Back at the all time low - $19. I believe you can upgrade to the ps5 version better graphics, not like the one that released on PS Plus. Too my knowledge this is not equivalent to the intergrade release. Enjoy

Only buying this for the PS5 upgrade. Already have it for PS Plus.

The loading time reductions alone are worth $19.

      • There are noticeable load time differences on a PS5 between the PS4 vs PS5 versions? I didn't know that would make a difference.

      • Loading times? I already have the PS Plus PS4 vers, how is the disk vers going to increase load times?

        • +3

The PS Plus PS4 version is not upgradable to the PS5 version, while the disc version is. The PS5 version utilises the fast SSD fully, where as the PS Plus PS4 version cannot. The PS5 version also has better visuals and performance.

      • could just install it to an ssd….

        • +3

Yes, it does reduce load times and reduces pop ins, but not to the same extent the PS5 upgraded version does. Plus the PS5 version looks and plays better. I had the PS4 PS Plus version installed to an external SSD on my PS5, I got this disc version from EB Games and it is even faster, as well as the better visuals and performance.

It let's you upgrade to the PS5 version, but doesn't include the new DLC - Yuffie's Story.

Still cheaper purchasing this and the DLC separately, than buying Intergrade.

  • Didn't get it during EB, but got it now on Amazon, thanks OP! Was going to wait for complete version or something like that, but don't think it will happen in years giving that they split into so many DLC.

  • +3

Back in the day I purchased a $100+ limited edition FF15 game on release day.

That obviously didn't include any DLC cause it wasn't developed then.

I'm going to wait until they consolidate all of FF7 DLC and re-release it.

I don't agree with their business model, but I understand they want to milk the franchise for more profits.

Isn't that what Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is? (The one in the PS5 case). Its just cheaper to buy this and the DLC separately.

If you are going to be waiting for all of FF7R to be in one case before buying, you will be waiting atleast 5-6 years considering only part 1 out of 3 is out.

      • You're correct!!

I honestly didn't think of it that cause how emotionally scarred I was previously lol.

Either way I'll wait for another sale, cause I'm sure it will be cheap again by the time I get around to playing it (massive backlog off other games)

  • Can't add to cart. Gone already?

  • That didn't last long.

  • Ummed and aaahed a moment too long, all gone now.

    • You can still pick up a copy at your local EB Games for $19.00 or if you want to do it in true ozbargain style, a pre-owned copy is $18.00.

I'm assuming that you'll need to continue using the disc for the upgrade and that it wouldn't apply to the PS Plus version after downloading?

    • Correct. PS+ version doesn't have PS5 upgrade, only disc/digital purchase.

    • As part of the upgrade, it asks you to remove your PS4 version (even that PS Plus digital version).

A possible workaround / hack is to move the PS Plus version to a secondary external hard drive (not your primary one) and have the PS5 upgrade version on your internal SSD. In the event you want to "swap" back to PS4 version or that PS Plus version, move the PS5 version to your primary external hard drive. Temporary switch to secondary external hard drive when you want to play the PS Plus version. Tedious, and annoying because every single step requires safely remove external USB drive.

      • I think if you're going to go for the PS5 upgrade you can just remove the PS Plus version as it will still be registered in your library should you ever want to download it again.

        • It's important to upload the PS4 save game (only 1 allowed) first, then do the PS5 upgrade - since you need to delete the PS4 version.

Honestly, I don't get Sony. If Sony are treating them as different versions, then why we cannot have both installed. So, for PS5 version upgrade, you have to remove the PS4 version, yet they are different so you still have to manually do that save game upload (and you can only choose 1 out of 10 save games). It's okay to have them treated as separate versions (in fact, they are), but just let us have both installed.

  • My only buying option seems to be $167.95 from LatestBuy Australia. Who can well and truly eff off!

  • Got my copy from EB at the same price

    • no stock what so ever around my area. home delivery cost $14.95…

  • yeah paid like 15 bucks for this months ago at eb games brand new its a really good game on PS4 totally get it.

This deal is over but it is still available at EB Games.

The FF7 Remake on the PS Plus cannot upgrade to the PS5 version, while this disc version can. The difference between the two is both subtle and tremendous. The tweaks to the visuals, to the performance, and to the reduced load times makes it a joy to play and worth paying the $19, even if you have the PS Plus version. I played the PS Plus FF7 Remake on an SSD on the PS5 and the PS5 version is still much faster to load, the only chore is having to stand up and put the disc in.

I think PS Plus collection and PS free games are smart moves from Sony. I didn't have issue with changing discs with PS4. However, getting used to digital games with those 'free' digital games. Now, finding it annoying to swap discs (and those recent tempting OZB deals are making things worse… pile of shame discs is growing again…).

  • Two left in stock, hurry.

  • Still available now for stock available on June 29th.

  • FYI back in stock as of Monday 11:30am, picked one up. Cheers OP!

  • I ordered mine last week when this came up and not being delivered until Friday! That's not up to Amazon's usual standard.
