    • Says spend, not transfer..

      • Beem transfer does count as spend in most occasions

        • People’s Choice Credit Union advised you need to spend online or in store using a Visa or EFTPOS transaction.

        • Beem is a send and receive transaction, not a spend. I highly doubt it will qualify.

  • can anyone who has made a bpay via beem it or sniip confirm if they received their $50 please ? might try to bpay to ubank.

  • beem it comes up on history description as cash withdrawal w beem it in history so might not count. anyone know the what the description for sniip comes up as?

  • From People’s Choice Credit Union..You can spend online or in store using either Visa or EFTPOS transaction to qualify for the $50. Transfers to other accounts or ATM withdrawals won't count however.

  • How to do actually spend the $50 now I got everything set up? there is a digital card you can set up or do I have to wait for them to send me the physical card in order to spend the $50?

    • You wait for a physical card. Once activated, you can use it in digital payment formats. You can’t use the card until you receive it and activate it.

  • Does anyone know when the $50 will be deposited into the account? by certain date stating in their T&C or promotion details?
so basically I have to deposit my own $50 first then spend it and waiting for the uncertain $50 from this bank? Please correct me if I am wrong, thanks in advance.

    • To be exact, the $50 bonus money, will need to spend again and cannot be transferred to my own bank? so total spent is $100 if I am correct. Please correct me if I am wrong

      • do what you please with the $50 bonus money no need to speed it again. wish to know when its paid and if anyone has got it yet>? beem it shows up as eftpos cash withdrawal. so will that qualify or not? I think i safer to do another $50 b payment via sniiip as it may need to show up as a purchase?

        • You need to spend on Visa or EFTPOS, not a cash withdrawal or transfer. It’s safer to do what they ask if you want the cash back.
It’s paid within 20 business days as stated in the post and terms and conditions. It doesn’t state bpay is eligible, so Sniip may not qualify.
I suggest you contact them to ask about Sniip cause you may miss out if you don’t spend like they say.

          • @aussiematthew: i agree i think ill just use it to pay off the zip balance hopefully that will be treated as a purchase.

      • Deposit $50, Spend $50, Get $50 cash back within 20 business days..how do you get spend $100?

Did you read the terms and conditions?

The ‘get $50’ payment will be credited to the Everyday Living account within 20 business days of the last Visa or EFTPOS purchase that brings the total purchase value to $50. If the account closes before the time when payment is due to be made, the eligible member ceases to be eligible to receive the payment.

The post says..deposit $50 and spend $50. So yes, you do have to deposit and spend your own $50 to get $50 back..

Could anyone advise how long it took for your account to open?

    • Based on other post, it can take a few days to a week or longer..Did you get a confirmation with a member reference number when applying?

  • Tried opening account, no response even after few days.

    • Did you get a confirmation? A page that says a member reference number? They can take a few days to a week or more if you read people’s experiences. Call them to check it may not have gone through if you didn’t receive a confirmation at time of application. They maybe inundated with applications, given they are also advertising during the Olympics. How many days has it been? They do say if you haven’t receive confirmation after 5 business days to call them.

      • -1

They do say if you haven’t receive confirmation after 5 business days to call them.

I have received an application confirmation email with a reference number on Wednesday last week, and haven't heard back from them since then.

Seriously, all other online banks automatically open your accounts as soon as you pass ID verification.
There is no waiting around for 5 or more business days.

        • -1

They aren’t an online only bank, so it appears they open accounts manually, not automatically.
Not all banks automatically open your accounts as soon as you pass an ID check. I applied for an account with Bank of Melbourne online and waited nearly a month for it to be opened. Even called them to chase it.
          Seriously!

  • Anyone having issue activating the debit card on iPhone? The activation worked well on my Android but somehow just never worked on my wife's iPhone 12. It keeps saying activation Error

    • I activated it on my iPad without any issues.

    Thanks OP.
    Applied on 28/07
Received pin on 06/08. Still waiting for the card

  • Still haven't heard back from them. I applied on the 21st July

got $50 cashback one day after meeting the spend

pretty good app and customer service, i might keep using them

  • Regarding the below:
Eligible members who open an Everyday Living Account during the offer period but before August 2021 will get a $50 payment if during the offer period they make a $50 deposit and spend a minimum of $50 using Visa or EFTPOS from their new Everyday Living Account.

So if I signed up before August and deposited $50. But I have not spent it yet until now. Would I still be entitled to the $50 bonus or have to wait till 20 Sep?

    • I read the terms as if you had opened before August then you must deposit and spend by August 31st.
Where if you open and deposit in August, then you get until 20 September.

So if you opened before August, spend your $50 in next 2.5 weeks.

    • Are you a new member? Did you join as a new member and open this account between 20 June and 31 August? If so, I would imagine as long as you deposited and spent your $50 per the conditions then it sounds like it’s within the terms and conditions. It reads to me: Join and open a new account between 20 June and 30 June, you have until end August to deposit and spend $50. If you join between 1 August and 31 August you have until 20 September to deposit and spend the $50.

If you aren’t sure, best contact them to check.

Reading the T & Cs, it looks like you don't need to spend the $50 in one go. For example: you can spend $10 in one transaction, $20 and then another $20+ somewhere else. As soon as your total spend equals or exceeds $50 within 2.5 weeks of opening your account, you will receive the bonus $50.

Got the $50 rebate today as well:)

paid bpay bill using sniip got my $50 8 days after.
wife applied 6 days ago still no email confirming member number just the first one saying membership is being processed and we'll be in touch soon. what rubbish they never do contact you. anyone else experience the same and whats the best way forward?

    • anyone else experience the same

Since you ask, here is my experience and that of a family member I forwarded this deal to.
The family member applied on Tuesday last week, and I got around to doing it on Wednesday last week because when I tried the first couple of times earlier in that week the very last screen of their buggy web application kept crashing (and it would redirect to a page that did not exist).

We all got the usual email saying wait 5 business days before calling us if you don't hear from us via email.

The family member called yesterday to find out their application has been rejected after a really long hold time. When asking for the reason their response was "our constitution allows us to".

I called up today this morning but ran out of time before someone picked up as I had a meeting to attend.
I think I already know the answer - rejected.

      whats the best way forward?

Just call them, and find out.

Worst bank ever. Now I will have to email them to delete all my personal information they would have captured.

  • yes wife has to work during business hours so sent them an email . hope they didnt leave a mark on her credit file when doing the credit check for id. cant understand why they would reject her as she used to be a member for the last promo. i agree buggy web application and process i think mine crashed twice before it was accepted.

    • mark on her credit file when doing the credit check for id

There shouldn't be a credit check. You are simply opening a bank account with a debit card - not a line of credit.

she used to be a member for the last promo

Past member of PCCU? Maybe that would be a good reason.

Maybe they have run of their marketing budget or hit a cap for new users.

      • wife called them quoted ref number they just said they have a back log and have been inundated with applications. i dont have confidence as it was the general tel number for customer service. maybe she should reapply again as card might not arrive before end of month thus miss out on promo?

  • For those that are unsure, the $50 deposit into your new PC account does not actually need to be available as a balance before the expiry date (tonight).
So the $50 can be deposited into PC account any time before 20th September, then spent it before that.

This was confirmed via phone call today, I must say, the 2 calls that I've made have been good, very polite.
Only issue for me was that during the ID section, not been able to deselect credit history from the options, anyone else have this issue?

    Thanks heaps OP.

    • Only issue for me was that during the ID section, not been able to deselect credit history from the options

You are given no choice regarding this.

      • Ok, thanks, just checking.

Dam, forgot to deposit money. Did open a new account before 31/8/21. Am I still eligible for the $50?

    • +1

It depends when you opened it.

      No.
Eligible members who open an Everyday Living Account during the offer period but before August 2021 will get a $50 payment if during the offer period they make a $50 deposit and spend a minimum of $50 using Visa or EFTPOS from their new Everyday Living Account.

      Yes.

  • Thanks so much OP and PC Bank, I needed the money.
