pay for the brand if the cheapo is close enough….

  •

I prefer coke. However, when I did the blind tasting Pepsi Max vs Coke, I chose Coke for some reasons. I think the tasting was rigged, the coke must have been left out for a while as there was only a bit of fizzy left and it tasted off!

  •

Pepsi Light and Coca Cola Caffeine Free (both sugarless and caffeine free).

You also missed Pepsi Max Mango flavoured, and the other Coke options of orange and lime, I can't remember exactly.

  •

    Are you for real

  •

I cannot believe Pepsi Max is winning this poll, its vile.

Coke no sugar or original, hands down.

  •

Has anyone had coke that doesn't taste sweet?

This thread got me confused so I ended up going out to buy a can of Coke No Sugar.
Tastes sweet (like original coke). However, I remember having a can of coke that didn't taste sweet. More like soda water with cola flavoring… which I quite enjoyed.

Is this the ousted Coke Zero?
Or have my taste buds failed me?

  •

    Thou shall not Pepsi-cide.

  • +1 vote

Pre-epilepsy I was a MASSIVE Coke Zero drinker, since then, it's Vanilla Coke all the way.

  •

    Like always, the winner wins.

  •

you have left off the most popular, DIET COKE

  •

Surprised Pepsi is more popular than Coke. Wasn't expecting that.

  •

    I much prefer coke zero.

I now drink no-sugar, but don't really like it.

    • +1 vote

Try pepsi max. I was like you and swapped fairly recently.

      •

I'll have to give it a go, I've had it occasionally when there's been nothing else, but not recently.

It's cheaper too I believe - so might be worth the shot.

I liked the hash burn from coke zero, found no-sugar a bit too sweet with an off after-taste.

  •

It doesn't even compare to a caffeinated drink
up the nose and away you go

oh wait, just understood the question…

  •

    OzMundaneStatistics.

  •

Cold Coke from a glass bottle.

  •

Water is virtually free, do you even Ozbargain?

  •

    Diet Coke

  •

Solo Zero Sugar> Coke No Sugar> Pepsi Max> Diabetes

  •

How is Pepsi Max winning this? One of the most controversial polls we've had on this board.

    •

I drank coke zero and no sugar coke almost exclusively, but I have discovered within the last 6 months that I prefer pepsi max.

  •

I really do love Pespi Max, even the old school retro branding was dope.
But i do love Vanilla Coke too, but PM first i guess

  •

I think the fact KFC has Pespi made me love it over Coke even more

  •

If I’m drinking a sugar laden drink Vanilla Coke is what I’d prefer the most.

I usually go no sugar though, probs in the order of Diet Coke, Vanilla No Sugar, Pepsi Max Coke then No Sugar Coke.

Mexican Coke in a glass bottle is the best sugar laden standard Coke. If only we had the Coke Light that they have in South America too, that stuff is good.

  •

    Methalated Pepsi Max Vanilla.

  •

I loved Pepsi Next- does it still exist? trumped coke life

  •

    Coke

I always have sore throat every time I drink Pepsi products like Mountain Dew & Solo. I googled it up and found out that Mountain Dew was banned in many countries.
I haven't bought Pepsi products since; unless I go to KFC.

  •

It's not so simple as just choosing one.

Pepsi Max if I'm on a diet. Vanilla coke otherwise. If mixing with bourbon then just regular coke.

  •

    Pepsi for Full Sugar
Coke No Sugar for Sugar Free

Why isnt Coke No Sugar Caffeine Free getting a mention? Its actually the only stuff I normally drink if I have a soft drink. I mean even Coles cant even spell it right- https://shop.coles.com.au/a/national/product/soft-drink-caff...

  •

Reusable glass bottle coke from Asian countries. Alternatively, single use glass bottle premium come you can find once in a blue moon in Australia.

  •

As Heisenberg (Walter White) not Re Village, would say would you like to live in a world without Coca Cola?

  •

    Can we add urine, please…
It's good for you and most who try it like the taste ;)

  •

Obese people for the most part seem to favour Pepsi. Our poll seems to confirm this.

  •

    Lack of poll options…..

Caffeine free Pepsi; it get 0 on my poll… terrible; you can taste the aspartame.

Caffeine free No Sugar; its great! This seems to have replaced caffeine free diet coke. (Although I think the caffeine free diet coke was the better mixer).

EDIT: There was never a Caffeine free Zero.

  •

remember coke lemon? that was great.
