Does this fit on my xiaomi 34 inch curved screen?

    • +1

Would also love to know this

      • +3

I would not like to know this

        • +1

          Me neither

          • @superm86: Me neither … wait …. somebody said Xiaomi …. erg … I am interested

    • +4

I'll let you know in 4 weeks

    • should be fine. I've got a xiaomi one and the bracket is wide.

      • might have issues with the light reflection on the screen as it is a curved screen. I had issues with light bar on a 27" samsung gaming monitor so I would assume this would also have the same inherent issues being a curved screen as well.

        • Works fine on my asus 34 ultrawide. It has a matte finish though.

          • @Caped Baldy: The glare isn't terrible, it's just mainly at the top of the screen. But then again, screens can differ in size, curvature etc, so maybe there are some small amounts of screens that work okay with lightbars.

    • Isn't the mount just site on monitor not clip on? As per photo.

So it should fit every monitor right

  • Cheers op, pre-ordered one

Is it going to light up all dust on my screen?

    • The answer is YES!

  • +2

What's the point of this if you have a room light and a monitor screen?

    • -1

Lights up the keyboard if you dont have illuminated keys I spose

      • Found the hunt n peck typer.

        (Jk)

        • Not me, I even spraypaint the keys. Characters are for newbs.

The point is to buy cheap useless products from China.

      • +5

Think that should say, customers want useless stuff and are cheap, therefore people make it in China, instead of getting it manufactured for a higher price elsewhere - then again you could always buy the dyson lightcycle for $800 - but that's also made in china. .

In all seriousness, you would get this if you don't want to take up deskspace with a lamp, the light is a lot more uniform than a normal lamp and lights up the space infront of your monitor especially if you are doing paperwork infront or purely just typing. It also looks a lot more professional (without the rgb)
I think I have some similar version that isn't rgb but it's the mi brand instead of blitzwolf

Depends on how bright your room light is.

Do I need something like this in the office? No, of course not, it's well lit. Do I prefer to have something like this at home where I don't have a very bright light above my computer desk and have a dark desk top? Yes. It provides some light on the desk without taking up any desk space.

Horses for courses, it is useful if your setup isn't ideal.

I have one (quntis light bar) and it actually makes a big difference. gives me a nice light right where I work and play games (around 7-10 hours a day) and noticed less eye strain. Can also have the main room light off or really low giving a a nicer "ambiance". sounds like crap but one of my favourite new desk setup purchases. Me personally I'd give the RGB a miss though

  • -1

Could get a light strip for $15 to do the same thing, probably better.

  • +1

The bracket is secured to the top of your monitor with an adhesive sticker.
You must physically touch the side of light bar to turn it on/off every time or at its power source.
I hope the light bar (and attached USB cable) is weight balanced so the whole thing does not fall off over time.

  • These things should cost $7-8

    • +3

Are you selling? I'll take 2. kthxbye!

  • +3

    I have the Xiaomi one… I mean… It's a lamp .. a rather expensive lamp… I don't know why it's so expensive. It's okay .. but I wouldn't recommend it.

I bought one cause it seems so damn popular and I wanted to see what the fuss is all about.

i guess i would like the rgb backlight more than anything else

  • Looks like a great way to see all of the dust on your screen

  • What non cosmetic benefit do these Lamps serve?
I wanna get one but don't care much for cosmetics alone.

    • +1

If you are reading books or paperwork at your desk it gives great light. For me I got one (3 temp white) when WFH and it was a huge help. Still use it for seeing the keyboard and desk every day. A great desk lamp without needing desk space or a power point (they are USB).
I feel like it reduces eyestrain for me as well.

I would add.that.they vary in how well they mount and control location. I prefer an inline control I can blutack to the back edge.of the screen. On bar is okay if only you use it.

  • How's this one compared to Baseus I-Wok previously for around $30 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/623028

    • The Iwok seems to have a better mount method (depending on your monitor) but no rear lights. Have used it and like it. Esp at that price.

  • +6

I have Kogan version of this lamps. It's great build quality, made of metal.
I keep this light on both of my monitors during the day and night as I feel less strain on my eyes (I work from home exclusively). It's hard to explain how good it until you try them.

  • Is it possible to bend these into shape?

    • No

    • +19

You can bend them, but only once.

  • +1

Does it have a webcam built in, where do you put a webcam?

    • +1

Oooo..wow! Can I have one with a blue tooth speaker and built in mouse pad?

    • …Also with RGBIC as well…

    • ….and abilty to order food via Pandaren Xpress?

Try one of these it has a built in webcam

    • +1

After taking a good look it would seem you cant use this and a webcam at the same time, well one that mounts to the top of your monitor.

  • -2

    Lol ~AUD$33 now :D

    • Need to add $4.29 shipping to the $33

  • How does that compare to Xiaomi monitor lamp?

  • +1

I got the Xiaomi light bar which I am happy about but realized that it's not as compatible due to the mounting mechanism.

This would be more compatible with all sorts of monitors. With the Xiaomi, you need a flat or flatish backed monitor. If you got anything like me like the LG 27GL with a protruding ring in the back then the Xiaomi won't work.

Right now I got the Xiaomi off centre to the right of the monitor because it can't be centred.

So if anyone has my monitor or has a similar issue, get this one.

  • Can I use this with my laptop? would be great if I can but concerned that the monitor might be too thin…….. :(
