    I have QC35s - the mrs has these. I begrudgingly prefer hers…

    • sound, fit or ANC ?

      • +1

        Sound quality is almost overwhelmingly seen as better in Sony (and Sennheiser), with QC far below.

      • Sound = Sony
        Fit = Sony
        ANC = Bose

        Overall Sony > Bose by a whisker but you'll be happy with either.

    Tested by Mrs willyroo in a King Air 350 C:

    QC35 - better noise reduction
    Sony - better sound quality

    I prefer my MEE Audio IEMs with Comply foam tips - far better sound quality than the above 2 + near NC sound reduction (G/D/R)

      Can go one-better and get custom-made tips

  • Is it worth better than brand new? $50~60 gap…

    • Curious as well. Assuming unwanted/box damaged rather than soiled…

    • +1

      From what I can gather, it's luck of the draw really. Most people are saying it's only box damage but I've seen some people reporting scratches on the earcups and stains on the carry case.

    • My experience buying the wf-1000xm3 in ears was that they were missing one of the ear bud sizes and instead provided two of the same size. I made an argument in a PayPal case that it was a critical accesory (the missing buds were my size) and ask for about $15 to buy the replacement from the Sony spares provider. I am pretty sure Sony argued with PayPal about this who then, without asking me, changed the claim reason and asked Sony to refund the whole order. Sony didn't respond after that and somehow I got the refund whilst still keeping the product…

      So I would say if you buy by PayPal you will be covered if there is something wrong… eBay would probably help as well but I usually find PayPal to be more robust.

  • Is this a good price?

    • Looking back it might be the best price to date, or at least equal or not far off

    Thanks OP have purchased.

    Will post back on the quality of the "Seconds" and note what condition they were in

    • Delivered today.

      Box itself didnt look brand new few dinted corners etc. Inside everything new and shiny. Dont see any marks on the headphones themselves. Updated firmware and all buttons/features working fine.

      Watched a random unboxing video online to make sure everything was included and looks fine, they even smell new so positive review from me.

  • I bought the MX4's from a deal that was posted a while ago. First pair were faulty. Then Sony sent me MX3's by mistake. It took 67 days to finally sort out. The headphones looked brand new both times though - the issue I has was very specific and hard to notice if you weren't looking for it. Very happy its finally over as they are great headphones.

  • Why aren't you comparing it with the Bose 700?
    The xm3 where comparable to the qc35ii

    Had both xm3 and qc35ii, loved the xm3 sound but couldn't have it on more than 30 minutes, wasn't comfortable at all, but that's so personal.

  • Is the Sony store generally more expensive than JB Hifi and the likes? I want to buy the WF-1000XM4's but not sure if I should pre-order from Sony's website or just buy it from somewhere else when it comes out mid july.
