    Already forgotten ebay lol

    • +1

      who's ebay?

      • does everyone pay for Prime these days?

        • +10

at $60 per year with unlimited free delivery, prime video, prime music, prime games, prime books etc — it's much better value IMHO

          • +3

@lunchbox99: It’s totally worth it IMO. Most orders fulfilled by Amazon are delivered the next day or two.

Some good shows on Prime Video and of course good deals on prime day.

          • @lunchbox99: Prime games?

          • @lunchbox99: For small items amazon is 2-3 times the price though. Ebay is generally far cheaper on the small stuff.

        • +2

I have ebay plus and prime.

        • +1

No, its deigned to keep you on Amazon. I don't buy anything there. That's not me insisting others do that same, I just find their business model repugnant, their treatment of workers repellent and Bezo's himself the ultimate caricature of some evil Sith lord. I would rather not deal with them

  • Also $279 for the S2721Q (non-adjustable stand version) - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/392940772734?epid=20047046384

Likely matching lowest ever on that model…

But damn I'd like an excuse to get the AW3821DW

    • I've been debating between the QS and Q version. Is the lack of stand a significant issue?

      • +3

You cant buy the stand separately, so for $20 its probably a good idea. I didnt get the adjustable stand and i kind of regret it, but Im not working from home 5 days a week any more so I can deal with it when i do use it.

      • +4

I'd only suggest the Q version if you're planning on using a monitor arm with VESA mount.

If you want to use the stand, get the QS, so you can adjust the height - the Q stand looks very low.

      • +2

Bought the QS version. I did not realise there was only a $20 difference which is insignificant.

Whelp! The ETA they gave me is 27-Jul. That's surprisingly long!

        • +1

Good choice picking the QS - I have the Q and wish I’d stumped up the extra $$ for the adjustable stand!

PS - you can generally safely ignore Dell’s ETA - every time I’ve ordered (both directly from dell and via their eBay store) my order has arrived well before the estimated date.

          • @jackary: Really? how long did it take yours to arrive? I've seen like 40 days+ estimated delivery times before during previous deals and they have always turned me off from purchasing a Dell monitor, but I'd really like to try one out.

            • @BHolyCow: I got mine last time in about a week and a half. Seems they under promise and over deliver on ETA,

            • @BHolyCow: I ordered a S2721Q on 30/03, was given an ETA of 05/05-13/05, and actually received it on 13/04. So 2 weeks! Don’t panic - as jimmy says Dell tend to under promise and over deliver :) other users have had similar from the many previous Dell monitor deals.

            • @BHolyCow: email response from Dell

Generally, orders are processed and fulfilled within 7-15 working days. The delivery period we have set on eBay is due to the volume of orders we are processing during this sale period. Unlike in our Dell website where orders would automatically flow in our Dell system, eBay orders would need to be manually processed as eBay is a different selling platform. We are also taking into account the possible delays in the delivery from our warehouse and courier side. Hence, we have purposely placed our listings on a long lead time to ensure we don't disappoint with a late delivery by over-promising and under-delivering to our customers.

We work hard in getting the units to our customers the soonest possible time but we are afraid we are unable to help if you need the item in a week time as we generally take longer than our Dell website. If the timeframes are too long for you though, we will understand if you will opt-in to cancel the orders for a full refund. Let us know how you wish to proceed.

      • +1

QS has height adjustable stand and can swivel to portrait orientation too. Q doesn't have either of these.

    • im trying to convince myself not to get the AW3821DW… i keep comparing sizes and quality of similar 34" or 35" ultrawide VA panels… hard comparison

      • I have the same feels, but idk if there are any monitors out there that will match its dimensions for my side moniors.
atm i have 1440p+1440p UW and they line up nicley.
        I don't see any 1600 16:9 on the market?
Maybe buy a 32" 4k and do a custom resolution?

        • Thats my worries also… i currently work on missmatched res screens and its annoying… manageable but annoying. Im tempted to just get the Gigabyte 34 ultrawide and then another 1440p like the S2721DGF to match vertical res.

My uses: Mainly WFH and i currently use 3 screens, but also a little bit of gaming.

          • @quikstix: Get two of the Same whatever they are imo
            Or ultra wide 49"

            • @G-rig: yea had been leaning towards that… 2x Gigabyte g34wqc would be alot of realestate :D

              • +1

                @quikstix: would be wiiiiide..
as long there's enough depth as well (which is why I like the 32")
Even the 24" Dell ultrasharps were great being 16:10 vs 16:9.
                Depends what you want though.

  • S2721DGF or S2721QS for working from home office set up?

Might also hook up the Xbox Series X or PS5 later.

    • +5

I forgot which model, but be mindful.

Some monitors won't be able to downscale the PS5's 4k output to 1440p.

So you'll be stuck with 1080p

    • +2

Would you rather high refresh rate or resolution?

The 4K of the QS will likely take better advantage of the PS5 or Series X, given that despite the fact that they can go over 60hz, most games will only do so at pretty cut down graphical settings.

      • Resolution. So QS it is!

        • +3

Get both, switch to S2721DGF when you need 120Hz, QS when you want 4K.
VRR over HDMI on Q or QS is known to not work properly (according to rtings). Also, Series X won't let you turn on VRR on Q/QS (it's not working properly anyway).

Jokes aside, QS/Q is better if PS5 support is important.

          • @netsurfer: I only have the budget for one and the $299 just comes in under $300 so I can claim in for tax next month!

Between this and all the prime deals I'm broke LOL

            • +1

@zzzman: QS/Q is better if PS5 support is a factor.

            • @zzzman: Will the invoice display pre-discount or post-discount price? I'm assuming it's the former which means you can't deduct the actual $299 in one FY.

              • @ddhar: I’m not sure hmmmm

                Technically I only paid $299?

Can anyone else who’s claimed stuff from eBay with a discount code comment?

                • @zzzman: Did you pay using PayPal? If yes, use the PayPal transaction details and just circle / highlight $299 is what you paid.

                  • @netsurfer: Yes PayPal. That’s what I intended on doing

              • @ddhar: Given you don't actually submit the invoice to the ATO, it would be very easy to argue that you're claiming based on the price you actually paid.

                • @Carrera1963: Technically you could save a screenshot of the Order page (which will show the actual $299 paid).

I'm not sure if they ATO will play hardball and demand an actual invoice (which probably will be printed and included in the monitor box).

                • @Carrera1963: Same would go for price protection claims or if you later sell something, wouldn't worry too much

              • +1

@ddhar: When I ordered a S2721Q from the dell eBay store a few months ago the invoice showed the pre-discount price

              • @ddhar: When I previously bought a monitor on a similar deal, Dell issued an invoice with the pre-coupon value.

            • @zzzman: How much can you claim on tax?

    • +2

The QS, higher resolution is always welcome when you’re staring at your screens for hours doing work and also the PS5 does not work with 1440p, it only does 1080p on 1440p displays and therefore looks quite bad because the 1080p gets blown up on 1440p.

      • I Think the brightness setting and exercising your eyes away from the screen all day would make a realistic difference

    • I bought both - great set up

  • +1

    And S2721d, qhd 2560x1440 is $299 - 20%, about $241.

    • I picked this up for $200 a month or so back, so not the cheapest it's been. Lovely office monitor

  • +1

Still waiting for the S2421HS to come back in stock. Come on Dell, you can do it!

  • +1

    Can't see any USB-C 24 inch monitors :(

  • +6

    LOVEKEANU + AMAZON - PRIME = DELL20

  • 2721DGF All time low?

    • the ebay birthday is about $349. but this one you can use voucher

      • Can't use a voucher with the code.

    • The eBay birthday price was $359 for the monitor

if you bought giftcards in store in woolworths (Swap gift cards (GC) into eBay gift cards) you would have saved 10% (given the rate of woolworths rewards points returned — $100GC was 2000pts = $10, $50GC was 1000pts =$5)

$359 x 0.90 = $323.10 (before any cashbacks, etc) — as we take the EDR pts as 10% off (to be used against future groceries), this was the all time low

if you went through shopback gift cards ~4% off

      $359 x 0.96 = $344.64 (before any cashbacks if valid, etc)

      • Unbelievable that you can get a monitor with these specs for this price. You used to have to buy an Acer Predator to get close and pay at least double this price if you were savvy.

  • Need a price match to get the Dell S3220DGF down to $599 if anyone knows whether it includes these
(paid $680 JB, but got my first one ~$600)
    Cheers,

Edit: $639.20 seems the best on Amazon (but still $40 back)

    • +1

I am looking for a deal of S3220DGF as well, $639 on Amazon - 20(amex offer).
wondering how is the quality of screen, since there are some monitors with similar specs but much lower cost(such as AOC).

      • They are great, I have two. Check out the Rtings review etc.
Prefer Dell over most other (cheaper) brands, the overall quality, warranty and features are better (more i/o ports/adjustability etc)

        • Yeah same been waiting for the 32 qhd 144 hz but no sales

          • +1

@rokkz: Seems to be a current model still (?) but agree not too many deals around for a while now ($600-700 pretty good if can get it, RRP $999)

I don't exactly game much but wanted a setup you can play games on. Mostly for CAD/3d Design/ general use which is doing the job nicely
Sometimes wouldn't mind more real estate. Everyone goes on about 4k, the text would be quite small (certainly on a 27"), but agree for large /ultra wide screen and TVs etc.

Was almost going to get a 4k QS - It was a bit too much effort selling a DGF and then to get 2x QS

        • thanks mate, ordered one.
639 - 20(amex) - 5 (gift card promotion) - 10(amazon promotion), hopefully can get it by this Friday.

          • @wxwsf: That's a great deal, $599 seems to be rock bottom :)
Amex sounds like a handy discount.

I took a screen shot for my price protection claim from amazon, hopefully they approve it now (that was the last one but come on sale a few times a year)

            • @G-rig: i have cancelled the order because Dell just launched new models - S3222DGM and S3422DWG, sales can do 10% off,

              • @wxwsf: Oh right, I got $40 back price protection. May be one more opportunity if the run them out.

Would be a while till the new models are $600. Most likely very similar anyway

                • @G-rig: bought 34 inch just now, it was $799 on website, applied 15% + $20 coupon, paid $659. however, price has dropped to 729, but glitch has been fixed, no more 15% code can be applied.

S3222DGM can be purchased with 15% code for $594.14

                  • @wxwsf: Sounds like a pretty good deal

              • @wxwsf: any confirmed date release date in Australia?

                • @deliriouss: released already, bought 34 inch tonight, ETA next Monday, dont forget 15% off code, lol there was a glitch

                  • @wxwsf: Would you mind to post the links? I cannot seem to find them

                  • @wxwsf: Found them in the official store but it says in store only.

    • cheapest Ive seen was $549, but waiting for that again to grab 3

      • That's cheap.
Just have to wait and turn the OzBargain alerts on I guess

  • +6

already bought 3 s2721dgf. I am blind and pretend don't see this deal

    • Buy 3 more then…

      • if I buy 3 more I can get $150 off with Amex. have to think about

        • Buy 3 more, get $150 off with Amex, make 3 more babies, problem solved.

          • @netsurfer: that's more like a $800,000 cost, far exceeding the budget of $1000 lol

      • +1

        To average down

    • Just checked the sold history on eBay. Someone bought 8 of these lol

      • I bought 3 times first $500 then $400 then $359

        • This guy bought 8 this morning in one transaction after the deal was posted. Maybe for an office?

  • Last time $359.00
    Dell 27 Inch Gaming Monitor S2721DGF QHD QHD 2560 x 1440 - EOFY 21 x mega deals(ebay.com.au) -

THANKS OP!!!!!!! I missed out on the Dell 27 4K UHD Monitor - S2721QS 4K last time but managed to nab one this time around. $299, fantastic screens.

    • How does it compare with Mac M1 screen?

  • omfg thanks op! I was just about to pull the trigger on the dell site for the S2721QS @ $359.

Which of the two recommended for use with Mac Mini m1?
    Dell 27 Inch Gaming Monitor S2721DGF QHD QHD 2560 x 1440 - EOFY 21 x mega deals(ebay.com.au) - $383.25
    Dell 27 4K UHD Monitor - S2721QS 4K 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz AMD FreeSync HDMI(ebay.com.au) - $299

    Main use at home:
    - work (text heavy, app design focus)
    - browsing
    - netflix/amazon/disney/appletv for movies / tv shows (4K HDR content)
    - youtube
    - nintendo switch gaming
    - very light photography edits and video edits

    • QS, sounds like for your needs you don’t need a high refresh rate screen.
For photography/video editing a high resolution screen is better, as well as viewing 4K HDR content. Nintendo Switch output is 1080p at 60hz, so if stretched to 1440p it will look worse than on a 4K display.
Note that you can’t view Disney Plus at 4K on your browser, it will max out at 1080p on Safari and 720p on Chrome. Unfortunately only way to view Disney content at 4K is to use an app such as on a smart TV, tablet etc. which isn’t available on Windows yet

      • thank you :) just pulled the trigger on the S2721QS

    • You’re not gaming on above 60hz from mac mini or switch, so defs go for 4k dell

      • +1

thank you :) just pulled the trigger on the S2721QS

  • Dell S2721QS good for 4k 60 fps on ps5?

    • +1

Works, and a cost effective way to get 4K. HDR400 monitors, don't expect much. Also, 4K on 27 inch isn't the best way to enjoy 4K (larger screen is better).
However, at this price point, I doubt you can find another monitor (other than Q, which doesn't have the height adjustable stand).

      • 4K on 27 inch isn't the best way to enjoy 4K

That is what I am worried about. 32" minimum I would think.

        • +2

Never understood why people think 27inch is too small for 4k, you can clearly notice the difference over 1440P, and you'd need to use both on 125% scaling as well

          • @cille745: 125% scaling because the icons become too small on 27". 100% scaling would be good.

I've tried 4K on 40" which was too big.

27" I'd suspect would be too small for me as 1080p on 22" is just right. I think 1080p on 24" is a bit too big.

            Just personal preference.

          • -1

@cille745: The fact that you are using scaling (on Windows) is a proof that 27 inch 4K is too small. Yes, I get the "Retina" like feeling. However, your actual usable space is reduced.

Unless your argument is that 27 inch at 100% scaling is VERY comfortable, 4K at 27 inch is too small.

Also, please be aware that we are referring to gaming at 4K so it IS at 1:1/100% scaling.

            • @netsurfer: Just depends what you prioritise I guess, If I'm paying for 4k, it's because I want that retina experience, If I wanted more room to work, I'd simply grab another monitor
