Same price for the black one on Amazon

    • Daaaamn! Just bought it at JB, and I am a prime member!! Eff me, should have known better: ALWAYS check comments on OzBargain before committing to a purchase!!!

I selected click and collect so I won't pay more but Ill have to go to the shop when I could have got it shipped for free :(

    • Not sure if I will use it. But thanks - ordered 1 xD

    • not anymore

    • OOS?

    • No it’s not! It’s 26.93 from 3rd party in black and 69.65 in red…

      • +1

        It’s called being

        OUT OF STOCK FROM AMAZON

Looks like you’re late to the party

        • Ah well not a big drama. These things are around for a while and a lot of pros and cons. I just wipe my phone. Should do the same.

      • This when I wrote that.

  • Heck I'll use my $5 bing reward for this. Nevermind I got to big of a phone.

    • +2

Is that a phone in your pants or are you just happy to see me?

      • Is this a stick-up, or are you just happy?

  • -3

    Landfill…
    I wouldn't even pay $0.01 for this.

    • -3

      When?

      • +2

        never

        • +10

          Nah, when did anyone ask?

          • -3

            @Schmiddler: Funny joke!
Reminds me of the time I was at the childcare centre.
Looks like you still belong there.

            • +9

@ets27: If I see an opportunity to stir up a grumpy person you best believe I'm taking it.

Try relaxing once in a while, it makes life a lot easier :)

  • +1

Can I sanitise my hands with this?

    • +1

Yes, but you'll also burn your skin. :)

    • +3

      something something cancer

    • +1

why not. Can also get some cool tan.

      • +1

especially for those places the sun can't usually reach. Pretty useful really.

  • +1

    Will Samsung Note phones fit?

    • +2

      https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07YX6WCLH

there's a review which talks about it not being able to accommodate a Note 10+ which I happen to have. Will find out when it arrives tmr and if it doesn't, just gonna return it.

    • +1

Designed to fit larger phones like iPhone 8+ and Google Pixel 3

Quick google search suggest they're about 5.5 inch which is pretty small

      • If it can fit an iPhone 8 Plus, compare your phone size on the right here

        • -2

Comparing sizes now? Keep it in your pants.

    • Yes I have a note 20

    • Just tried my note 8 fits well its collapsable style..dont know if it does the job bought it coz it was cheap😁

  • -6

Replace harmful chemical with harmful ray?

    • +2

The UV rays stay inside the device so it won't harm you.

      • Sure. Each to their own. I prefer a quick spray and wipe job to sanitize my phone.

    • +4

      harmful ray?

Have you ever heard about the biggest source of UV radiation that affects billions of humans everyday - the sun?

      • -4

        And we need more?

        • -4

          covid is a conspiracy

      • +2

UV-C is fortunately blocked by our atmosphere (we'd be a pool of mucous without it or some such stuffs). UV-C destroys DNA much, much faster than A & B.

    • -1

I have these all over the house. I also have a photo of Dan Andrew’s as my screen saver which make me feel extra safe

  • +2

Or this one with wireless charger from Kmart for $2.5
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/630819

  • Hard to find sizing to know if larger phones will fit. Reviews suggest some may struggle to fit and if it doesn't fit (can't zip) then it won't even start up.

  • Very handy if you are Superman

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and it seems just a fraction too large

  • +1

I'm sure there are quite a few of these on Golgafrinchan Ark B.

  • -6

isnt this one better ?? has wireless charging too :)

    • -1

Why neg it if you don't know for sure?

  • I don't think my S21 Ultra will be fitting into this…

    • +4

I did not know this. I just bought one from Amazon. So, I'm now thinking to sell my S21 Ultra.

      • +2

        A true OzB move.

      • +1

I'm thinking of selling my S21 Ultra that I'm awaiting delivery from Samsung..

    • Samsung make one, I saw it for like $200 at Harvey norman, i think were on ozbargain for $50 a while back

    • damn was about to buy. did u try?

  • +2

i just sit my phone near the uv lights i have to light up my uranium glass collection, too easy

  • What size phones does this fit? Will it fit my iPhone 7 Plus? And does it actually work?

    • In Amazon , description says it'll fit IPhone 8+ (so 7 should fit i guess)

      • -1

Ok, is it effective tho or should I cancel my order?

        • i have never tried it myself mate , 5$ is price of a coffee in Melbourne so no loss in buying and trying

          • +1

@SamyKn: True, thanks for your reply. I won’t cancel my order as these would be awesome for cleaning out my earbuds from time to time.
            And $5 is hardly anything

          • @SamyKn: but then you miss out on the coffee.

            • @andresampras: hahah , I drink tea anyway :P

            • @andresampras: But I have a coffee machine at home so not missing out!
And I drink tea most of the time

  • +1

another 2.50$ saving option if you are not after the specific brand. https://www.kmart.com.au/product/phone-uv-steriliser/3417301

  • +1

Is there proven science behind these doing anything?

    • +1

UV-C does sterilise (just google it) but we need verification this product actually works.

  • +1

I'm crying…bought one for 50 bucks in Feb

    • +1

ouch - did you use it much? any good?

      • +5

unopened in the box still, but the box is nice lol

        • +1

lol ur selling us on the box!

        • +1

Well, if it was only $50 and it is still sitting in a box, I would say that is a very cheap "lesson learned" compared to other purchases most OzBargainers made which are still sitting unopened.

          Trust me, I know :(

        • -1

If you bought that from JB-HIFI, try returning for refund/gift card saying that you do not want it.

        • Buy another one now before the prices shoot up… dollar cost averaging lol

  • +10

Looks better then the kmart one, but do I need this? I have never sanitised my phone and I'm fine. Do I use this after I hand my phone to a mate to check something and when they give it back I grab the phone with tongs and put it in the UV Ray cleaner bag to clean it?
Or is it good enough to just use it once a day at the end of the day after the germs have already been on the phone all day from when you put it down on a table at a Cafe, a desk at work, or dropped it on the ground… and you held it, put it to your face? only a fool would buy this and think it protects them lol

    • +3

Did you neg it just because you don't need it?

      • -7

I think the neg is well deserved for this useless product and stand by my comment

        • +4

I think the neg is well deserved for this useless product and stand by my comment

If you refer to the Voting Guidelines, you'll notice that negging because a product isn't useful to you is not a valid use of a neg.

    • +1

I thought 5 litres of Isopro Alcohol were standard issue for ozbargainers

  • +6

Finally, I thought I was resigned to a lifetime of suffering bacterial infections. This is a must have device, up there with my she-pee, an item no man should live without.

  • +1

A present for the germophobe in your life.

  • +1

did anyone try fitting his johnny in it?

    • Your father.

    • for tanning? when you go black, you never go back..

      • i don't mind having a bbc

        • tbc*

It's ok some people like it compact.

  • +15

Seems like a pointless product if you ask me. Purchased anyway.

    • +2

      lolz

      Love Ozbargain comments <3

    • +2

      Yay consumerism!

  • +6

I actually use it to sanitise my earphones, earbuds etc. Handy tool!

    • +1

      Actually a great idea

      • +2

I've had an ear infection earlier in the ear. Touch wood, haven't had one since ….

        • +1

Keys, credit card, wallets as well

    • Yup I use it for my Sony earbuds. Since it's basically impossible to clean with alcohol and a really easy way to destroy them.

      UV EZ

    • I got one because you pointed this out. Got it for free from redeeming a bing JB giftcard.

  • That should read "earlier in the year" lol
