Note: Coupon seems to work on a range of products in Small Appliances and some other areas. I don't know yet what it applies to but did the research to find these great deals as a pick of the bunch.

As always, enjoy :)

        • They will be right . I've never had a issue with there cables being not as advertised

        • Jeez $90 for an HDMI cable. Hadnt realised HDMI 2.1 cables cost that much.

          • @[Deactivated]: Amazon has a 2m HDMI 2.1 cable for $25 - why are you wanting to pay $90? I can order the Amazon one for you and sell it to you for $50 if you like, so you still save money

@HTCLegend: I'm sure there are cheaper 5m ones on Amazon but you're comparing 2m price to 5m price?

            • +1

@HTCLegend: I gather the $65 saving can be used on the magic required to make a 2m cable work over a 5-6m distance.

              • @snuke: At least someone understands. By the way, I haven't bought the cable I'm simply asking if anyone has used a cable and verified it can do 4k@120. Shorter cables arent as difficult to find but once you start going longer the shitty ones don't always work as specified. Some of the cheaper ones on Amazon have reviews saying they couldn't do 4k@120. I did find a cheaper one on Amazon though which I might look at.

                • @F-22: Amazon reviews are weird. They combine them for different items/lengths etc.. so they are not always accurate.

Here are some locally supplied fully certified cables - https://www.ezyhd.com.au/product/certified/

                  • @snuke: Perfect, that's exactly the repsonse i was after, some alternatives that i hadn't found myself. i'll check it out. This was the Other on Amazon, seems to be the cheapest i can for 5m 48Gbps.

Anyone had communication from TGG about their order yet?

I called the my local and they said they had 500+ online orders pending for this sale and it's going to take them a while to get through them all.

    • +1

Just an email saying order received. Not even a courtesy text message or anything. I selected delivery instead of pickup thinking it would ve delivered while we're still locked down, doesnt look like it'll happen 😡

      • +1

Yeah, going to return my Good Guys order and rebuy at JB

        • +1

Better hope they don't ship it tomorrow or they probably won't accept returns. Guessing TGG phone lines going to get hammered tomorrow morning by cancellation/price match requests.

Just called and cancelled my order with TGG and picked up my new LG 48" monitor from JB. Didnt have any issues with cancellation.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: I tried to call and no luck. Was told to email the store directly for cancellation.

            • +1

@Capensis: Sorry to hear that, I tried the national hotline but was on hold for 20 mins and gave up, then called the Nunawading store directly and it took 2 mins to cancel. They asked for cancellation reason and was done in a flash.

@[Deactivated]: My cancellation was successful too. Reordered at JB!

  • anyone got estimate on delivery dates for 77G1 which are backordered?

    • Not yet

    • Call this Arvo, no ETA (for G1 65"). She told me the person after me in line for one paid ~$1000 more, lol.

Finally getting delivery today after 1.5 months

  • All those getting 77G1, did anyone have issues installing it on stud wall?
My wall has wide gap between the studs and the bracket included is too small. This was informed to me by the installation guy.
To keep the tv in center, it would have to be only on one stud and rest would be on plasterboard. Read on reddit that someone has done it with high load bearing plasterboard screws.

For now, I had the guy install it with his own Selby mount which kinda defeats the purpose of getting the Gallery design model as there is a gap between the wall and TV now.

    Very annoyed.

    • I cut a square in the plaster where the bracket was going and installed some timber between the studs. Then plastered it back up and screwed straight into that timber. There was another bracket in the box that i found after i had already done that so not sure if that was long enough to reach across the studs, didnt try it. It wouldn't sit as flush but it also wouldn't be so bad.

    • Think this was also captured in this is YouTube video for the GX installation which is the same:

      https://youtu.be/sVJcJzP9-7A

      • And as per a comment in that YT video, that plate could have been installed recessed, so the TV would still be perfectly flush.

      • Yes, that's the longer bracket i was talking about. Had i found it i probably would have just used it, the small gap would have saved a bit of effort.I watched LGs bracket installation videos and they didn't mention the longer brackets as i think it only comes with the Australian models. At least it sits flush and is very secure now, it's got 8 bolts into timber.

        • Thanks guys, I was wondering what that plate was. I will re-do the installation myself this time once I have some help to unmount it.
