be aware these seem to have very poor reliability

its not a bargain if it dies 4 months in and you effectively have something for council cleanup

perhaps spend $25-$35 more and get something with 3yrs warranty

In what way is this refurbished?
Many dishonest sellers are using the term for plain used goods.

Warranty only 3 months "back to base". Not good for mail order of goods that may have failed before.

    • Its the stock that gets returned from Aldi sales.

Who knows what repairs are done. It's a cheap product with a short warranty…

      • Not all returns at Aldi are due to faulty products.
In fact, many are just the case of customers' change of mind.

yeah but its still luck of the draw

basically these are all the returns that aldis sold pennies to the dollar to someone who buys a pallet, gets slave labour to refurb with new caps and now blows it out at $89

if they had more confidence in it, they'd offer at least 1yr

          example:

          $138.00

Acer 23"inch V233HL 5ms LED Backlight LCD Monitor
MSY (ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC, WA) | www.msy.com.au |

          not the cheapest either

        • At Aldi, unless the product is returned as faulty, it is generally checked & offered for sale again. Have bought a PVR with recordings on it, & other obviously used electronics. Some stock has gone back on sale straight away according to posts on Whirlpool. So I would say it would need to have been returned as faulty.

Always been skeptical about quality of Aldi stuff (not saying its bad in all depts), even more so especially after the 'TodayTonight' report on a customer finding a dead mouse in a salad pack! Look it up if u don't believe me. Uhgh, so disgusting it makes u wanna throw up.
:-( Hope u weren't having lunch while reading this!

Makes you really wonder about the quality control policies they have in place.

As someone who has worked in the food industry for 15 years, it's regrettable but it's a fact of life that its impossible to ensure 100% that there are no mice in a food facility.
Even the best pest control programs have some slight error rate. New mice are continually attracted to the facility by the smell of food.
ALDI require all suppliers to undergo strict audits by a third party auditing body annually.
The fact is that the place that made the salad containing the mouse for ALDI probably also make salads for all the other supermarkets too. And even if not, that place would have similar controls in place as the factories that do supply salads to the other supermarkets.

Woolies has had mouse in their bread too, in fact I bet you most retailers have had a food contamination problem at least once in their operating history.

Hang on a tic, so this monitor came with a free mouse? That smells like WIN to me! :p

Your problem is that you watch today tonight.

  • 3 months warranty? no thanks. spend a little more and get a new 23"

  • yeah, i think i'll pass on refurbished

  • We bought a vegetable steam last weekend from aldi and after 1 use it went back.. Quality was just awful, as the lid didn't even fit the containers and a lot of the vegetables slipped through into the water reserve.. Who knows if it went back on sale but it was used and not very hygenic if its resold. I was an aldi fan of their stuff but the last few purchases i've made I can't see me going back.

Stop crying about Aldi products. You get what you pay for.

Stuff gets returned at every retailer. People shouldn't draw conclusions from one product that doesn't meet expectations. I don't think Aldi is any worse that others but you are paying less at least.
