anyone have some realistic feedback on the camera's? cheers

    • coming to post the same question

    • Plenty of sample photos and information in the GSMarena review

    • +2

the camera quality is very impressive, one thing I noticed was that you have to hold your hands pretty still other wise it'll be blurry, stabilisation probably not too good, but for the price it's definitely way more better then what I was expecting, speaker is great, playing pubg and mobile legends with 60 fps easy and screen refresh rate at 120hz is awesome. Very happy with the purchase, I got the 256gb version.

      • Friends have this model and they lamented my 7T takes better pictures. According to the internet the Oneplus' take so so pictures. Like you I would quantify it with the price but I wouldn't call the pitfalls you're describing as impressive.

        Probably get gcam.

    • +5

Poor. The camera is the most disappointing thing about this phone for me.

Of course it's all relative. If youre coming from a budget phone , you'd be happy. I came from a Huawei flagship (albeit an older one) and the cameras are poor (particularly the primary one) by comparison .

Still, at the price point you're unlikely to find much better.

      • +3

Just install a right Gcam. Photo quality is far better than stock camera based on my experience. You need to enable HDR enhanced instead of HDR+ to get the best results. Auto white balance as well.
Play around with the settings to find the best one. Because it's a bit different for each phone.

    • +4

I wasn't impressed initially but turns out I didn't like the camera app software nor the images it generated but have had a much better experience since switching to ProCam X which is also FREE on the google play store at the moment, normally $4.99.

    • Don't worry too much about the camera quality because this phone has snapdragon chipset so you can install google camera mod to it. The quality of camera will be improved significantly, i can say that the quality is not much different from iphone 12

      • +3

I've got a poco F1 with gcam and the quality is quite impressive. It does look slightly better then the X3 & F3 too, so am finding it hard to justify the upgrade

      • +3

How do you go about this?

        • Just google it. The latest GCam port seems to be 8.2. I just installed it on my phone and it seems to work - although I haven't excusively tested it.

        • I wouldn't mind knowing too. Is it easy to do? Can someone maybe give us a quick rundown (doesn't have to be detailed step by step) on how you go about doing it?

    • for the price i think you'd be impressed

    • From the review i saw (tech tablets), non pro version has better cameras.

    • Poor camera. I would say the issue with junk cheap lenses not the camera module.
But you can try to install thousands mods of gcam. Probably you will have some luck and you will find couple working options

      • MGC works fine with most phones at this price range. Tried same apk on 3 different brands and I was surprised by how easy it was to installed. It was a nightmare installing it on a Exynos based Samsung phone.

  • Damn just got this from them 4 days ago at $294 :(

Any tips on getting the price difference back from Banggood?

    • Same here

  • New to Banggood, how do you tell group A from B? Quick inspection of either shopback and cashrewards site doesn't seem to say

    • +1

      It's on the Shopback page.

      • Group A Category : Toys and Hobbies Electronics Lights & Lighting Sports & Outdoor Apple Accessories Automobiles & Motorcycles Mobile Phones & Accessories Computer & Networking Home and Garden (Smart Home)
      • Group B Category : Home and Garden (exc Smart Home) Clothing and Apparel Bags & Shoes Health & Beauty Jewellery and Watch Adult Toys & Apparel
      • Thanks, in plain sight too . . sorry haha

      • I wouldn't count on shopback to track on Banggood. Recently bought a Poco X3 Pro 256, used same method Ive always used and never had an issue, yet this purchase nothing but issues. Claimed missing points, shopback has said that the merchant has has denied the claim and that they will further investigate.

This was last month, still pending saying there waiting on merchant.

Never again will I use SB on large purchases. I'll use SB only on eBay $1-2 items to avoid further disappointment

  • wow prices are dropping alot! Maybe Poco X4 on the horizon :)

    • This is only a few dollars less than I paid a few months ago. I paid $333.41 for the 8/256GB including postage and postal insurance in May.

  • +1

    Any deals for F3?

    • Also on sale

      • Do the 5G bands work in Australia?

        • According to kimovil it has 1 of 2 5G Bands for Telstra and Optus and 1 of 1 for Vodafone.

  • +2

    this or Samsung S20 FE 5G for $629 ??

    • +1

This is half the price. So unsure what you're comparing.. On paper the FE trumps this in every category I think.

      • wondering is it worth twice the price

    • +3

      Samsung all the way!
(Poco X3 NFC owner here running crDroid custom ROM)

      Why?
Top quality AMOLED screen (Vs LCD screen). Samsung makes the best AMOLED screens, period.
      Camera - much better cameras.
three years of OS upgrades + security updates after that

I previously owned a Samsung S8 Plus. You're wondering why I got an inferior phone (to S20Fe) for a replacement? Because I wanted to run a custom ROM (too difficult on any Samsung phone).

      • +1

I tried crDroid but preferred the simplicity of Arrow, the customisation of crDroid was nice but you make the sacrifice to alot of clunkiness rather than streamline lightness if Arrow imo, any reason you went with crDroid in particular? AOSPK and HavocOS Officials also look promising

    • Even a52 much better. S20fe even better

  • My son has the 256 version. I must say I was really impressed with. Very responsive, great battery life and good photos.

For 315 bucks, that is a lot of phone for the money!

  • +2

I'm using this phone from past 6 month and i can say that this phone is excellent. Camera quality is very good. I have used lots of 4K footages taken from this camera to my channel.

    • +1

      What's your channel?

  • What size is the screen? Couldn't find in the description.

    • Screen is 6.67" 120Hz IPS Full specs here

    • 6.67"

  • Can anyone with this phone confirm if it is compatible with VoLTE on the Telstra network?

    • It is yes.

    • Not sure about VoLTE (funnily enough I don't make many calls on my phone, and when I do I don't tend to also use the net on it) but it doesn't seem to have VoWiFi.

    • Poco X3 NFC (non-Pro) isn't compatible with VoLTE or VoWiFi, whether you're using stock or custom ROM. Reason - Poco phones were never sold in Australia so they were not tested/accepted by the Telco's. Some hack are available, but it's way to complex and risky to implement (effectively a hack).

      • Sorry to correct you dude, but the ArrowOS that i'm using has VoLTE and VoWiFi for that matter working perfectly with no complex setup, it comes out of the box with the rom. Are you saying the crDroid doesn't have this feature? That's another huge downside to it, I think you might want to consider giving ArrowOS a try.

  • +1

Hmmmm this or wait for a deal on the Redmi Note 10 pro? This doesn't look like its got an OLED screen?

    • +1

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Global Version 4GB 64GB is available for $235.41 + $0.95 Postage and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Global Version 6GB 128GB is $378.80 + $1.54 Postage both from Banggood. Not the lowest ever but pretty close.

    • This one has better CPU, i prefer this one to redmi note 10

      • Noted, but I'm pining for an OLED on my new phone!
And from what I've seen, the 732G is fast enough for what I need.

        • +3

You could just get the f3 for ~$400 better processor than the x3 pro and has the 120hz oled and 5G

        • +2

          get K40/ poco f3,
          best bang for bucks.
          120hz OLED, SD 870
          420ish

          • +3

@salin: Thanks both of you, went for the F3.

            • @Warchest: Just remmber to get a good case and screen protector.

            • +1

              @Warchest: So did i :)

Hard to beat for the price. Was going to go for the redmi note 10 pro but the processor isnt really much of an upgrade over my older redmi note 8 pro.

  • How do you put gcam on this?

    • You can join the Telegram Group for X3 Pro | Updates different roms, GCam builds, etc. This is the latest version of BSG GCam - MGC for X3 Pro posted there.

    • Xda

    • Just google it and download the APK.

  • I get an error on the link due to policy reasons. Is this happening to anyone else or am I dodgy?

    • Yeah, I'm getting that as well.

      • If you use the app, it seems to load. Glad I'm not the only dodgy dude

  • Any merits in moving to this from X3 NFC?
Apart from the processor, and additional RAM, do not see any difference.

    • +2

No, you pointed out the major differences lol

    • X3 NFC owner.
Definitely not worth it: non-PRO has a 64Mpixel main and 13MP wide angle camera, much better than the PRO model and with Gcam it's amazing. I do not care about CPU on PRO model as SD732 is blazingly fast on AOSP ROMs (i.e. without Xiaomi bloat).

      • Just curious to ask.
I assume that u cant use NFC for google payment after u installed the third party Roms.
What the point for you to get a NFC model?

        • +2

NFC works fine with custom ROMs. Google pay works on crDroid that I use for example.

          • @vrsac: Thanks for your information!!!

  • +9

Just a note to keep in mind: This is pretty much the normal price for the X3 Pro on Banggood now, they just rotate it through all their different types of promotions.

For example, they had their deposit sale thing where you pay $4 deposit to lock in a price, and that price was $269, which ran for about 5 days, and the moment that ended, this deal started.

So don't feel rushed into buying it, because it's going to be available at this price very frequently.

  • Thanks OP, picked one up!

Guys these phones explode, be safe while using these
    https://www.notebookcheck.net/More-Xiaomi-devices-explode-th…

    • +1

Samsung and iJunk are also known to explode, anything with a battery can leak and explode.

    • If you are going to avoid brands that have had a phone battery go then you are not going to be using a mobile.

      • I believe they used to call that a landline, thankfully Officeworks still stock an ultra safe non-battery model for those stuck in 1995 and those afraid of explosions. $44 though, what a rip.

  • +4

Thanks OP, got one to replace my aging Xiaomi MiA1!

  • 2 questions.

How are these for bloatware and other things you can't remove

What is this 860 chip? I thought they went 855 865 888. And then the high-tier starts with 7

    • The 8xx series is better than the 7xx series (which is better than the 6xx, and 4xx).

The 860 is a slightly improved 855. It doesn't have a built in 5G chip but can use an external one (which the poco x3 doesn't have).

      https://www.notebookcheck.net/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-860-Proces…

      • Thanks. I don't need 5G, so that's great. Seems very good value

  • +2

Tbh the camera should be the least of anybody's concerns.

My phone is quite buggy, specifically sometimes when people call you cannot answer. The phone will ring but the phone app doesn't even prompt you to say someone is calling.

Other times it will just be a white screen with no caller id info, can at least still answer those times.

    • +1

I haven't had that. I would make sure that you have the factory ROM on there. Sometimes dodgy sellers will flash compromised roms onto phones. You could also try using a different phone app, I used drupal for a while on another phone and had no problems with it.

      • I just noticed this is for the X3 PRO, I have the Poco X3 NFC. So my experience may not apply.

Do they run the same software?

  • You guys pay shipping insurance? Or PayPal would be enough just in case.

  • op, did you notice banggood snap ups actually work now? 🤣 someone got lucky with the US$99 Poco x3 pro

    • Yeah I was too slow to snap up the POCO X3, can't beat the bots :( I reckon they should change it from speed based to some sort of lucky dip competition to make fairer.

  • I see phones are between 150g to 230g in general.
While it's like 50% difference, in real life do you really notice or care about weight?

    • Seeing alot of people carry their phones in their pocket, a large heavy phone could be a drawback for those wearing dress pants/officewear causing the pocket to sag, so yes IRL the weight is definitely an issue. In practice though whilst holding and using the phone, no, the weight is negligible, that said i'd much rather it be 150g than 230g.

    • I have one of these. My previous phone was an LG V50 and I definitely feel the extra size and weight. It's not an issue for me, but I do notice the difference when I pick up my old phone.

  • -1

It says microSDXC (uses shared SIM slot) Hybrid Dual SIM
Does that mean 2 physical sim, share with SD, not esim crap?

    • I didn't neg you but you basically answered your own question, 1 sim + micro sd, or 2 nano sims. You clearly knew enough to read the spec sheet so i'm not sure why you're confused.

  • Seems price gone up.

    • +1

Can use this coupon BGX3PAFF4 to reduce the price to US$201.13. Have updated OP to include new coupons as the original listing price has increased.

      • +1

Thinking using a coupon thats not listed would invalidate cashback.
