Man, sorry OP, just a rant.
    These are getting worse value.

St George and Bank of Melbourne offer 60k points for $99 a years with the same expenditure.

    • It is $99 a year for 60k points I think.

this is $99 a year + $51 opt in for the Qantas Program = $150 first year.
Bank of Melbourne/St George is $99 flat fee

Although if you're an existing customer this would be worth it.

        • Bank of Melbourne takes a long time after you do the qualify spend.. unlike NAB!!!

          • @skinny: Churners can't be choosers.

Agree that NAB is on the ball though.
Even pro rata refund the annual fee

            • @Drakesy: We play by the rules the bank ask.. don't blame me!

edit: being good customers does not work!

        • Sorry my bad. Wow this i did not know.

Pretty lame on Westpac part for doing this considering noone else does.

        • If you're not a westpac customer, you can open an everday account first and then sign up to this deal (this is what I've done).

There is a $5 monthly fee for the everyday account but this can be waived by a $2k deposit every month (which can be withdrawn or used to pay off the credit card).

    • I agree, they are getting worse and worse… I've already got ANZ and this is the next best thing that is close to free for me.

  • Wait do you need to pay $50 if you’ve already got a Qantas Frequent Flyer account?

    • Yep, it's the annual fee for opting into earning Qantas Frequent Flyer Points.
      Many banks wave this.

      • Ah gotcha. Geez I was gonna say, Amex don’t charge me this haha. Man Weatpac should be waiving that $50 too for this deal, they never compete in the reward cards sector .

      • right… on my previous Westpac Altitude Qantas Platinum they said - This fee will be waived for the first year ($50).

  • i guess they wont let existing non rewards cards do a product transfer over to this offer unless a new credit check / application is done?

I can't find enough to spend $3k in 90 days. Posters need to post faster. Currently don't have Yak meat slices and Windows 12.

Anyone applied for an ANZ card lately? I've churned and burned ANZ cards for years, no issues, cards arrive in a week. But now card services is outsourced to India and has now been over a month, 8 phone calls going nowhere.

Anyone know if there is anorther way (branch or an Aussie contact)? For a Black card, the experience has been a disgrace.

    • My recent experience with an anz black card took 2 months.

  • Can I get bunnings vouchers or are these flights only? Kinda redundant if they are.

    • Look at the Qantas store.

60k points and currently 20,850 gets you $100 bunnings card. Not as great as the last ANZ deal that got me $550 worth of gift cards.

  • I applied for a Westpac card in March and got conditional approval then got rejected after submitting all the paperwork… I've since cancelled a card and was thinking about applying for this one. Just wondering if that conditional approval would void my eligibility for the bonus points?
