I've been waiting for these 2K cameras from Eufy and it just came up on JB Hifi together with their after hour sale tonight until 7am tomorrow.

They also have 2 pack & 4 pack systems and I believe the code will also work.

  • bought the 4 pack, great price for new cameras

  • Hmm is the resolution bump the only difference between the 2C and the 2C Pro?

  • -1

  • I have been waiting ages for the 2k versions to come to australia. But now it seems ill be waiting for even longer. I think i want the plus version with double the battery life. That one is missing the LED flood light though, not sure which to get.
Also, i think this one has the more basic base station which may not have an sd card slot to expand the storage (i could be mistaken tho)

  • How are eufy? seen them a fair bit in recent jb hi fi and bunnings catologues… need to get eventual IR sensors and the usual house alarm, but looking to install a few key cameras and wondering what the 'goto' affordable/middle ground are. Say one outside the back, front, side of house, and one or two in the main areas. Do the eufy or any other brands come recommended - and the ability to say record recent footage to cloud as well as live viewing (to do away with on board/CCTV style hard drive storage required)?

And do most of these cameras just come wire-less these days, with recharging batteries the norm? Would have thought it would be fairly affordable and more carefree to buy said cameras and have electrician wire up powerpoints/mount to ceiling in required places??

    • the Eufy range are touted as "cloudless" systems. They don't come with any cloud storage and i think it costs around $5-10 a month per camera if you wish to enable it. On the other hand Arlo and Ring come with some basic cloud access with additional to be paid.

The whole selling point of Eufy is that the footage doesn't go to the cloud unless you want it to, whereas with Arlo and Ring they are integrated and you have no choice really.

I think not having to get an electrician gets over the initial hurdle and then when customers get tired of having to recharge they can pay someone to come in and do it, otherwise just keep going as is :D

      • Not right re: cloud storage cost. Its $99 per year and that allows 10 cameras max.

      • But if one wants to call an electrician to get around recharging regularly you would need to go with a camera system that connects via powerplugs right? So these eufy if one gets tired of charging don't come with built in power plug attachments? If they really do last a year and have accurate charge required notifications then an once a year recharge wouldn't be too much to ask. I'm presuming the attach/detach phase is easy to do for recharging?

Do any of the camera with cloud storage allow Google drive and one drive ? Or do these all work off dedicated servers e.g. Arlo and ring cloud systems?

I don't mind the local micro SD or even the optionality as eufy mentions this can save to a NAS device which I presume is a hard drive locally. But having the option to stream live or capture cloud stored recordings should a thief pinch the hard drive or camera storage card seemed appropriate. I suppose one only needed a few days or a week of cloud to rewind if they discover issues. So long cloud storage isn't required: are the Arlo and ring free for this purpose?

Is it generally just easier and trouble free wiring up via electrician or much much cheaper just diy these wire less solutions?

I suppose the other question is how reliable is the 1 yr charge and how far does a home base reach? Given WA uses double brick vs these originate from the US…. I read that the home base nreeds to be ethernet connected right? Indicating it'll be behind our garage where the NBN terminates. So reaching side and back of house would on a standard 13-15m wide X 27-30m deep block (say 375m2-400 snug lots) be quite hard with a home base unit?

Have read you can use two? Does this require a mesh router to the back which is connected to home base 2? Or can one simply connect router to Homebase via ethernet and have Homebase 2 unit #2 wirelessly connected to unit #1? Or do all home bases only work off ethernet physical connections?

      • How does eufy compare to other touted brands like hikvision which seemed to be pretty common amongst home diy'ers apart from Arlo, google nest and ring products?

  • Oh yes finally the 2k version in Aust. Gonna hang out for the the plus version though but otherwise great find OP!

  • At SCA you can get a 2 pack for $339.15 and an additional camera for $161.49 so total $500.64 with free delivery or C&C if you can find a local store that has both in stock, decent deal if you have any SCA gift cards.

    • Love the potential bargain workaround, though just double check that they are the 2C "Pro" version that has a higher 2K resolution.

You can find the SKUs you need to look for at the products on this page: https://myanker.com.au/eufy-security/security-camera.html

      • You are spot on mate, my bad I should have checked the numbers.

  • Mine got delivered on Thursday. Installed it on Sat and so far so good. The only down side for this one is when I connect it to Apple Homekit, both streaming & recording resolution changed to 1080.
