    Allied Gaming

    That's Techfast!

    • Correct! Though strictly speaking we are sponsored by their Allied Gaming brand and not Techfast.

It costs more to use someone else's computer instead of your own?

    • +2

Perhaps I should have made the title clearer. The non-BYO option is for people that just want to play our console, table top and AFK tournaments. We don't have any PCs available for rent, sorry.

Fingers crossed no more COVID issues

A LAN party near my place! Gee I wish I was a teenager again! Good memories!

  • Are women allowed?

    • +2

Of course! Absolutely anyone is welcome as long as they are over 18! At our last event our attendance was approximately 25% female.

      • Are you lgbtq+ friendly ?

        • +1

Definitely! We are friendly to absolutely everyone and anyone acting unfriendly towards others will be asked to leave.

          • @Jabob: Thank you for creating a safe environment. I will definitely think about bring my mum now.

            • @Pandabargain: No worries! We really just want to bring gamers together to play games and that's something that absolutely everyone should be able to enjoy!

Back before we all had decent Internet.

Would go to LANs for CS, and stay to fill up our HDDs via DC with MPEGs and AVIs ;-)

Yes to Free alcohol and drugs!

  • Why would a church have an event like this?

Do you get tax free benefits on any profits?

    • +5

We are a not-for-profit group ourselves, so there isn't really any profits to begin with. Any leftover money is put straight into the next event.

Mitcham Baptist church is a great venue that ticks all of our boxes (3-phase power, high speed NBN, industrial air-conditioners and heaters, heaps of free parking, plenty of chairs and tables, and less than 100m from Mitcham station) and are a big supporter of the event. So it makes complete sense for us to run there.

The event itself has no religious content.

cool. might be keen then tho I am a casual gamer these days

e: Well bought a ticket in excitement. Guess I'm locked in. I can only really play Halo or League of Legends tho. Hope I can find myself a team on the day because I'm not sure I can bring anyone

Awesome! Can't wait to see you there.

We can definitely help you find a team on the day.

      • So you won't be handing out collection plates and putting it into luxury artifacts while benefitting from tax free status?

        Good to know.

        • +1

Hahaha, no. We will be donating a portion of each ticket sale to Wildlife Victoria though! And we are saving up to buy a couple more network switches, but I'm not sure if they count as luxury artifacts!

      • The event itself has no religious content.

And here I was planning on playing religious games.

        • If you want to play Super 3D Noah's Ark we won't stop you :P

      See above when I asked-
      Are you lgbtq+ friendly ?

I also had concerns because it is at a church
