          • @xyron: Future proofing for sure. I also work with large SQL databases, VMs etc. so having enough cores and squeezing enough power out of them is essential.

            • @Clear: Extremely niche use case, no variant of this PC even with an 11th gen Intel platform would be good enough for you then.

And future-proofing is not possible on either AMD or Intel platform at the moment as both companies have indicated that their AM4/LGA1200 sockets are EOL after this generation. Future-proofing is a pretty foolish thing to aim for with a PC anyway. Buy the best value components you can get at the time (in 2004 for example, this meant buying a socket 478 Pentium 4 and not an LGA775 one).

              • @xyron: Indeed very niche case. You can never absolutely future proof but if you go for the current generation you can typically save yourself a few years if you don't intend on upgrading for another 5 or so years.

I had thought AMD were using the same socket for the next generation. Perhaps I was thinking of the 3000 series using the same socket of the 5000 series.

  • What's the turnaround time for these machines? reading last deal appears to be almost a month?

    • Hi Bearboi,

The reason the Bifrost v1 take a month because we waited 3 weeks for the GPU stocks to arrive.

We expect to finish all builds within 2 weeks.

  • Tried to buy one but had issues with their website not loading…. oh well

  • Price just went up to $2499

  • They did say it'd only be until 6pm today

  • Is 600W really okay for this build?

    • Yeah I’m going to see if they can change the build at all.

    • It'll be fine as long as it's a decent quality PSU.

      • +1

Which is should be, states EVGA gold efficiency. Solid choice

    • a quality 600w is more than enough for a 3070 and even a 9900KS with a reasonable overclock.

    • No? Still says OC

  • +2

Received today. The gpu is not the restricted version.

    • hi, may i ask what brand of the rtx 3070 you received. thanks alot
