      +1 for this - I've been wanting to buy this for months but can't pull the trigger as my place is mostly carpet, so I really need that head.

      Are we going to get it at some point or should I look at something else? If so - any recommendations on a similar handheld that does carpet well?

      There was a mini buzz here on OzB about something similar a little while ago that piqued my interest. Can not for the life of me remember the brand or price. At the time people seemed positively inclined to thinking something like this was useful. I'd be interested to hear if there are particular models to look out for and what price rang is a bargain for them.

      I got one from a previous gearbite deal.

      It does give a nice soft light to my desk but I only really like to use it around dusk/dawn and much prefer to use normal room lighting when it is pitch black outside. Haven't noticed any less strain to my eyes like other users here have mentioned. All in all for me personally I'd say it wasn't worth the money.

      I also had a very painful experience dealing with gearbite (from an error on my end when I ordered) which they only finally shipped the product once I mentioned I would go to the ACCC.

          I think if you normally use your computer in the pitch black room at night then this might suit you. However if your like me and prefer a well lit room then not so much.

        Could I mount this on my bed head frame as a night light, that's soft enough to illuminate, but not harsh enough to blind us?

        I have usb power supply on the side of the bed. With rechargeable laddas and pro loops too.

          It would probably depend on the frame that it is being attached to. There is a dial that controls the brightness of the lamp so you can adjust it to suit what you need.

      I acquired this light bar a few months back and have never looked back. I wish I have gotten it sooner as it just illuminates the desk in a nice way and also kind to your eyes. Here’smy setup for those interested.

          Thanks. There’s a glare only on the top bit of the top monitor which is due to the fact that I rotated it to face the screen so my eyes don’t see the led being it that high. If you don’t have a stacked setup like I do it should be fine.

      You get an extra vacuum head. I think it’s an all-purpose one whereas the one that comes with it already is for hard floors and looped carpet.

      Not fussed imo - I have the non-combo and it works a charm. Might buy the extra head on discount when possible but in no rush.

      The Combo model comes with the Carpet Roller Head separately which would be better for carpets specifically.

          From what I understand, the V10 as a base comes with the All Surface Head (upgraded from prior) and then the Combo version comes with the carpet head linked specifically. There's a difference in the photos of the package contents with the combo coming with the head on the bottom right of the photo.

              The combo listing has the all-surface plus the hard-floor/fluffy head
              (not "carpet head", unless you mean the texture of the head is like carpet, in which case, agreed haha)

        Are you sure you guys haven't got it the other way around?

        Looking at the pics, V10's default head looks like V9's carpet head to me, just different colours. The combo option actually looks like V9's soft flat head.

          Yes that's correct, V10 multi purpose head does carpets and smooth floors, but V9 carpet is only supposed to be used on carpets due to the possibility of it scratching certain hard flooring. We can guess the v10 multi has softer brushes which may mean it's not as good on carpets, but it's safer on all flooring types

        I do not think that is correct. The Combo model comes with an All-surface head (the default head which is better for carpets) and also the Soft Roller Head (good for timber & hard floors).

      I had a quick scroll through the older deals, and looks about it. Some at $419 but had to go through unidays/discounted catch gift cards/Kogan; this one is much easier for me + can get 3-5% gift card savings.

      That being said, on the other most recent post, a lot of negative comments about the smearing, 144hz, flickering, colour issues etc. I play MMOs and do design work, so not sure if I should give this a pass now.

      But I also don't want to fork out $800 for a 'great' monitor haha

        I don't plan on using it for gaming so smearing may be less of an issue for me but I think you are going to get some smearing on all VA panels anyway. All the budget 34" Ultrawide around the $450-550 mark looks very similar in spec. I was going to get a 32" but woke up to find all the shops I bookmarked yesterday jacked up the price and now the Xiaomi looks like a far better deal. I read an unconfirmed source saying Xiaomi can no longer source the Samsung panel at the same price as they did so they plan on changing the panel or might have already done so.

      Only negative for desktop usage that I can think of is smearing & ghosting while scrolling through text. Looks horrible, but it's mostly at speeds faster than you'd be reading at.

    Really peeved with Gearbite for lying about V11 carpet head. At the time, we were told the carpet head with new pin will be available in March and we are now in the middle of June!
    Everytime I ask Gearbite, they come back saying 4-6 weeks. Everytime. I would not have bought it if I knew carpet head for it wouldn't be available for God knows how long.

      Was your order stuck as "Your payment is pending" for hours before being refunded?

      My order for the V10 vacuum with credit card, gift cards and coupon this morning was stuck for 4 hours and automatically cancelled.

      I reordered using the paypal and only discount code but it looks like that is stuck as well.

          Yeah, I've had the same issue for another item twice - first was refunded and I had to buy again. Thought it was a paypal issue, but paid directly with card and same issue. eBay now tells me it's a 'temporary issue that their team is trying to resolve'.
          Were your payments through gift cards. Mine was mostly gift card with a small balance.
