I would go bigger screen, 75 is like 30 percent bigger in screen area

    • Q8 has better dynamic range, dolby vision sound bar but crap OS though

  • I'm reading no HDMI ARC on SM20 models? This 75" (runout?) model too. Anyone confirm? Thanks.

Appreciate its a non-issue for those not wanting ARC or perhaps not even aware of what it is, but its an important feature for us.

  • I can not find which Android OS they providing in tv anyone find anywhere?

  • Is QLED panel better than IPS and VA?

  • Is this better or the Samsung au8000.

    • probably the samsung but it costs a lot more, if you are going to spend this much on something you should go and see how they look for yourself though

Hitachi outsourced all of its TV production since 2012. So it produced by Vestel.

I was in store today to look at this one. You can’t beat the price for a brand new 75inch smart tv. Picture quality was good with price. Only downside side is 60hz Panel and you can definitely see the difference.

Won’t enjoy action movies or sports.

I am thinking to get a Hisense Q8 65inch instead

Yeah the 60hz would just turn me off. So far off and ruins the TV in my opinion.

  • How is the 58 inch? Why this one has so much more ups than that one?

Coz size matters. As a savvy customer, pick up the one suit your room/need. It seems 75" and 58" are of the better value than 65" and 50" atm.

i personally went into JB-HIFI to talk to them about the TV, and they warned me against buying it cos it was bad quality image and terrible refresh rate. Not only that, the contrast isnt crisp and the brightness is low. You are getting what you pay for here, a cheap bad quality tv. its worth paying a bit more for a sony/lg/samsung

    Bought one, thanks op.
Agree there were better pictures in store, but since I’m lucky if I watch 1/2 hour of tv a day it’s perfectly fine.

Received and installed mine yesterday, the factory setup color on my unit was a bit off, too much yellow, not sure if it's caused by some of the TVs local dimming option, had to spend 30 minutes playing with colour settings just to get it right.

Overall at 60hz I only saw motion blur when I deliberately load 4k hdr videos drone footage on YouTube. For daily life without gaming I watched avengers endgame on it without a single motion blur. For those in the future put off by 60hz panel, my experience is that motion blur isn't that obvious on day to day Netflix, prime or Disney plus.

There is strong backlight bleeding on this unit for the ones after quality TV stay away, for those that can live with a little imperfections this is perfect.

    • Received & setup mine today from this deal

What were the color settings you ended up going with @ghostkkz? I haven't played around with settings too much yet (out of the box color mode seems to be on "power saving".

  • $796 now, but the stock level is low. Hitachi all sizes are reduced more.

  • Anyone who bought one of these having trouble getting a Firestick remote (or similar) to pair?
If anyone has the IR remote code please share!

    • I had a dongle one keyboard remote work fine
