    'bandwith 23mm'

From way back when bandwidth still meant the width of the band. Love it!

      need b28. I'll pass

The classic black looks like it's $38.50 atm https://www.amazon.com.au/Casio-Black-Calculator-Ca53W-1-Wat…

And that's above the average price according to Camel.

Found some for $40 on ebay in all the colours

      Lots of fakes on Ebay.

Weird that they make fakes of cheap casio's but its a thing

People are less likely to question the authenticity of something that usually only sells for $60 normally.
$40 seems more like a discounted price rather than too cheap because it is fake.

No backlight, white on black digits, will be frustrating as hell to read.

    Read reviews… don't impulse buy!

6th picture down is the realistic day light view you'll get.

The negative displays look cool unless you are trying to read the time in direct sunlight that's why I have always given them a miss.

      • I agree! I think they look much better as well. But from a practical use POV they aren't great.

    OG in smart watches.🔥

My Casio Databank probably still have my primary school buddies 6-digit landline numbers in its memory!

  • Is this one of those things where years later down the track they are worth a lot cos people go all Nintendo over them?

    • These are the re-runs. The originals more popular and have been sold non stop since the 80's

A sympathetic marriage of form and function from the horological artisans at Casio. This timepiece is a brutish, yet timeless design with unparalleled aesthetic appeal. A true warrior from the Orient, it competes on even terms with offerings from the big Swiss while sparing its owner a commensurate fiduciary outlay.

Jokes aside, I have a massive soft spot for these watches since childhood. I remember having endless fun with a variant of these watches that also included a remote control. Much shenanigans were had confusing the teacher who just wanted us to stfu and watch the TV.

"Why yes, I am a hobbyist who likes to tinker with mild explosives, how could you tell?"

    • Even scarier when that conversation is mumbled to themselves and you're just walking by (whilst using the calculator function).

      Noice :).

  • A watch so bad it's actually pretty cool

  • The calculator watch was so cool in the 1980's :-)

  • +1

I dont care how hard to read it is, I used to have one and will again!.

NB The original had a backlight which was pretty nasty as well.

  • Wifi, GPS and sim needed.

Got the Casio DBC-32-1A. Love it. Wear it so much more than my more exp watches.

Not that i do it for the attention, but none of my watches get as many comments as the good ol calculator watch. Its kinda cool seeing the excitement in peoples eyes when they see one, im guessing it reminds them of their childhood too

  • Great Kids watch. I still remember the days with the IR blaster and so much fun trolling…

    And they jacked the price

  • +2

The blue & black are now $44.95. However they are cheaper on eBay - $39.95.
