Came prematurely for the Big Rack 👀 comments

There's medication to help with that.

    Listing says 2.0 x 1.5m, but photo and description says 1.5 x 1.4m. Only 30cm deep too…

    Hmmm…

For a moment I was trying to visualise a 4 dimensional shelf.

      •

Right you are. I stand humbly corrected.

        Cheers.

        •

          Ok, I updated the title.

Yeh, might be more worthwhile getting the 41cm deep Montgomery from Bunnings.

        Thanks for the tip.

$44.50 each rather than $32 but 1.83m(h) x .91(w) x .41(d) cm as opposed to 1.5m x .70 x .30cm gives more than double the storage and is considerably better reviewed than Giantz. The amazon reviews for Giantz are not good.

is that the one that went on sale a couple months back to beat/match Aldi's weekly catalogue? strangely can't find the ozb post anymore.

  •

That material for the structure looks rather flimsy.

  •

Many thanks! The 0.7m wide shelves were also included in this listing, and I snagged a pair $17 less than Amazon Prime’s listed price.

  •

Would love to hear the thoughts of any shelf experts out there, as there are so many options, and we need to buy quiet a few. Bunnings, aldi, ikea, ebay/amazon, gumtree/marketplace?

I suggest get shelf where the 'length' bars are one piece rather than a 2-piece (where you link them by a joiner), under heavy load, the top bar will 'slide' onto the bottom bar but still be held together by the joiner.

So the shelf would be off by like 1-2° it's annoying.

It believe most of these shelves are like this. I will look single piece bars but the thing is the box is very long but fortunately, my car back seats can fold and have to out down the front seat and had to slide the entire box from ther boot when driving home from bunnings

If you go to your local scrap metal they will usually have old pallet racks for bare metal value. Not always the prettiest - you can paint it if you want - but with good boards on top (can use yellow tongue or similar) they last forever and don't sag ever. They are also deep and you can configure the heights as needed. If you need any racking cut and welded to a specific size then a small private metal shop should be able to help out for not too much. Pallet racking and these more domestic types of shelving are like chalk and cheese in terms of durability.

wouldnt recommend, flimsy and quite hard to put together

  •

The current shelving unit I have in the garage is some small POS from Bunnings that was like $10 lol.

So this looks significantly better - also apparently had some $30 off promotion with Afterpay so this was about $32 :D

    Thanks OP

Think I'll skip this one, as the reviews for all GIANTZ products are really not so good.

  •

Did anyone else get a refund a few hours after buying these?

  •

Before: "Sure it might be flimsy but for the price it looks decent, I'll only be putting light items on it and it's delivered so saves me some time."

After: This is the flimsiest junk I have ever had the displeasure of assembling. You can bend the metal with your fingers it's so weak, the thing bends and warps under the pressure of its own weight, let alone holding anything up. Useless instructions and it took long enough to put together that I would've saved time by driving to Bunnings and getting a decent shelf.

    Not recommended, at all.

Assembled one today. Bloody a lot of effort due to the vertical frame being in two pieces each. The instructions are so poor and tiny that they don't help at all. I'm surprised I managed to get one assembled. Now to start on the next…
