Annual Dia De Portugal promotion where Oporto sells a whole, flame grilled chicken for $10.
Usually available in Lemon & Herb, Mild Chilli and Extreme Chilli Basting.

This year, Oporto is saying you need to install their app and use the promo code PORTUGAL when placing the order to scan the code.

I have had no luck with the app, which redirects me to Menulog when placing the order and the code is not accepted.

The only scannable code I seen to have access to is the QR Code for rewards.

Yet to try in store buy will be in a couple of hours. Last year I had success just mentioning the offer without an app. Please share your experiences.

          New customers, be aware you need to use the 5 dollar welcome credit first. The new offer/reward/promotion should show up within 24hrs. $12 chicken today, $10 tomorrow, still not too bad.

            @MrRevhead: I just signed up and they let me get the $10 grilled chicken on first purchase. On the app's home page, you can swipe the deal to $10 chicken before you scan.

                  @JHoliday: Same price everyday I think. Scan your membership to get 5% back. If you haven’t made a purchase in about a year, they normally send you a $5 “we miss you” voucher. So last week I got their chicken for $12 and today $10.

        This would come from national marketing and promotions budgets and not store owners pockets. No idea why VIC and SA are not included, however I am not a regular there and now even more so will avoid the place.

        They say that, but the reality is that the promotion comes and goes and it's gone. They could have had delivery partners for this. Or even just take away as all the food outlets are still open for take away. If anything, Victoria needed this the most… particularly if the budget comes from national promotions and marketing.

    I think I've figured this one out

    1. Do NOT register your account in the app, since it doesn't have an option to add a promo code

    2. register your reward card on the Oporto website where you can enter the promo code 'Portugal'

      thanks but im not sure if system lets you stack offers. i think staff always tell me its only one offer per transactions allowed . give it a go and let us know if it works ? ill give it a shot but im sure my local store staff wont let me have a galina for $5?

      Awesome advice. This worked for me, and the guy at my local Oportos (Heathwood, Qld) confirmed this is the procedure you have to follow.

      He also let me spend the $5 signup on a separate order, so for $15.70 I got a chook, XL chips and a dipping sauce. Family loved it!

        It has happened to me with KFC as well as those charcoal chicken places, always astounds me. They inform me after 1 hour after the order was placed and 30 minutees after the order was already due to be delivered to my place…

            @Munki: this happened at KFC recently and a charcoal chicken place a while back, the charcoal chicken place didnt respond. KFC finally responded with a very non chalant response and almost made it like i should be grateful they were willing to give me a refund for the order that never arrived…. They didnt offer any explanation or give me any credits or extras.

    I just tried at the Oporto in meadowbrook, QLD. The guy scanned my QR code and said the offer isn't there on my account so had to come back empty handed. Looks like it needs to show up on your account.

    anyone know if what i came across was just at the oportos i visit or all the oportos. Last couple of times i ordered chicken from Oportos (with the desired flavouring i was after) They just gave me the chicken plain (cooked) and the sauce packets on the side. When i asked them about it, they said thats how they do it. But previously my experience always was they cook it / reheat it with the sauce already on it / marinated which adds to the flavour.

      How weird, maybe your store was being lazy? Personally I have had their chicken a few times from 4 different stores around my area and they always come with the sauces on the chicken.

    Just picked up a $10 chook.

    Had to scan QR, but the promo wasn't present in my account. The guy that was serving me was baffled / couldn't give me a $10 chicken without the promo. Code wasn't present on his register. He called tech support / head office / someone who could help. Shop guy said to close my app. His guru on the other end of the phone remotely updated my app, and when I re-launched it the promo was there. I then bought my chicken for $10.

    I signed up online then downloaded the app. The $5 voucher and $10 chicken deals were loaded.

    It's only 1 voucher per order. So i got the $10 from Chullora NSW today.

    Reminds me of nandos but not as tasty. Still pretty good for $10.
