    I've had to replace a couple of joysticks. Not that hard to open up and replace the batteries.

      Any harm from buying the cheapest set from ebay?

        Got mine from aliexpress and it came with the require screwdrivers. Probably no harm with buying from ebay, it would be faster if from Australia but more pricey.

        The ifixit guide is pretty good.

        The missus is happy there's no more joycon drift.

        For batteries you just need to make sure it's a reputable seller/product. I bought a 3ds battery which turned out to be a dud and I couldn't prove to their satisfaction that it was faulty and couldn't get a refund.

        Edit: I've tried replacing the shells too. This didn't turn out great as some edges weren't cut out properly and the internals made the whole thing bulge slightly and the buttons didn't stick out far enough.
