When a laptop just won't cut it.
24 inches
1440p IPS monitor
Built-in speakers

I've followed this item for years. Has never been available locally and shipping has always been extremely expensive.
Unfortunately, it won't fit an Xbox Series X, nor PS5.

At this price should include at least a ps4

    1440p IPS monitor

Yet of the consoles supported none supports 1440p.
    That price is absurd aswell.

1440p seems like an awful choice seeing as the ps4 cant do 1440p so it wnds up looking blurrier than 1080p

This seems like a cool thing to build, rather than buy… hmmm. Ideas forming…

This is what I made at the beginning of lockdown last year.

Yeah, a little usb hub and an offline charging solution… thats got real potential. Good work.

Haha brilliant!! Looks amazing. Very well thought out and refined =) and I'm sure a few quid less than $750!

…a portable console does seem like a slightly odd thing to make in a time you can't move around…but lockdown I suppose does afford you the time to do it =)

        Sweet

      • How's the airflow of the console? Id be worried about overheating but i love the idea of these. Never knew these were a thing until now.

        • It gets hot at the rear, even the case is really warm, but I played hours of FF7Remake, no issues.

I specifically moved the console to the centre, to get as much space behind the console as I could.

TL:DR Unless your a streaming gamer Zuckerberg, get the Vanguard for way less cost.

I have the GAEMS Vanguard and can rate that model very highly. It's a big hit with anyone who games and frequently travels, though park that right now! Solid protection, not too heavy, can and have used it at airports while waiting and fits every console save series X.

Looking at this model I would say it's clearly targetted at streamers, as the word picture on the Amazon listing bangs on about. As noted above the consoles that fit might not take advantage of the 1440p resolution and it's commented to be quite heavy, which makes sense given the materials it appears made of. Maybe if you had a smallish gaming PC or series S…….
I'm perfectly happy with my now 8 year old Vanguard that's FHD and 18 inch, it won't fit my series X either, but I kept my Xbox one for that reason if I travel.
Also have a switch so I'm good.

    • Its aimed at American Military
American solders are known to get into debt as soon as they enlist, buying new cars and random stuff like this.

      • 31% interest on a Cadillac?! How can I say no!

  • When you absolutely must play ps4 on the bus, this is the solution

  • I wish something like this existed for PC Gaming with the PC built in

      Billion dollar idea!

Make it slim, add a keyboard to it as well. Hopefully, light enough to place on top of your lap.

God that was a lot of sarcasm in two sentences.

Drilling VESA mount holes in the side of the case has been something ive done for years (a few other friends do, also).

Velcro straps help secure a keyboard and provide a handle when traveling.

Diy lan party rigs were a massive rage in the early 2000's; lots to google if you're interested.

You might want to start with "briefcase PC".

  • Heh. I was thinking about this the other day.
