Cheapest price for Super robot wars V/X (comes with all DLCs) in Nintendo Switch via HK eshop. Despite the eshop is in mandarin, this is the Asia release and has English language in the game.

my suggestion is to create a new account with HongKong region via au eshop website first.

then login with that new account on the HK eshop website and buy it from there (you'll need Google translate to help you)

After that, you'll receive a confirmation email and has a link to the redeem code.

then use your switch with the HK account go to eshop to redeem them.

Never even heard of this game

this is a very niche game targeted for those who love Japanese robot/mecha genre (especially if you grow up watching them). they are strategy RPG kind of similar to fire emblem series.

watch the review https://youtu.be/rB2t5MSL7XE to get a sense about what this game is about.

      • Which would you buy in order of priority.

        • depends on the series that you're a fan of.

I recommend have a look at the series included and which gundam you like and go from there.

          • @Jayzz55: My only requirement is zeta. And zeta is always in srw

            • @OZcheepsk8: based on personal preference I think you'll like super robot wars V.

have a look at akurasu https://akurasu.net/wiki/Super_Robot_Wars/V

and get a feel of the amount of stages related to gundam zeta story plot.

              • @Jayzz55: Sorry dumb question. I don't know how to create a HK account on au eshop.

I've changed my new account to HK region and found srw T although Chinese words. But it gives me an error on purchase saying use a local credit card.

                Am I doing it right?

                • @OZcheepsk8: I got the same error if ordering in eshop in Switch
It worked when I ordered through the link here

                  • @bostos: Hmm after I click the button it just refreshes and does nothing

  • good deal, thanks OP

Too bad it looks like it's all in Chinese. The english versions are outrageously priced

    • this is the Asia release which does have the English language. I just bought and can confirmed this.

      • Hi OP
I am not familiar with switch, do I have to change the country in order to buy? I added the item and after login, it said I am not in the correct region and need to change.
        Thanks!

        • +2

I suggest you create a new account with HongKong region (in au eshop so you don't have to deal with mandarin), then use that account profile to buy in HK eshop.

      • That's awesome. Thanks!

  • Hi OP
Any of the 3 packs worth to buy or stick with the basic game if I am not a huge fan of Gundum but did play this type of games decades ago?
    重複遊玩支援組合包
    擴展組合包
    獎勵劇情全入包
    Thanks!

    • +1

重複遊玩支援組合包 this one is not worth it. gives you extra money and stuffs and you don't need this to enjoy the game.

擴展組合包 this adds extra story. see https://akurasu.net/wiki/Super_Robot_Wars/T/Complete_Chart (a bit of spoiler alert on list of stages) to see if you like the stages

獎勵劇情全入包 this adds optional extra stage. completing these get extra items. only worth it if you really like most of the characters/mecha in the game.

Thanks OP. The basic game should be sufficient to bring back my childhood memories

while you're at it, have a look at super robot wars v and x as well.

They are also on sale. and choose the one with your favourite mechas :-)

  • Love these games. I’m having issues buying it though. I bought SRW X on Switch with my Global debit card a year ago with no issues, but this time i received an error. How are the rest of you buying games?

    • I use my credit card and it works. you can try contact the bank and check if the bank blocks the transaction?

This is my first time buying via Nintendo HK eshop and it just works.

    • I bought it through the link in the OP. Works now. If I buy via eshop on console it blocks card

  • I haven't even finished X yet…. still prefer a physical copy but this is a wicked price…..

  • So silly question but i've never done this before. We can just buy from the online store and then it just shows up on our switch?

    • with the HK shop, it has extra step. after purchasing it, they'll send you the coupon code and then you'll need to redeem the code.

I use my switch with my HK account (create a separate one from your aus account) and go to the eshop and redeem the code and it'll automatically download the game.

      • sorry another silly question, but how to you create a HK switch account? Through the switch?

        • +1

my suggestion is to create a new account with HongKong region via au eshop website first.

then login with that new account on the HK eshop website and buy it from there (you'll need Google translate to help you)

After that you'll receive a confirmation email and has a link to the redeem code.

then use your switch with the HK account go to eshop to redeem them.

  • Thanks OP. Which one is better? Super Robot T vs X vs V ?

    • +1

first it depends on which mecha/robots you really like? if you google you'll see the list.

T being the latest one has a slightly more refined gameplay and more streamlined story.

My suggestion is to go with the series that contains your favourites.

    • Can you use Aussie credit card to purchase?

      • +1

yup, I used my Aussie credit card to purchase this.

    • can I use the account created in HK region in my AU Switch?

      • +1

Yes, switch is not region locked so you can use any region.

      • yes you can. i recommend creating the HK region in AU eshop/switch as it's easier if you can't read mandarin (which is the case for me).

    • Wonder what other asian only games are on the nintendo eshop, save me ordering from Yesasia all the time

  • Can I use an Aus credit card for the HK account?

    • yes you can, i use my aus credit card for the purchase.

  • I'm trying to decide which one to get :(

    • Why not both?

      • Each of them take forever to finish, if I have the time to burn then will get them all

  • Thanks OP, played this way back, glad to grab it!

  • My god, thanks Op. Didn't realise there were other SRW fans in Aus. What is the combined deal? Is it for both X and V? Or just X with DLCs?

  • +1

Thanks OP. Got both T and V
