  • Is it any good?

    • +12

I got one few days ago, I'm actually pretty impressed for the price. It works better than my older Dyson DC59 which was on the way out.
Unsure how well it would go on carpet, but I have a short pile rug which it did ok on. Works well on floorboards.
I typically use it on the medium setting and battery has some decent lifespan (again comparing to my older Dyson.. can't say how it goes vs newer ones!)
It's also a lot quieter then my dyson.

For the price, I'd buy again.

      • Sweet, thanks. I've been looking at something like this for the mobility. I've got a 2 bed floorboard place with a short pile rug or two. It sounds like this will be just perfect for me.

        • +7

Yep, the motorised head it comes with has some decent power too. I can feel it pulling me along sometimes :)
It picks up larger bits such as crumbs way easier than my older dyson one.
For say a door mat you have to hold one end down with your foot or it will move it around.

          Cons:
          - the bin is a little on the smaller side but not a deal breaker for me.
          - I'd have liked a horizontal dusting brush, I find that works better than the smaller "vertical" style ones.
          - It's slightly heavier vs my older dyson - but that may also be the longer shape. Nothing of concern.
          - Bit longer than what I'm used to. Makes moving it around small spaces such as car trickier.

Price is very good for what you get!

          • -5

@dlcx: The soft brush (larger head) isn't motorised, it rolls from the suction, which is why it pulls you along.

            • +4

@whitelie: Disagree. Looks powered to me - mentions “rated power 40W” on the attachment itself and has the electrical contacts. Also you can’t roll it easily with your hand, it’s def motorised can feel the gearing. Not free wheel.

              • @dlcx: Correct. It has power connector and the thing spins on its own
I got one, works well and agree with all points above. Mainly the bin size for me as I have a dog.

For $99 its great. Longevity obv I not sure about yet

              • -2

@dlcx: Are you talking about the small or large head?
The small one is powered, large one isn't….some people use the small one for carpet but it's too tedious for that IMO.

                • @whitelie: You must have something different…

                • @whitelie: My larger head is definitely powered. How does suction spin something when there is physical resistance? Also it doesn't speed up with more suction power. Pull the stick back when it's on and there is very strong resistance. It will run away from you if you let it go.

            • @whitelie: Wrong. It's powered.

Would you think it would be any good for vacuuming up leaves on a balcony? It is just inconvenient to get the broom out and in and around corners and things with lots of plants shedding leaves.

Edit: I should say, these are small leaves from bonsai trees so we aren't talking big fig leaves or anything.

        • +1

Hmm the intake is pretty small (the diameter of the actual pipe and bin entry). Bin entry is about 2.5cm x 3 cm with a flap.
Leaves could be hit or miss.. may depend on how big they are/flexible perhaps.
The bin itself is pretty small so could get clogged up quick with a lot of leaves.

If I had to lean one way I'd probably say not great for that use case.

EDIT: Just saw your reply re leaf size… may be ok then?

          • @dlcx: Thanks, I bought one anyways… I think it should be fine (see my edit above) for the leaves I am talking about. Worst case I have a vacuum to clean behind my toilet where the Roborock can't get. Best case I can keep my balcony in better shape. Just want to suck up the dust/dirt/leave that goes with having a 6sqm balcony with 30+ plants on it. We will see.

            • +1

@EBC: For the price it goes very good, hopefully works well for your use case!

            • @EBC: Agree with @whitelie, a wet/dry vac is much more suited to leaves. This unit doesn't do well with moisture…

        • +2

I'd be getting a wet/dry vac for leaves or vacuuming anything outside.

          • @whitelie: Yeah this is a good recommendation too.

          • @whitelie: Fair call. Have had one in the past but they tend to be large and annoying to store for such a small space. For what it is worth, I have actually used my Roborock on my balcony (after making sure it was dry) and it worked alright but probably a bit too much for the poor guy to be done regularly. We will see how this goes for the occasional go at sucking up some leaves and dirt.

            • @EBC: If it's wet regularly, maybe look in to something like this Hoover
Don't have much hope with it being so cheap but never know…?

      • +3
        • Is that for real??

          64.90 is too cheap

        • Wonder if Japan's version has the floorstand… Nearly worth grabbing as it's cheaper than a second battery, I already have an AU charger with my current one

        • I'll give it a shot, used PayPal to cover my arse..

          Cheers..

        • +1

its well designed, feels like a quality product not a $100 one,

but has drawbacks such as not super great on carpet (go full power)

and i find the dust bin is small, its a bit uncomfortable in the hand after some time,

if mostly hardwood and lack carpet and a small home its great,

  • What is the comparison for this vacuum to T20?

    • The price talks for itself, I guess…

    • $300

  • does this come with the wall mount?

    • +2

Comes with the wall mount to screw into wall and hang the vacuum. (feed charger in, same as hanging dyson on wall).

It doesn't come with the moveable floor rack to store all the ends on.

  • Any accessories for this that work well in a car like a bendy hose?

    • nope sadly, they may release some, but given all the variants im not sure, but $100

    • Yeah that would be awesome. Looking at aliexpress etc, I don't see any other accessories. Hope they make some!

    • +5

      Trouver snake (TM).

  • No mention if this model comes with the stand in the ebay listing, would be good to know.

    • +1

If I had to make a bet, I would suspect it will come with the wall mount (not floor stand)… I'd use that as the expectation.

      • +1

No, it doesn't. Only the small wall mount.

      • +2

there is a picture of the moveable floor rack in the product description, so it should be included unless the advertisement is misleading.

        • +1

I don't think any of the local versions have the floor mount but will be interested to hear if anyone receives one as I'll buy another one…better value than buying a spare battery and filters.

  • Does anyone know if this comes with all those accessories (heads) that are show in the last picture of the listing?

    • +3

The one I got from gshopper for $99 the other day included all the attachments and a wall mount (no floor stand).
Suspect this one would be similar.

      • Cool! might grab one! thanks.

  • +24

Congratulations OP on your 1000th post!!!!! ❤️

    • +11

      Thank you :)

  • Thanks OP, is it possible to buy additional battery?

    • Maybe check with the eBay store

      • Had a check online. Only could find battery for robot vaccum's not this handheld one.

    • AliExpress was the only place I found batteries but they were like $80. I was going to get one and spare filters but it's a no brainer to get a whole new vac for that price….

      • Wow agreed, thanks for sharing whitelie!

  • Got a Dyson V8 that's on the fritz. Will this be a suitable replacement?

    • +1

Not sure how the V8 is vs V6 but have a look a replacing the battery. Got one for $70 for the V6 and it gave it a new lease of life.

      • +2

Same. V6 with new battery off of fleabay was an entirely new beast.

      • Easy to replace. Would recommend that you get a replacement battery directly from Dyson as it was around $70-80 and it now works like new. It lasts a very long time now.

    • I'm in the same boat, but with the V6 (just fully dismantled it and cleaned it and it's still cooked. Have a $35 replacement battery from Amazon coming, hoping that fixes it)

      • Did the same for my V6. But after 5-6 months the battery started to play up again.

So got the Trouver Power 11 on another deal for same price.

For $99, it's pretty good however the bin is on the smaller side.

        • Thanks for the reply, sounds like it will be fine for me as I'm still happy with the V6's power when it works.
I'm half expecting the V6 battery fix it to be a fail hence why I'm keeping an eye on these deals haha,

I think I'll grab one of these eventually to do the hard floors (80% of the house) and save the (hopefully working) V6 for the carpet.

          • @Pandaroo: was in same boat as you ~6 months ago.

the highly rated 3rd-party battery i bought died last week.

worked well while it lived, but 6 months is silly.

original Dyson battery or new machine, is my new motto

            • @andresampras: Argh sounds like I may as well return it when I receive it and cough up the extra for an original, or I could roll the dice on Amazons customer support in 6 months time…

6 months is no good, the original one has lasted nearly 6 years for me (purchased October 2015), so I'd expect at least a couple years out of a cheap replacement.

This is the one I ordered for what it's worth: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08HM1YVGW/ref=ppx_yo_d…

I just see Shopbacks $5 bonus cashback deal I can combine with this, so that's convinced me to try out the Xiaomi.

              • @Pandaroo: I just bought the OP vac for $65, my link towards the end of this page

      • I tried cleaning it taking it apart in pieces, didn't work. Non Dyson battery replacement worked but charging lights don't work properly.

    • +1

Suction is on par with Dyson V8 specs. I prefer this to our outgoing V7.
Dustbin is on the small side but for under $100 I can live with it. Much easier to remove and empty compared to the Dyson too.

    • Did some googli` specs wise the Dreame v10 has Air Watts and a bigger motor but a smaller bin size. https://www.vacuumwars.com/compare-xiaomi-dreame-v10-cordles…

We've only got floorboards so this might be a winner.

    • Got one of these for a friend who has a V8 and said she prefers this, prefers using it and reckons it cleans better on hard floors, and the V8 battery costs as much as this whole setup.

  • +1

How does this compare to dreame v9?

  • +2

As recommended by butlers from the UK :)

    • Has automatic flapping too :)

  • +2

All these similar names with other completely different models and brands, confusing the feck out of this old bugger.

  • Bought this to replace my old Dyson v6
    Hope this perform better

    • It does. Same for me replacing v6 and v7

  • +1

    This or A9?

  • +1

Buy now or wait for eBay plus to add it to a weekly promos again for $199?

    • +2

Why u want it for double the price?

  • +4

    I like the pro-CCP look !!!

    • +1

Those colours were popular in China long before the CCP

Also looks more like the coke colour scheme to me

    • The word "Trouver" in combination with color scheme made me think they wanted people to confuse it with Hoover.

  • Thanks OP. Old one is about to die. Perfect timing :)

  • This one is good, worth the $99.

  • Purchased.

Wife has been bugging me about getting a stick vac for a while.

    Don't let me down ozb.

Also, don't forget 3% off with Suncorp rewards gift cards as usual

    • i think you can get ebay gift card for 3% discount on shopback

    • Mine was sceptical when I said I got one to replace our V7 that is requiring a battery replacement. I let her use it first and she was sold. Definite bargain for under $100.

  • Does this look better than what it does on the photo? Anyone actually wallmounting it?

    • I rather not have holes everywhere in my plaster wall, so no. I just leave it on the floor when done.

      • Lol. Are your posters “structural”?

        • +3

I try not to mount anything to the walls, especially things that I might throw away or replace in 3-4 years down the line. This is one of those thing. $99 bucks (at least 20% discount GC), makes it $80 bucks. Not worth mounting it to the wall. Floorstand or just leave it on the floor seems fine.

          • +2

@Xantar: 1) If you change the vac, you can replace the old wall mount with the new mount. You would be able to reuse at least one hole, and likely can cover the other hole with the mount.
            2) Small holes in the plasterboard are easy to patch.
            3) If you can screw it to a stud, the hole would be tiny.

  • I need a vacuum cleaner so I picked up this one, hope it works out!

  • +2

I bought this vacuum a few days ago for $109.99. I'm still awaiting delivery. Any way I can get back the difference? Cheers.

    • +2

It's $10—what are you gonna buy, a banana?

      • a pint

  • It has three power mode. Weak, medium, strong I name it. Only "strong" works for me and it lasts 10 min. So you decide to buy or not. It's ok to me cos it is for a quick clean up.

  • Anyone knows if these go well for carpet? And is it better than those Kmart ones (non stick one) in terms of power and quality? 😂

  • well worth the money, a real deal right here, shows how all other similar vacuums are overpriced

  • Thanks OP, bought 2…

  • +1

We have one of these and its amazing. Highly recommended!!
