Got this mouse for free with DOOM ($39) a couple of years back. Super simple, 3 profiles, does the job perfectly, I love it. Would be nice to have a DPI indicator of some sort but this doesn't bother me as I've tinkered with it over the past 3/4 years to get it to exactly what I want. All buttons are customisable.

Would recommend this over a DeathAdder, and certainly over the Mad Cats Rat 7 that I've got bundled up in a cupboard somewhere after the scroll wheel came loose and the company went bankrupt and never updated their driver signatures for Windows 10

    • this is 250 – 2,500 DPI vs deathadder at 6400dpi? i thought higher dpi is better?

i'm curious since deathadder 2013 is already 6400dpi, why does the gaming mouse nowadays still going at 2500 dpi?

or is that some creative DPI counting involved here?

High DPI is not always better. 6400 DPI will have your mouse flying across the screen with the slightest wiggle. I don't like such sensitivity to my hand movements

        • fair point. so its really up to personal preference then - I'm already used to using deathadder in games, while I have the mx masters for work/browsing.

      • a high maximum dpi is mostly irrelevant, since most mice introduce some smoothing above around 1600-2000 dpi anyway, and you can always alter the mouse sensitivity in the windows slider or in games.

the main thing you should care about (other than shape) is the quality of the sensor, not how high the dpi number goes, and logitech is usually pretty good with that.

        • i kind of agree with that, but kind of? I mean quality of sensor is related to the DPI isn't it?

even logitech advertises their G pro X models with 5 digit DPIs, so i'm not sure if that argument is rock solid?

i'm wondering if the DPI is going the way of the camera pixel counts now.

          • @slowmo:

I mean quality of sensor is related to the DPI isn't it?

not really. most high quality sensors have high max dpis for largely marketing reasons. maybe in future once they consistently fix the smoothing issue high level competitive gamers will start using higher dpis but for now it's mostly just to convince people who don't know any better. these days all you really need for a 'perfect' sensor is a pixart 3360/3389 etc variant, and most top mice come with them.

so i'm not sure if that argument is rock solid?

if you really want to get all nerdy about 'arguments' then the issue is that you're confusing correlation with causation. all modern top mice have high max dpis, but not all modern mice with high max dpis are top mice, or even good quality.

in any case, it's not really an argument, i'm just relaying a fact. as a competitive gamer i've been nerding out on mice for a decade by now, but feel free to research it yourself on places like overclock.net or r/mousereview

Have this mouse and have to note that it's small and the extra buttons are all on top so it's only your pointer or middle fingers that can make use of them. Good for desktop use, not so useful for gaming (because you can't press multiple buttons at once).

Otherwise despite these flaws, it's a Logitech so will last a long time and perform. It's smooth moving, feels well made and satisfying to click.

  • I don't recommend this one.
I would say G203 is a better option as a gaming mouse at this price unless you don't want to pay a bit more.

Not that much of a bargain when you consider the inevitable cost of carpal tunnel syndrome from a claw grip.

If there’s one thing both the left and right can agree on, is that symmetrical mice are for plebs.

I've never had a mouse just completed die on me. But this was my experience with this mouse… :( Barely lasted for 18 months, & one day, it just stopped working. A total internal failure or something. Plugging it in, nothing even lit up anymore, I couldn't believe it. Has put me off of buying Logitech mice, ever since.

A shame too, because I quite liked that mouse. It was maybe abit small & narrow, but it had the extra assignable buttons on it, & I used it when playing KF2.

I get sad now, when I'm reminded of this mouse! (because of how it just stopped working on me).

Besides the fact that your post makes no sense, the fact is Logitech warranty is two years. Could have a replacement or fixed for free. In case you don't keep receipts, you should. In case you paid online, you had proof of purchase right there in your bank/cc history.

You could buy a brand new car. Get out of the parking lot just for it to die on the road, right in front of the dealership. If you expect things to be perfect, then you are on the wrong planet.

    • I've had the same one going on 5+ years now. No issues in either the mouse or the software except when Windows 10 was just rolling out.

  • Look, i could not remember how long it was until it suddenly stopped working. It must have been past 2 years then. All i know is, it died, & I did look into warranty replacement, but it appeared to be outside of any warranty.

I'm just posting about my experience with the mouse. Nothing more. I hope others have a good experience with this mouse, & that it lasts for them.

  • I’ve always loved this mouse, it’s light for the price and even for high level gaming it’s okay

Only problem is the mouse cord broke on me 2 months in and I got it replaced and it broke on me again I then instead of getting a replacement I used a older mouse cord and I’ve been using that for a couple of years as I don’t really game that much anymore
