This is the best deal I found so far but this deal is running out soon. I just bought two at the Knox store. The phone is awesome…

  • I saw you have to pay $16/month for the mobile.

  • +1

nope only $5…it is the best deal atm and i checked everywhere…trust me.

    • This was posted yesterday (Nexus $29 cap + $5/mth). The only difference is the free F1 tix.

Can you amend your post to include $29 cap + $5 handset repayments?

  • contract length, included calls etc…?

  • it is the usual $29 cap which includes $180 of calls over 24mths

  • How come on Voda's website it's $29+16/month???

  • I take it its ground pass F1 tickets ?

  • yeah only general admin tix for sun…must be instore only

  • Instore deal it seems.

A rep posted this on the $19 clearance phone thread but it was yanked.

Supposedly, it's because the voda $29 cap + $5/mth SGS2 deals were running out of stock so a decision was made to supply the Nexus as replacement deals.

    Not a bad deal.

  • Foaming at the mouth for this deal. Too bad I got the s2 4 months ago…

    $816 minimum cost.

Really should put that up top, in the spirit of our Australian consumer laws.
I phoned Voda to see if they were doing the same deal on "Hot for Voda", but was told no. Still $16/m there.

  • Most people know how contracts work and can do the maths…still the cheapest plan around and as said earlier it appears to be only available instore…

Most people know how contracts work and can do the maths…

Your naïve faith in humanity is touching. Never had to deal with the general public, have you? :-)

Yes, I'm amazed that the best phone out there is going so cheaply.

      • +1

I would argue the best phone out there is the galaxy note. But you're right technically since the note is not officially out yet in Australia.

        • +1

The Galaxy Note is more of a phablet than a phone… ;)

  • Anyone got an official advert for this deal? Some stores are saying you only get the tickets if you take out the $49 plan. Some say you only get the tickets if you are already a Vodafone customer. One store told me you can get the tickets on the $29 plan and also a free DVD player. No consistency at all here from Vodafone.

  • Awesome deal! Do you need to be a new customer? And can you sign up through an existing member and get 10% off?

    • not sure…My mate was a new customer and I was upgrading a existing plan that…

    • No, if you already have an account yourself, you can 10 per cent off by entering the promo code SAVE10

      • That's if you sign up online. This is an In store promotion.

  • Yeah that was the original offer but they extended it yesterday to the $29 plan + $5 per month yesterday..check your store to check their corporate emails. That is what the lady at the store in knox told me at least. There was only a small black and white a4 print out hanging in the store yesterday. Maybe your store can call the knox store to confirm…since they are all part of the same franchise…I will try to find the number and post it soon.

    • One store I called said they wouldn't honour the deal on the Galaxy Nexus because they had stock of the Galaxy S2. So stores that don't have stock of the S2 are offering the Nexus instead.

  • +2

Just went to a store after seeing this and can vouch for this deal. Sales person told me its only available till Tuesday 21st Feb. Now a proud owner of a nexus

  • its a five days special..

for shops that ran out of galaxy s2

  • I was wondering why vodafone requested this deal to be deleted yesterday. now i see its not an across the board sale. They probably didnt want people who can't get it to whinge. Very professional, not.

    • +1

Maybe because it was confirmed by a single dealer as something applicable to their store, but not necessarily all stores.

I think you are being harsh.

  • I was deciding between this and an iphone 4s, but after learning the Nexus is 16GB only, I went with iphone.

  • +1

nope I asked them and they said it was definitely a countrywide offer. Third party dealers did not have to offer it but all proprietary Vodafone/3 stores had to honour the deal. Just call the store where I bought mine…I found the number too: 03 9887 0111

    • Thanks. Will call them in the morning.

  • I've heard you can haggle down to $59 + $10 for 12m if you're an existing customer.

Makes this deal less repetitive, especially if you bolt additional data.

    • Mathematically speaking - you would be paying more overall.

      • technically, yes, but you're getting far better call allowance, and only tied into a 1 year contract. With this existing offer (linked to below) though there might be some bargaining room to have the $10 month waived.

You can get Nexus S on $29 a month with $0 phone repayments until the 20th, with 2 months free if you order online.

    http://shop.vodafone.com.au/mobile-details/Nexus-S?plantab=2…

The page DOES NOT state that this price is online only, so it may pay to take a print out with you to the store. Ends tomorrow though.

There's some feedback from Nexus owners here that might make you think twice though

Why are you comparing this with Nexus S?

  • Anyone knows if this phone does HSPA 850/1900? Vodafone's site states that the phone supports HSPA 900, 1700, 2100.

Don't Vodafone now use 850 as well? Any idea how well this phone with play with Telstra?

    • Not sure what HSPA is but I recall it stated something with 850Mhz or something along the lines….

  • Not sure if its the store that I went to.. but they are offering nexus on the $29 cap + $5 without the 2 Free tix for F1. Any1 hv the same situation?

    • I picked up mine from the Vodafone store in glen Waverley and got the free tickets on the $29 plan. don't go to a dealer.

  • I'm quite tempted to get the nexus. But after reading about its mediocre battery performance, speakers and camera.. i'm not too sure :(

Has any1 here got the nexus recently and would like to share some experience? :) Cheers!

  • if anyone still interested in this deal, minus the F1 tickets. Let me know i will be able to get it for you!
