Is there any easy way of getting a map view of 'outside the borders of X, Y, Z'?

    • Google maps.

    • The Pacific Fair Passport is only available to visitors who live beyond the borders of postcodes 4225 Coolangatta, 4207 Yatala and 4272 Mt Tamborine.

Despite being a silly way of wording it - these regions indicate the Northern (Yatala), Southern (Coolangatta) and Western (Mt Tamborine) limits of the Gold Coast municipal area. It's safe to assume if you you reside under "Gold Coast City Council" you are ineligible.

It should have just been a range of postcodes excluded.

Lolwut, those three postcodes are pretty physically separated, Tamborine is pretty damn rural and far from Pacific Fair as well. What a completely illogical exclusion list. Unless they mean you need to live beyond all three (and some imaginary line connecting them all) but that wording is a bit odd if that's their intent.

  • If I have this voucher, does that mean I can drive up from Melbourne to spend it?

Even if I was always more of an Australia Fair guy myself.

    • As long as you an aussie

      • -2

60,000 year Aussie ancestry or 300 or 3?

        • +1

Title says for everyone but description is targeted for aussies.

          • @Chchnu: 👍 but …… Surely they won’t check passport!

@Bargain-hunt: How they enforce this is up to them but the deal is incorrect as itbcurrently says its for all.

      • T&Cs say ‘Australian residents’ you can be a resident and not identify as being ‘Aussie’ eg people on temp work or student visas who don’t intend on staying in Aus forever. I think they just want people to show an Australian ID with their address so all the Gold Coast people don’t try and claim it using overseas ID.

  • Can some one from Bondi fly up there to get this?

  • Thanks TA. Going up there next week (as long as Qld doesn't close the border).

  • Bogan south side only?

  • A few thoughts/questions from an ineligible GC resident:

    • has anyone done this who can comment on whether the privilege pass has an expiry date? I’m just wondering if it’s worth holding on to the pass after guests leave to use the discounts

    • 1 per household, I wonder if they match addresses electronically or if it’s worthwhile presenting to the desk separately from people you live with.

    • this is a good deal for people coming from tweed heads, which is less than 30mins away - a bit further for people coming from Beenleigh or north, or Canungra and beyond.

    • pacific fair is a great centre for people with kids (and probably others too). There’s lots of free play areas and indoor and outdoor space. EMF junior is also pretty fun, for toilet trained kids you can do ‘shop and drop’ and they’ll look after your mini human for $30/hr. They also run pretty good free school holiday activities which are worth booking in advance for.

  • Righto who abused it in the past from these suburbs 4225, 4207, 4272 and spoiled the party for the rest ?

  • +1

Just dropped in & grabbed a voucher. Pretty sure they entered my details (licence) to a dBase. It wasn’t just handed over! Card states 3yr expiry from date of issue. Used at JB. Thanks TA…

    • Details definitely recorded, as you would expect. I used the card immediately but later noticed that they had written the issue date as 1 Feb 2021. No idea why they did that.
