Terms and condition

ShopBack rewards you with a $40 bonus for every qualified new member referred.

A "qualified referral” is a new member of ShopBack who:

(i) signs up via your unique referral link, on ShopBack or the referral methods on this page

(ii) makes a purchase (no. min spend) via ShopBack

(iii) has his/her Cashback (from their first purchase) turned confirmed

(iv) has his/her Cashback withdrawal bank account details filled

For more detail on each point above:

i.i) Your friend must sign up via your link and not be overrided by another referral link. The last referrer link clicked will get the bonus.

i.ii) If referred via email, your friend has to input the referred email address when signing up on ShopBack.

ii.i) Referrals' first purchase must be a legitimate order non-stackable with other New Customer promotions (Eg. Bonus $10 Cashback promotions) ii.ii) Any cancellations, refunds or exchanges will not be counted to the qualifying spend.

ii.iii) The following merchants are excluded from the first qualifying purchase: Uber, Kayo Sports, DoorDash, Hayu, Accor Hotels, Intercontinental Hotels Group, ShopBack Vouchers (Gift Cards), Woolworths Gift Cards, Circles.Life. Please note this is not an exhaustive list and ShopBack reserves the right to add or amend the list.

iii) Your bonus of $40 will be tracked when your friend signs up and credited into your ShopBack account only when your friend makes their purchase and when their Cashback turns redeemable.

ShopBack reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to amend and vary the terms and conditions as set out above, as well as to disqualify any User at any point of time.

The following is a non-exhaustive list of activities that are not permitted and that will disqualify you from earning referral bonuses:

(i) self-referral,

(ii) posting your referral link on any ShopBack merchant's Facebook or forum page,

(iii) keyword bidding for the purpose of generating traffic to pages containing your referral link, and

(iv) any similar activity determined by ShopBack in its sole discretion to be inconsistent with the purpose of ShopBack's Refer-a-Friend Programme.

ShopBack reserves the right to alter the terms and conditions of this promotion. Any infringement of the above terms and conditions would result in the loss of all bonuses. Repeat offences would result in the closure of your ShopBack account.

Upvote for the find, but Downvote because it is for Shopback.

Have always had negative experience with Shopback referrals.

    • referral bonus gets rejected, you have to chase up every time!
    • doesn't track bonus cashback properly, most recent example - Amazon. Chase up and waste time again!
    • cashback takes ages to validate and to get paid out

I find it useful/reliable for Mystery Card offers and OzB perks only.

I had the same experience with referrals. My friend signed up and got a new phone for $700 or so, and she received her cashback (so the transaction was correctly tracked), but I got zilch!

I currently have 3 other referrals in pending state.

      I’m quite annoyed tbh. 😕

Yeah i find it true as well had 4 references but 2 were from random, and 2 personally refered

Only got those whom personally offered.

Quite disappointing that only found 2 references since been a SHOPBACK customers

Also no person refered from ozbargain i think, even tho it shows clicks but no actual name.

Unlike cashrewards where had 1 reference from ozbargain successfully credited

I also hate the fact that the new user need to add his/her payment details for both of us to get bonus signup cashback

    • I only use the App when using Cashrewards / Shopback. I'll do all my searching and stuff to find what I want on a PC, then ill jus tswap to mobile to buy. Never had an issue with it this way.. .

    • Hey mate, appreciate the feedback.
      I'm sorry it's been a 50/50 experience for you.

With referrals, if they live in the same household it will be rejected unless we are told prior that you will be referring your family.
This is only to avoid any potential fraud, as I'm sure you can understand.

If they are family/friends that you know and have successfully completed the required steps, there shouldn't be any issues, but if there is could you please send me a DM so I can I'll help you out.

I understand there are some long wait times for particular merchants but unfortunately, those wait times are how long it takes for us to be paid by them.
They do this to avoid paying out cashback on orders that have been returned/canceled, and rightfully so.

I hope this helps clear up a few things.
If you have any other questions or need my assistance, feel free to send me a DM :)

Just referees, or umpires too ?

    • SHOPBACK is very bad doesn't let us see the terms and condition

The best way to describe my Shopback experience is 50% scam + 50% legit.
Cashback on gift card purchases have always tracked and paid out successfully. Whenever it comes to bonuses, SB may pull some kind of stunt.

        Example:

Purchased a set of items (Shop-A) from Target in FEB-2021 via SB. Estimated pay out date: MAY-2021.
Purchased another set of items (Shop-B) from Target in MAR-2021. This time via Cashrewards. Estimated pay out date: MAY-2021.

For both purchases, no items were returned / exchanged / refunded.

When I was checking my account for CR in April, I noticed they paid out the cash back for Shop-B one month early (APR-2021), and I also received my $10 bonus.

When I check my account for SB in May, I notice the pay out date for Shop-A has now moved to JUL-2021 without any explanation. The only thing I know is there is a $20 bonus hanging on this cash back. Maybe why this got moved to the new FY. ;-)

      • @USER DC If you go to the Refer A Friend page and scroll down to the bottom, you will find the T&C's there.

        • That's saying $30 not $40 so its not most upto date information

I referred my husband, made a purchase and still got rejected 🙄 only realised over a year later lol, dont waste your time with this.

    • There is a clause that same household doesn't count as referral.

    • If you let us know that you're referring someone in your household, we'll happily honor the bonus.
Our system looks at the address and if they're both the same, it'll decline unless we've been notified prior.

Send me a DM with your account info and I'll see what can be done.

      Thanks!

Referred many people, never had any issues. I'm always surprised when people complain.. Honestly I wonder what issues they're having?

I feel as though these rules should be posted on every referral post for Shopback. The fact that they don't state this on the referral page is very disappointing.

    • Your friend has signed up using your link or code
    • Your friend has spent $x and have his or her Cashback confirmed
    • You have $10.00 confirmed Cashback from purchases
    • Your friend has added his or her withdrawal details
    • You have added your withdrawal details
    • they might as well add
      - touch nose with tongue
      - stick big toe in a cup of water
      - lick fridge door
As in the end Shopback is still just as likely to reject. You probably have as much chance as receiving that Nigerian Prince's fortune.

    • From 1 June you no longer need to have cashback Turned into confirmed status

And regarding Post sorry but i cannot edit it only a moderator can

    • Hey mate, thanks for adding these to the post.
We do have all the requirements laid out on our Referral page, we just updated it now to bring the instructions closer to the top.

            • @yfxsmike: Correct, "your cashback".
Their cashback will still need to be confirmed.

You are missing the most important part which is
You have $10.00 confirmed Cashback from purchases

Store rep, just curious, why difference in credit for referrer and referee. I would thought new users signing up should get same credit as existing user.

    • Great question, sometimes we do run a 50/50 split on the credit for both.
It just depends on the strategy our team is running at the time.

      • Thanks for your reply. I will wait till then. CR is working fine for me.

        • No problem, have a good weekend!
