Down from $399 RRP in case there are people wondering

Got these for 304$ from JB. Amazing buds. The noise cancelling is awesome for such a small set of earphones. Note: I am heavy in the apple ecosystem, so these work seamlessly with my devices.

    Great deal! would buy again.

    • +5

Agree, and I'm 0% in the Apple ecosystem! Using these on my Pixel 5 with occasional issues, but the functionality is great for such small buds.

  • -2

    wasn't it $200 at Kogan?

    • +2

      Maybe grey?

    • +8

Kogan only sold 250 of them at $200. There's been other similar flash sales on eBay Plus and Amazon Prime where they've sold extremely limited quantities at about $250 or so. These all sold out in a matter of seconds or minutes. Profit margins are slim on Apple products, so these were likely all loss leaders to promote their premium subscriptions.

Basically - you can compare this price to previous lower prices, but it's irrelevant, really.

      • thanks mate

  • Is a new model coming out? A little suss we see such a big discount without trying from everyone..

    • Last year I bought this for $291 from Catch using discounted gift cards and the price has stayed almost the same since. So this is not actually a new lower price.

    • There are indeed rumours of a new AirPods Pro launching end of this year. You can look it up if interested and make a call. By imo you can’t go wrong with existing ones.

      • +2

Rumour of Airpods 3 later this year, not Airpods Pro 2. Prob another year+ away at least for second gen Pro.

  • I agree with Oil, they are awesome and i picked mine up with a price beat at OW for $266, totally stoked.

    • How did you get it at that price?

      • Same think it was a zip pay $30 cash back for $300 spend or something

      • There was a dodgy website selling them for $288ish and i took that into OW to price match, cant remember the website and OzBargain removed the link, just lucky i guess

  • +3

Sirious question. Do these work with Android?

    • -1

It may work as basic bluetooth earphones, but it's likely you won't be able to take advantage of all the features that would only work with other apple devices.

    • +3

They do, they work just like a normal BT headphone. I've used mine with Samsung's for over a year with no issues

      • Thanks, good to know

    • The new Beats Studio buds are 1000x better for the Android ecosystem.

      • Sounds good, just looking for something that doesn't protrude far from my ears when laying on pillow

        • In that case the airpods are so comfortable. You're not missing out on any major features. The noise cancellation works just great and so does audio playback. Mic is not good on any earbuds.

    • Yes and quite well, see my reply below.

    • +2

A Siri-ous question deserves an answer from Hey Google.

  • For OW pricevbeat, do i need to pick up in stores?

    • +1

      I went with free shipping.

    • free shipping.. i got this same deal a month back.. i think this deal was also posted then. OW offers free shipping if its included on the competitors website. They told me it would take three days but it came the next day which was great!

  • anyone use these specifically for calls?

I've got the sony wf m3 series, the soundpeats truefree and true engine and I constantly get reports of mic quality sucking from the people im calling.
which is a shame because all three the audio side is quite good…

    • They are OK - but if you are making phone calls or something for a living they will not be good enough.

      • Not really for a living but I do make quite a few calls…

        • Put it this way, I send 80% of my workday on the phone either mobile or VOIP and for mobile I have never found BT that is good enough to sound professional so always just used wired headsets. Would love a BT headset that sounds great for conversations also if anyone has a recommendation!

          • @CompHunter: Dang might have to go back to wired Apple headset

          • @CompHunter: I use voyager 5200 and pretty happy with it.
Which wired headset are you all using? tbh, didn't think about wired headset giving better convo quality before..

            • @Mazozb: Was using stock wired set from my iPhone 7 Plus. No problems at all, it’s just wired…

  • I recently got these after returning my Jabra 75Ts (horrible lag over BT with some, not all phones)
Very happy with the Airpod, even on an Android phone, not cheap but a nice product.

Shame about the lightning charge port but so be it.

Amazon have just updated their pricing to $299 for these: https://www.amazon.com.au/Apple-MWP22-APPLE-AIRPODS-PRO/dp/B…

  • Nobody picking up at OfficeWorks to get the Pricebeat…

    • +1

Took me 20 mins to get through but the actual transaction only took 5 mins to complete over the phone.

Bought these from JBHIFI for $300. Don't know why I held off on these for so long. These are really amazing, only headphones I found that I can have it on for a long time without any discomfort or them falling out. Sound quality is just amazing, much better than bloated bass of Sony WH-1000XM3.

I now regret not buying them sooner.

If you are on a fence like I was, give them a try, these are really great buds.

    • +1

I've got both apple air pod pros and they don't sound as good as the 1000xm3, not even close

      • +3

oh well! I will listen to pods, you listen to Sony, we both win.

        • Re. Sony - are you referring to the over-ear headphones (and not the WF model)?

          • +1

@andresampras: I was referring to over ear headphones. Not sure what Mr. imaDOOFUS is referring to.

I never liked the bass from WH-1000xm3 over ear headphones, its bloated, does not sound natural at all. In comparison B&W PX7 are much more natural over ear headphones, so are the Focal Elegia. But now, that I have tried the airpods pro, they are just as good as B&W PX7 and Focal Elegia in terms of sound quality and much better in terms of usability and comfort. And this is just my own opinion and preference.

  • got clone ones before off ebay for $90 and went to apple store to buy real ones to compare. Couldn't see any difference between them regarding battery life, connectivity or features so i returned apple store ones within 14 days for refund

    • Noise-cancelling quality was the same?

      • Yeah was about the same, even the ear fit test worked. the description did say 1:1 copy though

        • Do you mean the Baseus version?

        • There are products out of China, occassionally where it's made in the same factory but just relabelled. I think it's called grey market, however for an Apple product that seems kind of unlikely.

Did they even have the same suction cup ear holder things?

  • +1

OW refused to price beat as the model number is not displayed on the website.

    • that's not the norm. try another store/rep

    • Try the Amazon link above. They list a model number.

    • I pricematched against Amazon yesterday, try that

      • +1

Thanks. They finally agreed to price beat against Amazon on Monday over the phone. Paid $284.05

  • JB Hi-fi now has them for $300 and Perth city had a lot of stock for quick click and collect.

Thanks OP, just ordered mine on OW for $284.90!
The order has gone in to "under review" as per the OW email. Not sure what that means :-\

I paid a lot less for my pair through an Apple deal, but if I’d paid full price for the Airpods Pro, it would’ve been worth it.

They’re very light, comfortable, adjustable (with the ear tips) and portable. Super easy to find a cover for the case if you so wish, much easier than for any non-Apple earphones. Switching between noise cancelling, transparency and regular mode is quick and easy. It always pauses straight away after I take an earphone out. I switch between using them with my iPhone and Macbook with no issue.

Sound quality and noise cancellation will always be better on a good pair of over-ear headphones, but these are fantastic for earphones.

  • Perhaps the worst Apple product I’ve ever bought.
I have Macbook Pros, multiple iPhones (4x in house) multiple iPads (7x in house) Apple TV, Time-machine, like literally everything you can think of - and these are the worst apple product by far.

Continually glitchy, noise cuts in and out, happens across multiple devices (all with latest ios) and apps.

i’ve replaced these 3 times now with Apple - and i still have same issues.

    i don’t recommend.

  • Are these good for running, anyone? I currently use the Jaybird Tarah pro wireless..

    • I can confirm these are quite good for running. When I am running, these stays on, I can jump, move, run and these headphones stays on very comfortably. These are quite light weight and when running I don't even feel them in my ear, just the music playing.

Mind you, I have not owned these for much longer but the time I have had them, they have never fallen out and have been comfortable that I can wear them for long period.

  • How do these compare to the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus?

  • +1

Pricebeat at OW for $284.05. Cheers OP!

  • +10

    Found for $280 here: https://greatshopping.com.au/products/apple-airpods-pro-with…

Called officeworks and got the pricebeat down to $266 - I would post the deal myself but apparently Greatshopping is blacklisted on Ozbargain - Not sure about the legitimacy of Greatshopping itself, but the address is listed in Sydney and it runs on Shopify so I would assume legit. It was good enough for OW to do the pricebeat and that's all that matters in the end I guess.

    • +1

Thanks a lot. Got OW to price beat to $266 as well. The rep initially said the SKU number didn't match but after I pointed out the model number listed in the description she was more than happy to price beat. Free shipping as well, getting delivered tomorrow! Pretty stoked, thanks.

    • You’re a legend mate, thank you!
Got OW to price beat as well, placed an order for $266, picking up later tonight.

    • Thanks mate. Got price beat successful.

    • -3

I wonder if it would be possible for us to just create a fake shopping website for OW to just price beat?

I ordered and got price beat of $266 as well. Thanks for posting this price!!

    • Thanks for that was about to buy till i saw your comment and was able to pricematch and get free delivery as well.

    • Legend. Thanks mate.

    • Price beat in store.
      Thanks legend!

    • Ah missed out on this and got for $284!
They seem have have gone out of stock on great shopping now.
