    come on, no comments yet?

    • +1

      nope, sorry.

    • +3

      Busy in buying 😊

    • This isn't a comment charity bro.

  • wow, even with exynos thats a great deal.

  • +4

As a reminder this has 8gb of RAM vs 12gb on the 5g

    • thanks.
and the price comparison as well please?

      • 5G was about 1,250 few days back via Samsung Loyalty Code (to get via chat)

    • Thought only 512GB variants came with 12GB RAM.

      • Nope. All 5g have 12gb

    • +3

8GB of RAM on a phone…I feel old.

      • +1

Yep, who needs more than 32k.

    • Yeah, that's probably the deal breaker for me.

I'm interested in reselling my Note10+ to upgrade to Note20 Ultra (especially if this proves to be the last Note gen) at the right price and sub $1K is probably right at this point in time. But 12GB to 8GB is a concession not worth making considering the iterative difference between the two gens is small.

Guess I'll wait for the 5G/12GB version to drop in price (if that ever happens)…

  • +5

Wow reviews are terrible for this phone

    • +1

      Due to the Exynos reviews

    • +2

Exynos is a different phone than SD variant, so yeah. Much worse.

      • +4

        20% worse.

  • +2

Damn. Would jump on this if I could grab this with the $900 off $99/m

    • +1

i saw a banner in harvey norman for $85 for 24 months plan with $0 upfront. I know not many will like going on 24 months contract.

  • +6

If you are already spending this much of money, why not just go for the 5G version.

    • -1

Exactly, cant believe people are dropping $1k on a 4G phone these days.

      • +4

What… do you do with your phone that needs 5g? 4g speeds in Australia are fantastic anyway.

I just ran a speedtest from my phone, sitting at my desk at home, over 4G on Optus, and got 72/35 Mbps. That's enough to stream 4k remuxes…

I think the whole 'I cant believe people are dropping on 1k on a phone these days' should have a lot more to do with Exynos vs Snapdragon, or the fact that 1440p is no longer standard, or the loss of 3.5mm and SD cards - rather than how much excessive bandwidth you could have in a best case scenario.

I tend to keep phones for a while, after moving from Nokia's I've had Galaxy S4, S7 and now an S10.

Why would i pay top shelf price for 4g as my next phone to keep for years when i could get the 5g version for a negligible difference? As for what i can do, i'm on NBN fixed wireless which is slow and has issues. So i can hotspot the phone to the desktop PC, and move big work related files to and from remote servers in a flash.

  • The deal yesterday was not Ultra, right?

    • Yes.

  • +4

why Australia always get the shit exynos version

    • +7

      because we are special…..

    • +2

The gap is pretty narrow on this exynos version as compared to the last, you won't even notice it. Just wait for S22 if you are so concerned Exynos + AMD confirmed i will wait for your comments on exynos then.

      • +6

I spent big bucks on launch for s10+ and s20ultra both exynos.

Every year people telling me this year gap is narrow or on par. Even reviewer say similar things. But my user experience in terms of heat, battery life, and random performance drop until phone restart is crazy. I have an imported note 10 plus with SD, even that out perform crappy exynos . You can't just look at benchmark difference.

Never again I will trust them.

I will try import SD version in future or just go for Apple.

        • +1

yeah I have a note 20 and need to run it on power saving mode to avoid heat issues and faster battery drain.

        • +4

          or just go for Apple

Now now, don't say something you can't take back!! 😱

        • +1

Yes, a BIG no to Exynos.
I don't even care their partnership with AMD for GPU if the CPU is so unstable.
SD isn't perfect and has many issues, but not as many as Exynos.
Both Exynos and SD has a lot to do to catch up with Apple A series, which is the King in terms of peak performance and stability.

  • hmm i just got note 10+….. if not…
but again cant afford $999 for a phone

    • +1

Be really happy with Note10+, it's a phenomenal phone!

Especially if you got it at a much lower price point than this - what'd you pay and for new or used? 🤔

      • +1

I got one too from JB, 650.:new. About a month ago.

        • That's insanely good value. Note 10+ is one of the greatest phones of all time, I mean it.

  • +2

A good phone but keep in mind the superior S21 Ultra with the same storage and 5G was pretty much this price last month

    • not really..

    • +6

I'm a big fan of the Note line but I'm gonna agree here. The new chip on the S21 and s pen compatibility makes the S21 ultra a better buy for the price. Only thing the S21 ultra loses out on is the SD card slot

    • I have JB Hifi vouchers to spend but got sick of waiting for a good price from JB on anything decent, so picked up that S21 Ultra deal (although still waiting for the order). Now, I'm torn whether to cancel my S21 order and get this with my vouchers :(

  • +3

Didnt even know this phone has 4g version

    • -1

did you get 1 my lighthouse?

  • I went with the Fold 2 purely for SD…but also for cool features

  • This or iphone 12 pro max?

    • +1

What are you using now? Android or iOS ?

  • Any note coming this year?

    • Every year. Lately around August

      • +1

Rumours say no note this year, not sure though.

        • Samsung said they aren't cancelling the note range so I'd assume a note this year

      • +1

A lot of people saying no Note this year due to the semi conductor shortage.

        • Its not a real shortage though, not like there is a shortage in materials

          • @Xantar: There is a genuine shortage in semi conductor chips…

            • @sena86: He means resource wise there’s no shortage, should hopefully be sorted by mid next year though the supply and demand is crazy atm

  • +1

    very very good price

  • -5

    rubbish phone.

    • Why?

  • very very very good price

    • Time to post Note 20 Ultra screen protector and case deal :)

  • Camera issues?

  • Does anyone think we are going to get a better deal than the $1599 on the Ultra ATM? I don't have anything to trade in so that's a no go. I went in yesterday and tried to haggle and got outright denied but he offered a phone case and 3 months of google sub or some shite. What do

      • +1

Sorry, I meant the S21 Ultra. My bad! Thanks anyway :)

        • $1294.30 in Samsung education store currently.

          • +1

@Mregmi: Oof, that sounds brilliant. I don't go to Uni. What do I have to do to get on that? I'm sure OzBargainers have a workaround, haha!

            • @kurtcobain: Try borrowing an email address with .edu.au from a friend?

  • +3

    E X Y N O S

    but still great eal

  • +1

Damn I just bought the Samsung FE20 5G a few days ago from eBay deal

  • +2

Does anyone know if this can be stacked with Telstra 12 month plan $900 giftcard offer?

  • +5

Everyone’s needs a different but to me $1000 and 4G in 2021 don’t make me want to reach for the wallet

    • +5

      Lucky it's $999 then!

    • +1

I posted this elsewhere in the thread, but I'll as you as well:

  • wow, what a deal

  • Can you go In store & use the code?

    • Seems like delivery only

  • Contemplating between this and S21 Ultra for $1249. Decisions… Decisions…

  • +1

That is a fair price for exynos ultra.

  • Thanks for the deal, great price, even for the 4G version.
