  • I don't know the mic quality of this one but I know the $39 gaming microphone with metal arm is incredible quality with a few system tweaks.

4.5 average review, can't go wrong at this price.

What exactly makes it a “gaming” microphone?

      LEDs of course

      The marketing department.

  • Got one, should be good enough for basic stuff atleast. Just a note, I thought mine was dead but it turned out my windows privacy settings had mic off for app use

  • Can the LED be turned off?

    • There's a button on the microphone base which mutes the microphone and switches the blue LED off. It doesn't seem like you can switch off the LED without muting the microphone.

    • No but just cover it with black tape or something

Yea a bit of electrical tape should do the trick and blend in fairly well.

I picked this and the $0.50 one up, mostly just for Zoom calls at home and office since my webcam has a dodgy mic. I'm surprised and really pleased with the sound quality of both, but this "gaming" mic seemed to pick up a small amount of keyboard noise (when the $0.50 one didn't at all). Playing with the direction on the arm, though, and that makes a big difference. I like having a mute button actually on the device and easily reachable; LEDs aren't my thing, but it's nifty having a visual indicator that mic is/isn't muted. Really can't fault it, especially for $2.50.

  • Picked one up and have been testing it. Seems to record a lot of static during silences, compared to my laptop mic that records no static at all. Have tried it on different USB ports and devices too. NVIDIA Broadcast manages to remove the static with its noise cancellation feature, but then there's a pop sound every so often with this mic. It's good for the price if you don't have a mic at all, but seems even an in-built laptop mic can outperform it.

  • Good for it's price. Picked up the last one at my local store yesterday since it's lockdown time.
