  • Nice deal but a bit out of my price range… Do you have anything coming up around the $2K mark ???
I just missed the last deal.
    Thanks

Just wait a bit, looks like in a month or so you might be able to get something cheaper , there is a light at the end of the tunnel

      • Thank you…

      • What gives you confidence in light at the end of the tunnel?

Lot more stock, lower mining prices , CPUs going down in price , you can actually buy a gpu card now as well so there is stock, when it doesn't sell for 2k they will drop price

          • @botchie: I think there's a lot more uncertainty than that. You may be entirely right but the sellout of $1600+ 3070Ti suggests there's still lots of latent demand, it seems plausible prices will drop a bit but without more substantial increases in global supply it's hard to see us going back anywhere near launch prices anytime soon. My crystal ball is much cloudier than yours though

@daffyd: i dont think you will see RRP prices but you will see stock, the TIE models now will be sold to gamers as opposed to miners, once the first batch of desperate ppl buy at crazy prices it will normalize somewhat in the near future….I think the peak has passed as Nvidia wasnt making many 3080s and 70s in anticipation of TI release where they will collect the cream on top as opposed to scalpers , give it few months and it will be a lot better

    • There's a bloke in classified that's trying to sell it if you're still interested

    • Techfast 3070 deal? E.g. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/623935

May need to wait a few weeks for delivery.

3070ti just doesn't seem worth paying more for

  • this or the Dell Alienware R10 deal?

    • I really looked at the Dell but the reports of the noise from the fans put me off & I don't have the skills to upgrade the parts.

BPCTECH's last deal would have suited me but I just missed it.

These retailer gonna be taking people for a ride (jacked up price) or they were forced to buy bundle from distributor. Gigabyte eagle 3070ti was marked as $960 on a few site, with no stock of course, but this tell me what the rrp would be for mid range partner cards. The cheapest in stock card last night was about 1600, most of them r at 2k mark now. How can they do this kind of pre build so cheap, when the graphic card alone is 80% of the price?
Prebuild used to be a bit more than all parts combined at rrp. This market is wrong and twisted.

    • If retailers want to buy graphics cards they’re forced to buy other components as well, that’s essentially why you are seeing cheap motherboards and cpus everywhere lately

      • The AIBs are bundling things like motherboards, AIOs, psus with the graphics cards. CPUs are from Intel/AMD.

The cheap cpus are a combination of lots of supply & competition coupled with miners using up multiple GPUs in the one rig so there's a limited number available for desktop pcs.
