Great price for a great mouse

  • Lowest I have seen for this is 45$

  • +1

Oh great, now I need to buy one and return it to OW.

  • Even for $45 it is a great deal already.

  • +4

Wow I think this is an all time low. And they normally charge $90 for these…

Could even price match at Officeworks to get it down to $34.20 if you're desperate to save another $1.80.

    • Cheers for that pointer. I'm going to do that at my local OW as its OOS at any of the JBs near me

    • +1

if you're talking in the past couple of years, it is.
but it was $20 back in 2017: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/299380

      • Curious if $19.95 is the real purchase price for the retailers.
        Could be lower than that?

  • +3

Thanks OP! I was on the fence at $45 even though that was already a great price. This tipped me over

    • +4

I hope you are ok after tipping over and don't need to make a Workcover claim. Falling from a fence can hurt.

  • +3

Just bought one from JB Hifi last week. Any chance I can get the $9 back?

    • Return and rebuy?

    • They usually have a 14 day price guarantee. Go in and ask.

    • Buy this one and return the same with old receipt. Simple.

  • +1

Thanks OP, didn't end up buying for 45$

    Definitely buying now lol

  • damn this is a hot deal

  • +3

Great mouse. Love mine. Great for switching between multiple devices easily. Has bluetooth and a 2.4ghz usb dongle. I also really like the infinite scroll, but it's not for everyone.

  • GG, bought it last Wednesday from JB HiFi for $45 and started using it already……

    • awesome mouse though

    • but one more and refund $45?

      • How do you refund it if it not faulty?

      • with sydney lockdown right now, not so convenient to go back to the stores now

        • is sydney in lockdown?

          • @SnoozeAndLose: semi-lockdown. masks everywhere you go. (for 7 days at the moment)

          • +1

@SnoozeAndLose: Sorta - anyone within Greater Sydney can't leave Greater Sydney, and there's masks/capacity limits/etc in place.

Sydney CBD was pretty empty yesterday though, seems most people are spooked enough already to stay home without needing an explicit lockdown.

        • Unless one needs this urgently, a click and collect order can be collected later too, I once collected something after 40 days.

          • @wordsmith: Lol that reminds me I've bought stuff on click and Collect and have never picked it up

      • Can you do that with office works?

  • +1

Ugh do I bother returning the Amazon one?

    • In the same boat. No, but buy another one instead.

    • I think Amazon returns are tricky if it's just change of mind, you may have to pay return shipping.

      • +2

returned plenty of stuff with amazon, not one problem so far with change of mind.

        • Thanks for confirming that.

        • do they refund you the shipping cost?

          • +1

@sonic2011: I am a PRIME member and return shipping for me is free (applicable on Amazon AU and not for Amazon Global) i.e. Amazon generates a return label and I just stick that on and post it. Not sure if this is also true for non PRIME members.

            • @ozioziozi: I'm a prime member, and they want to charge me $7 to return?

              • @atlas: I have returned a few times and never had to pay for shipping but these were mostly small items (clothes, shoes etc.). May be they charge for big items. I see that the items that I bought from Amazon where the seller is Amazon AU, they didn't charge for return shipping but for the orders where the seller was Amazon US then they were charging for return shipping.

        • I think it depends how quickly you do the return and what option you select as the reason for refund.

      • Amazon return policy is awesome, sometimes they will give you a refund and tell you to keep the product if the product is damaged and not worth returning

  • Error in this reply - mod pls delete

You have to "report" the post if you want to delete it

    This is a good mouse.

  • How is this versus say an MX Master? It looks like a simplified version of it (smaller thumb "wing" and less buttons) - sounds like it would perform well too?

    • +2

Pretty similar in terms of size. (MX being a bit larger of the two - both are "full size")

The major different is that the MX Master will work on reflective surfaces. The M720 does not work on reflective surfaces.

There are other variances, MX Master has horizontal scrolling and the vertical scroll has a better feel. On the downside, the MX Master switching button is on the bottom which is a bit of a nuisance to swap devices.

The 720 is much cheaper but the MX Master is definately the better mouse

      • +5

The M720 is a fair bit smaller than the Master (I end up posting this picture in just about every M720 deal)

        • A very useful image it is though!

        • +1

          Give this man a medal.

      • Thanks for the detail mate!

Will probably pick up the M720 as a spare for my OG Master MX as I'm worried something is going to fail on it sooner rather than later. Don't need reflective surface handling nor horizontal scrolling, but having the switch button on top could actually be handy!

        • +1

          the 720 has horizontal scrolling.

    • M720 is smaller, easier device switch, amazing battery life. Not as good surface compatibility.
      Different hand feel obviously subjective.

It's the better mouse for a laptop bag for sure.
The choice is mostly subjective, and price.

  • great for use with multi devices, and with bluetooth,
    but how's the lag?

  • +1

Great price! Lowest I've seen, The Unifying Receiver on its own worth around $20.

    • Oh, does it come with the receiver? I wasn't sure

      • Yep

  • Just a pity the sliders on the bottom aren't bigger and it's not rechargeable. Otherwise I like mine from the Amazon deal.

    • +3

True, but the battery lasts about 2 years. I bought mine in early 2018 and only recently changed the battery from the original.

      • Yeah but it makes it weigh more than is ideal. It's about as heavy as my MX Master.

    • +10

I view using battery as a pro not a con as it only take 1 second to change the battery but it takes much longer to recharge

      • +4

And when the battery is dead, the mouse is dead.

        • +1

          Eneloop

          • +1

@relentless: I was talking about the mouse with internal battery.

    • +1

I think I will prefer replaceable battery over rechargeable battery. I am currently using Logitech MX Anywhere 2 and battery generally lasts a month for me. Sometimes the mouse dies when I am in the middle of a meeting, presenting (which I do multiple times a day, every day) and it's annoying when the battery dies while I am in the middle of a presentation. Considering M720's battery lasts for 2 years, I would prefer not having to have a dead mouse in the middle of a meeting.

      • Windows 10 tells you the battery level in Bluetooth settings

        • +1

Not sure if it's accurate though. I checked a day ago and it said "50%" and the mouse died the next day.

  • Bought a couple, thanks

  • Bought a backup one with gift cards
    Thanks OP!

  • +1

    Bought one. Great mouse.

  • Great mouse, been using mine for over 3 years now.

  • $36 is the price at Officeworks now too. Ordered from there for convenience.

    • Yeah but cheaper with GC

  • +10

Just a note for anybody buying this mouse - don't complain to Logitech support that your mouse is broken because the scroll wheel randomly seems to change between clicky/free scroll…
Turns out the button below the scroll wheel controls the scroll wheel type and I never bothered to read the manual so looked like a complete moron 😂

    • +1

      lol
but how good is that turbo scroll

      • +2

It's awesome haha. I thought I'd hate it, but I use it quite a bit!

  • +1

Just picked up two and its actually a good mouse and would recommend at this price!

  • Dang. Bought this for $70 Nov last year….

  • +4

$36 on Amazon now for those who prefer.

    • One to four week wait for delivery though.

      • They normally secure new stock much quicker than that. Ordered one.

  • +1

Emailed my local JB HI-Fi. They are happy to refund me the price difference. I bought this at $45 last week,

  • Great price for a mouse, but I am already happy with my Logitech M585 ….

  • Excellent, I’ve been waiting for a deal to replace my RSI-inducing mouse at work.

  • Is there an equivalent priced (wifi and bluetooth) keyboard that doesn't empty batteries every month and also competitively priced at <$40 or 50.
