I’ve bought 2 with this deal and can stack

    • +5

      you can stack 3

      • +4

He's no Yertle The Turtle 🐢

      • My question is, if you stacked 3 last year, can you do more this year?

  • Is there any way to do this and pay extra to 4K Netflix? As I already have the top-tier Netflix, but I am in the market for a Chromecast with Google Tv.

    • +13

Yeah, you get Netflix credit and that can be used for six months of a certain Netlfix plan or for whatever Netflix is offering. So for the top tier account, that credit is going to last less than six months.

      • Oh its a credit. That makes it easier then. Thanks

      • 👍😁

    • +7

Is there any way to do this and pay extra to 4K Netflix?

It is just $95.94 netflix credit, so you can use any plan.

      • +20

Are you feeling OK? Something seems a little off about you

        • +2

Something does seem a little off about jv…

      • yeah.. are u ok?

    • +1

It’s a Netflix voucher that goes on your account to use on any subscription, to the value of $96.94

      • +1

        Damn!!! Mine was only $95.94

  • +25

    That is the normal price.

Has been that for over 6 months now and discussed in lots of threads…

Normal price is not a bargain…

    • +3

Agreed. But it's a limited time deal.
I've bought two and will buy one more for my mast dumb TV to keep it going for a few more years.

These are great and means less e- waste

The Netflix credit is a bonus, but do I even still watch Netflix? Not as much as I used too. It's just there these days.

    • -1

the normal price is $45? because that is effectively this deal's price if you are a Netflix user.

      • +1

As in this has been available for quite some time and isn't anything particularly new.

Surprised to see a post about this again since it's brought up in each other standalone deal posted for deals from normal brick and mortar stores.

Unless this was removed and then has started up again, it's odd to see the deal get reposted.

  • Can you get cashrewards or use discounted gift cards for this? What type of gift card - does anyone know?

    • No to both.

  • +3

By the way, make sure you check this deal out too to save $25

    Code Request Megathread

    • +1

There still seems to be a lot of people asking for a code from when it was first published. Unless people don't update once they get a code?

      • how can you get a code from google, not Oz bargain. Is it targeted?

        • Click on the link to "this deal" above and there you shall get your answer to "if Targeted" :-)

  • So the credit for Netflix is I'm guessing a code voucher?, so can one give/pass the voucher to a family or friend? Or even better sell it?

If it's a Netflix code voucher (virtual voucher) is there an expiry date?

    • +1

From memory, It's a code linked to the Chromecast device and not a physical voucher. One however can use the code on any Netflix account by logging into that account from the Chromecast when code shows up.

    • To redeem the Netflix offer, customers must set up an eligible Chromecast with Google TV device and follow the instructions to apply the offer value to a Netflix account by 1 March 2022.

I would say it is linked to the device, so you wouldn't be able to share or sell the Netflix credit.

      • +3

You can apply the credit to "any" Netfix account however needs to be done on your device i.e. by logging into preferred Netflix account and apply the credit there.
Once done, one can log out of it and log into your own. Handy if selling to a family or friend however makes it hard to sell unless the buyer was prepared to give you temp access to their account to apply the credit!

        • Yeah makes sense but would make it too tricky to sell to a random. Although I think this deal is better if you just use the credit.

        • -1

So does Google accept opened product as a return? The wording implies they do?

So buy 3 devices, open all 3, put 18 months netflix on account then return 3 devices?

          • @Nalar: Will not refund without the credit returned - read carefully

            • @Jjj888: "If you return the device within the allowable return period and have already redeemed the Netflix offer, you will be refunded $99.00 (cost of the Chromecast device)"

which means it's $41 for $96 credit, just checking to see if anyone has does it already.

              • @Nalar: To redeem the Netflix offer, customers must set up an eligible Chromecast with Google TV device and follow the instructions to apply the offer value to a Netflix account by 1 March 2022.

                So you need a Chromecast

                • @Jjj888: you just open up the chromecast, use the chromecast to get the credit. return chromecast, get $99 back. can use netflix on any device after that.

I have not done it @Nalar, but this would seem to work?

                  • @yoquierotaco: Return it after its been used? And pay postage costs? Seems like a lot of trouble

                    • @Jjj888: yea it's a bit of a mess around, but that's what Nalar was suggesting to do in his first post.
in regards to shipping, you can pay with paypal to get that shipping reimbursed. In the end, you're paying $41 to get $96 Netflix credit

      • Now is there a hack for ones Chromecast 🤣

  • Your everywhere Mr Borg, but thanks so I guess my Chromecast I think I purchased from Jbhifi wouldn't qualify

    • +1

Haha…yeah. Olympics are boring and OZB topics coming up that I am interested in (or know a little about in some cases). I'll try be quiet :-)

      • All good I pretty much live here, I certainly love bargains, don't understand how people waist there time on Facebook, unless there on Facebook buy and sell then that's different lolz

    • Forgot to answer your question. That's correct as it's a Google special and only for devices purchased via their systems.

      • Of course I'm gonna try it out on my Jbhifi Chromecast if post all 👍😁

I think I paid $75ish for mine so since I don't really watch Netflix this bargain wouldn't really apply for me though have passed this on too family and friends who have a current Netflix subscription

This Chromecast is not a bad device actually, a lot faster then there previous Chromecasts

  • Anybody knows how this offer works for Netflix account billed through iTunes especially one with grandfathered fees?

    • It is just credit into your account.

Your billing will pause until all the credit is used up.

Similar to applying a Netflix gift card…

      • Wrong. And once you're off iTunes billing (especially with grandfathered rates) you can't go back.

        • Promotional offers can't be used on an account that is billed through iTunes. Your Netflix promotion can be redeemed by first canceling your Netflix billing through iTunes, then redeeming your promotion once your current billing period has ended.

        • No, you currently cannot redeem a Netflix gift card on an account that is being billed through iTunes. If you would like to use the Netflix gift card, you will need to cancel your Netflix account and restart it using the gift card. Please note that you will need to wait until your account closes before you can restart it with a gift card.

        • Promotional offers can't be used on an account that is billed through iTunes.

          It isn't a promotional offer.

It is credit in your Netflix account.

I pay for Netflix via iTunes. I've just received my new Chromecast TV and after trying to redeem the credit, I received a message that my account is not eligible.
So now I need to make the call to either open a new account or return the device.

Seems like the answer is still no.

  • Can we use Google play credit on this?

    • Doesn't seem like it. Shame, since all those Reward surveys I've done could finally come in handy

  • +1

Can the credit be applied to accounts created in other countries, like say Turkey?

    • "The offer must be redeemed in the same country in which a user’s Netflix account is established."

      • +1

Does that just mean I need to 'travel' back to Turkey to redeem?

    • Was wondering the same thing, still the fine print isn't totally clear if the users account is established in another country (say Turkey)… then it works?

      • Can you try for us and get back on your findings well success 👍😁

    • It's a good question, I'm not game to buy only to find out I can't apply the credit… If someone is game to try out buying then 'travelling' to Turkey to redeem the credit would love to know the results!

    • Based on this link, I'm guessing it won't work as the currencies don't match?

      https://help.netflix.com/en/node/32950#

  • Standard two screen means no ULTRA HD quality?

    • +2

It's just credit on your account. You can use any plan.

      • Got it

  • So if you return this it's 60% off Netflix credit.. $41 for $96 credit

    • +1

Depends how you look at it.

You're assuming a full price Chromecast, but in recent weeks they have been a lot cheaper (I picked one up a fortnight ago for just over $60).

      • No, they said you get a $99 refund in the T&C if you return the hardware but have used the coupon.

      • +1

Cheapest I saw was 79. Where did you get it for 60?

  • Can you stack up two Netflix credit into one Netflix account?

    • Yes

    • You can stack up to 3.

  • Who pays the return shipping fee?

    • +2

Google, but pain in the ass. They make you print and sign 6 documents or something. At least someone comes to your house and picks it up though

      • Ok that’s not so bad. While we are in a WHM situation, this is easily doable. Thanks Danny1213 :)

        • Oh and also, when I returned mine, I claimed the Netflix credit and they still refunded me the full amount.

But when I tried to order a second one a few months later, there was no Netflix credit attached.

          • @danny1213: Interesting. I’ll order 2. Thanks again :)

          • @danny1213: Do you remember how long it took for the email to come through after filling in the 'return my order' form? This didn't really work well with my parents TV, filled in the form last night which loads the page "you will get an email within 20 minutes" and Nada since.

            • @MeesusEff: I didn’t wait long at all… I think it was instant? Maybe try chatting to them

              • @danny1213: The instructions one came immediately but once I filled out the form then nothing. Will try the chat tmr, thanks

  • Don't forget if you have Google One you get cash back!!!

This Chromecast can be bought for $80, $85 when on sale.. then add Netflix via VPN currency ~$8.00 a month, top tier.

    $85 + $48 (6 months netflix) = ~$133

    • which country for $8.00 a month for Netflix?

      • +1

Turkey, it's $8.85 right now haha

      • +1

This year the prices I paid range between $7.46 and $8.75.

    • Turkey subscription 4k
      1 June $8.45
      1 July $8.51

  • Cheers OP. used it with my $25 coupon got earlier in the year.

    • Who does the email come from for the discount so I can filter my inbox. Thanks

  • I've already purchased 3 of these (2 for family members), and applied the credit for all 3 to my Netflix account. According to the terms there is a 'Limit of three per customer/Google Account'.
I'd be keen to buy another one under a separate Google account, but wasn't sure whether I'd be able to apply a 4th credit to the same Netflix account.
Anybody happen to have tried this or know whether it would work?

    • Would like to know as well. Did the same as you. Bought 3, used 3 Netflix credits. Would like to buy another one.

      • I just asked Netflix support. According to them it won't be an issue. YMMV of course.

        • Thanks

  • +1

Its only good for those who want Netflix. I got one without the Netflix but I have Prime. I already wonder why people need so much streaming account?

Also there are cheap ways to get Netflix if yo want it down the line. So I think the one without Netflix is better deal, I pay $70 for mine delivered.

    • This works out to be $43.05 delivered for those that already subscribe to Netflix.
As for "Cheap" ways to get Netflix, I assume you mean via subscribing via overseas account. If so, not everone wants the hassle or have any interest in doing that. In turn this deal is by far the cheapest way to grab the device new.

      • Yes if you want to pay Australia Netflix price and yo actually have time for it… (I assume most people already have Prime and FTA streaming).

As for "Cheap" ways to get Netflix, I assume you mean via subscribing via overseas account. If so, not everone wants the hassle or have any interest in doing that.

If you read the latest comment on the Netflix thread, its quite simple!

        • how did you get yours for 70?

  • Has anyone been able to use the credit on Turkey Netflix?

    • Why would you want to use on Turkey Netflix. I think it makes more sense to just buy it when it's on special for roughly $80 or so and pay for your Turkey Netflix as per normal. Works out to be the same.

  • Cant believe that this has never been posted, i used it off another thread but didn't post as thought it had been
