  • Is this slim like the HP work laptops?

    • does say Light, Sleek and Stylish
Weighing in at just 1.38 kg and with a thickness of 15.9 mm, the streamlined design doesn't just look great, it means you can push the hinge to nearly 180°. You'll get the best view in the house, whether you're kicking back or right at the edge of your seat.

      • even when sitting on the loo?

These are very slim and light yet are built very well. The chassis is an aluminum unibody that is very similar to Apple laptops.

Very good price for this laptop.

    300 nits

    • Is that good or not good?

      • It’s riffing off a MBP and a which is 500 nitts, fwiw.

MacBook Pro is also twice the cost and half the functionality

Actually it looks like 250nits with below average colour reproduction and very slow pixel response times (if this is the same model):

I really thought it would have had a better panel being marketed as a premium ultrabook.

The stats given are the same as my old Acer Swift 3 14". I think it might even be the same panel - which isn't good. The bad pixel response times are so slow that it can't keep up with 30fps video footage. Don't even think about 60fps video or gaming, it's a blurry mess.

On that note, I'll be revoking my upvote as I don't think a panel that bad belongs in a premium ultrabook.

    • For this price 300 nits is as good as you can get

  • It's not a touch display is it?
    Dang it

    • No

Most of the time, unless the laptop is a true 2in1 that can be used in Tablet mode, I can't stand the screen being a touchscreen and disable that feature. Also, more of a problem when people point to things on the screen at work and accidentally select something…

I'm the opposite, being accustomed to touch screens on phones and tablets, I find laptops without touch very limiting.

        I'd send it back. :)

    Something something chinese spy something…..

..Unlike all your other made in China phones and electronics?

    • Clueless, the processor and software is born and bred in the States, just do a Windows reset.

      • What about BIOS level backdoors? Surely someone who isn't clueless would know about these?

    • spy someone searching for cheap bargains? come on man, be realistic…

      • I smell a troll. Don't feed the troll.

the webcam positioning is a joke lol https://youtu.be/H0KfyF6TZ3k?t=570

      • Quit drugs and Hollywood craps please, you are not the ONE.

  • Keep in mind that I’m pretty sure the RAM on this is soldered on and not upgradable. So you are stuck with 8GB if you ever want to upgrade the RAM.

    • 8GB is not enough for basic use these days. Chrome and Edge are memory hogs.

When will this meme stop being reposted? I have 25 tabs open right now and Chrome is using 1.1gb.. leaving plenty for Office, Zoom etc that you'd use on a basic laptop like this.

        • Not a meme..
          Chrome is a memory hog

    • Just read that on the 14” ram is not upgradeable but is on the 15” version

  • CPU: AMD R5-3500U Launch Date Q1 2019
this laptop does not allow extenable.

  • isn't this a better deal? D15 bigger screen for $719 delivered the only downside i can see is this one has 256gb vs 512gb
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/373450520665?

    • Much worse. The D15 actually has a smaller battery and a bigger screen, so much less endurance and half the storage.

    • huawei Ryzen 3 3500u / Ryzen 7 3700u all release at 1/2019, its old version;
i just brought lenovo https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/234047933501 much better cpu R5 5500U release at 2021; similar price $732

Plastic case and godawful screen though.

        • budget is king, same price i focus on cpu

          • @ZTE: Seriously, that's like saying I got a great deal on a smartphone with awesome specs and a resistive touch display. Outdated tech is outdated

          • @ZTE: I hate to to tell you but in these thin laptops CPU doesn't make much difference, they all throttle due to poor heat management as soon as they spin up for a while.

      • +1

That Lenovo screen is TN and 250nits… 45%NTSC… ughh that is terrible.

  • Would this be good to play Old School RuneScape on?

  • All these comments about the awful screen. How come you never see any posts with good screen apart from Mac?
