First they added ads to Foxtel and Optus Vision, then during shows on SBS, now they're coming for the bargains.

      • +1

I was pretty pissed when Samsung put ads in the Tv input menu.

        • +1

sony have that too it’s an android thing

One of the reasons why I don't have any Samsung device

      • +1

At least they're not advertising in our dreams yet.

      • +5

Just finished watching it. It’s a bit shit.

      • +1

Looks like people prefer low brow humour.

      • +2

Long-standing popular comedy everyone and their grandma knows the name of. Gets another, everyone loses their minds.

        vs

Oh, they made another PG-13 action film?

    • +33

Wimbledon is on channel 9 in about an hour.

Should I post it as a deal ? or does it just belong in the TV Guide?

      • +5

        thanks i didn’t know! bargain!

      • +1

        I will take 10. Bargain.

      • +1

I just watched the movie, quite enjoyed it.

But your point is right, this is advertising new movies on streaming services are part of the services, why is this posted here?

    • OzBezos

    • Agreed.

  • +40

Half way through it and I understand why it’s not that well received.

Action and alien sequences are cool. Lots of shooting and blow them up action scenes.

But that cheesy plot, non sensical character actions and cringey dialogue…

And damn Chris Pratt is NOT a good actor.

    • +5

i like chris pratt he’s a good recycler

    • +2

IGN's review was brutal. Only got a 3.
      https://youtu.be/dKF9ZmsWT5Q

      • +1

Why do you think it's direct to streaming?

        • +9

Not saying it’s good - but most things have been direct to streaming at the moment, during Covid.

        • +6

The cinema audiences aren't there, thanks to covid. It's the movie industry's major problem at the moment. What to do with the blockbusters that have been made.

        • +8

Cos Amazon paid $200m for it?

        • Watched the news lately?

      • An honest review ! Kudos IGN

        • +1

no, it’s only a review you agree with

    • +2

You made it half way? Wow, I didn't make it that far

    • +20

But that cheesy plot, non sensical character actions and cringey dialogue…

This is what I look for in a movie

      • +8

        Lets date

      • +12

it’s an escape from reality, not all movies need to be serious. have you seen marvel guardians?

        • +10

So are you saying Groot isn't real ?

          • +13

@popsiee: Groot is real. Vin Diesel is not…

            • +4

@Puglife: i know who Groot is. Who the heck is Vin Diesel?

    • +1

Chris is just the wrong guy

      • +68

        I am wrong guy

      • one of the user reviews:
"Pratt is excellent and continues to prove to be an actor who feels like he's in the wrong era, the perfect 80's and 90's leading man."

        • hangover from Guardians

    • +2

Damn. It was meant to be darker than Children of Men, which was my best movie of that year. What happened??

      • +3

Are you a lost time traveller? Children of Men came out in 2006.

        • +1

Lol, I read somewhere that's how Chris Pratt described the original screenplay.

        • Some of us are old.

    • Chris Pratt is just James Cordon and vice versa

    • +15

When I saw the billboard I thought it was a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow…..

      • +1

Me too, I'm sure there is a book in the series with a similar name to this

        • I thought it was somewhat similar to a comic series I read a long time ago.

          https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drafted_(comics)

Sorry, not sure why the link isn't working.

      • +2

Yes, looked like he was airbrushed to look like Tom Cruise.

    • This sounds like an amazing movie. Like me some dumb cheesy popcorn :)

      Cheers for the review.

    • +1

Haha I saw the ads and thought the dialog was awful "We are from the future… We need you to fight", "This is our second chance… and second chances are really hard to come by" dudes nod their heads

      Yeah, pretty looked bad.

    • Agreed, Big, Loud and Dumb.

The movie that is not any particular actor. :)

    • Chriss Pratt is good at being Chris Pratt.

Considering his previous roles, that man in this movie is not him.

  • +2

Going to watch it in 1 hr

    • +1

      In cue mode?

    • +14

It's a 2 hr movie. So make sure you play it back at twice the speed.

      • You young'uns don't know what a VCR is, apparently ;)

Good quality tape transcription drives (the technical term for all varieties of tape machine - audio, video or data) have three modes of operation.

Rewind and Fast Forward. The tape is disengaged from the head and the spindle motor winds the tape from one reel to the other at a fast speed.

Review and Cue. The tape remains in contact with the head and the speed of playback is varied. This allows you to search with some degree of precision as the output is visible or audible.

        • +1

Oh! So a VCR is the device that uses those Whatchamacallits that come in the case?

Since, I never knew they were called tapes I'd just called them a flat frisbee.

Thanks for explaining it to me :)

  • +23

    Nice bargain… bought ten

  • Saw this advertised the other day. Clicked on it to find it wasn't a series and is just a movie.

Got an hour into it and zoned out, quite disappointed overall.

  • +1

    How much? Price in title

    • +12

      $200m

    • +3

How much for a movie that is included with the streaming service?

  • +8

    why is this posted here?

    • -3

Same with any deal linked to a subscription service, like eBay Plus…

      • +1

But at least ebay plus leads to actual product bargains to buy.

  • +47

Op, why not go ahead and make a posts about every movie available to watch on prime video.

    • +16

This is just like all the Disney+ movies that get posted as deals. Not what I would consider a deal.

      • +8

Just like addition to Xbox game pass too. They are similar deal type and I don't consider either as a deal. But weird how the game pass don't get negs, I wonder why 🙄

        • +7

I’m gonna start negging game pass and the likes.

    • will probably be taken down

      • +1

Probably op was high while posting this lol

      • triggered my addiction!

    • +2

This is literally the most expensive movie ever made for a streaming service. A seven dollar streaming service giving a brand new blockbuster movie for free is a deal. Disney plus charges $30 for their movies at first. So not exactly like Disney plus then.

Also this movie is rated 7/10 on IMDb which is pretty good.

      • Not a valid score or comparison

  • +6

Have a few subscriptions but this deal is just simply W……..T………….F………

  • +6

Cheap shot, op… please post more spud shed deals

    • +4

      🥔

  • When did it become live as I tried to watch the crap early morning ?

  • Thanks Ops

  • +3

I watch it for sake of watching something new but I'm seriously, seriously getting tired of politically correct, brainwashing, reprogramming movies, tv shows etc. Clone of a cloned clone.

    • +2

No, you are not allowed to have indipendant critical thinking skills!

I bet you don’t even let your wife to have a boyfriend, you mysogonist!

      • You're right, im a monster and im terrible at complying and getting on with the program. I'm still a lot behind but im getting there, last week i said it's ok to have 2 boyfriends and another boyfriend that looks like a girlfriend, just can't marry any of them for now, and we can't share my wife over the weekend.

        • can we date?

        • +1

another boyfriend that looks like a girlfriend

That you had in February of last year?

  • +1

56 on rotten tomatoes when I looked

  • +5

Straight advertising, for a terrible film too lmao

    • You seen it?

      • +6

Do we have to eat garbage to know what it tastes like 😅

  • +3

I barely scrapped enough energy to type Meh…

  • +15

Should we post about netflix movies now too?

    • -4

Yes. Here's the list of every Netflix movie released costing over $200 million.

      That is all.

With all of those posts how will we ever see the regular bargains.

  • +6

    Not really a deal…

  • +12

    No bargain here

  • +12

Family man, drafted to war, fate of humanity, confront past blah blah sounds like every 2nd movie released from 2000 to 2015.. Pass

  • +16

Can I post a deal about whatevers on Channel 7 at the moment? No subscription required!

    • +1

Yeah, if it's ad free go for it. Let's remember, this was intended to be direct to cinema.
