Has been previously posted for $82 AUD by Clear (aliexpress) so it's even cheaper if you're importing it from China
My Huawei B818 has been trying to intercept (man in the middle) my work laptop Outlook mail encrypted connections. Every now and then I get a security certificate warning, signed by Huawei for “mediarouter.home”. I googled it and others are getting the same. An explanation is it’s for firewall IP filtering but breaking https is definitely not good practice, and smells to me. I’ve never had another router do it. But my old employer used to do it, for good reason though.

BIG QUESTION does this cover better than that modem came with Belong NBN?

It most certainly is better than the Belong POS.
You must have bought the Global Version, which is known to have its radio powers turned down in order to comply with Euro standards.
Hack the firmware, and then compare the two.
