FYI that Amazon deal is back in stock as of 10 minutes ago. Black is also available now, not just silver.

Videopro do have silver as well here.

    • Could be cheaper too on Prime day coming up In a week or so !

      • I second that. wait for Prime Day people!

      • No Prime sale on it…do they add more deals over the next two days or would it already be released if it was going to be on sale?

        • They do lightning deals every half an hour or hour over the next 2 days, usually for a single item.

For example at 8am it was Nintendo Switch, at 830am it was LEGO Harry Potter which you can see in the box here https://www.amazon.com.au/primeday

It's possible it could be one of those deals, although the majority of sales/deals were released at midnight.

          • @hamza23: Ah okay, that makes sense. I’ll hold out in hope then!

    Love mine!

this or Sony WH-1000XM4? Anyone like to chime in?

    • +5

Just look at literally any Bose 700 post. If you use mic, then bose, otherwise XM4. If you value all the above + sound ability, then Momentum 3.

    • -1

I have not used sony, but bose i well known for their noise cancelation ability and is proven. And if this is how you intend to use it, you wont go wrong with bose. i've used them since qc-15 to current generation, and only upgraded because the new ones looks nicer, or I left my old ones in the plane or airport somewhere.

        I’ve got the xm3 and bose 700.

Noise cancellation on the sony is very slightly better but if I’m paying $330 for sony I would rather the bose with better looks and materials (IMHO)

The mic is also a bit better on the bose but still doesn’t compare to an inline mic or boom mic for work use

        • +1

I have the XM4 and the mics are very poor for phone calls.
The noise cancellation on the XM4 is not as good as the Apple over-ear headphones, but I don't know how they compare to the Bose.
I have a huge head, and I find the Sonys uncomfortable after an hour or so. Tempted to try the Bose.

          • @Scrobo: Worth a try at JB, they have both tethered on display

And I agree with the mic, horrendous for both compared to a proper headset. Both tend to pick up a lot of background noise in an office environment, and even at home the both pick up our TV from the other side of the room

Recommend against using either for work/conference calls unless you're in a private room

          • @Scrobo: I have big ears that stick out and the Sony hurt my ears after 20 minutes due to the shallow ear cups

Bose OTOH are comfortable for hours (deeper angled cups on QC15 and 35 - dunno 700) and I've worn them for 14-hour flights no problemo

      • Not sure if it’s only me but I find that these earphones heat your ears and has caused me ear infection during the wfm situation now.

    • I've had both, I kept the bose. Sony sounds and Anc was good but comfort and mic were rubbish. I use them mainly for work and music but the Sony were not usable for conf calls and I couldn't wear them for longer than 2hrs. Plus I've found multipoint much better on the bose

  • Have they fixed all the issues with this now?

Is Bose going to release a new/slightly upgraded model? I just sold H9i recently, and want (not need) to buy a pair of sth else. Currently I only have qc35 gen1. What I don’t want to happen gain is that a couple of months after I purchase a pair of this 700, Bose releases a new model. This happened to my qc35 gen1 (vs gen 2).

Another option is apples max, but I heard that is heavy.

    • The price is coming down every few weeks so this would suggest a new model is coming.

That is almost trolling. The 10 troubles with the AirPods max in comparison to these Bose:
      1. $570 more
      2. Not compact
      3. $570 more
      4. Joke of a case, heck it isn’t even functional
      5. $570 more
      6. Does not support Apple spacial sound even though it is an Apple product
      7. $570 more
      8. Lightning connector instead of USB-c
      9. $570 more
      10. The price is an absolute insult.

And I say this as a long term machead and someone looking forward to the Apple headphone release.

      • Apple Spatial Audio does work with the AirPods Max.
The audio quality is leaps and bounds over my XM4s, I haven't tried the Bose but am tempted by this deal for the Bose.

Sure the apple case is useless, however there are plenty of really great 3rd party cases out there.I personally I don't use the manufacturer case with any of my headphones, 3rd party ones tend to have better features/more options to find something that suits individual needs

$570 more than this Ozbargain deal, sure. but if you compare cheapest these have been vs cheapest Max have been then it's like $300-350 more. That's a fair chunk of change, but the ANC is considerably better, the sound is better, they are a different tier of product.

I wish the Max had USB-C, but it also means my existing chargers all over the house, in the car etc. can charge the Max.

        • Yeah I guess I will wait for a 50% sale or the Max 2 and see what they are like. Meantime I might get the XM4 instead.

      • I am not sure I understand your beef with air pods. Has it got anything to do with they being $570 more?

        • Not at all.

          It’s because they are $570 more. $570!

  • price match at jb-hifi and use discounted GC to get further 5% off ?

  • Is the multipoint on these still horribly broken?

Last time I tried these, they would crackle and pop to no end unless I kept only one device connected.

That and the occassional "beeeeeeeee" noise and the headset would reboot. :S
