  • Any cable with Iphone pin and Usb C?
    And transfers data

    • I don't use Apple, but the listing says the ip outlet is for Apple? I guess so?

      • These all appear to have the data transfer on the iphone plug, none appear (from the photos) to have data on the type C

        • If they're not Mfi then data transfer's a temporary convenience (indeed non Mifi lightening cables used to fail to charge too after updates).

          • @0jay: I've updated my iphone several times and the cable still works fine

            • @Ben Kenobi: Patterns change.

It used to be unofficial cables only worked for a limited time (often bricked by an update), that may've changed

    • +2

I have the 30cm 3 in 1 cable and it's currently plugged into my MBP through a usb-c hub.

Charges the phone and syncs data too.

Hope this answers the other 'sync' questions below too.

    • The data one is the Black Lighting cable. The Red Lightning cable is for charging only.

EDIT. The colour scheme is different from the Baseus ones I ahve bought but I can confirm that with the Double iPhone cable ones that ONE is also designed to be a DATA cable while the other is not.

  • +6

This is definitely not in the USB specs, 17.5W output total and no data on how the power is split between the devices.

Handy to have in a pinch and probably fine to use with 1 device at a time.

    • +1

thats a good statement, no idea how the power is split b/w multiple ports, from my experience charging is really slow

    • +2

The intention of this cable is for the convenience of being able to plug in anything without unplugging the cable from the master device, not for plugging in multiple devices at the same time.
Plugging in multiple devices is going to be a bad idea.

      • +2

Not sure if I agree. Imagine you and your partner are both low on battery in the evening before dinner and you both want to plug it in to keep using it whilst in the kitchen, this will keep both devices powered on and charging. Sometimes it’s not about getting a device powered up to 100% in the shortest possible time but allowing 2 devices to charge simultaneously, allowing you both to still use your phone in the interim.

        • Worth brushing up on your USB standards again.
You can absolutely use it that way, but ESEMCE is correct that it's not the intention, because it doesn't meet any of the standards to do so.
I've used 3 connections at once, too (on a similar cable, not this one). and no problem with them all NOT trying to fast charge.
But its not the intention is still the point.

          • +4

@MasterScythe: Did you even bother to check out the listing? Did you see how Baseus is marketing this? 'Simultaneous charging'. Pretty lame to say it's not the intention of the 3-in-1 cable and I need to brush up on my USB standards… I think I provided a pretty valid use case for when this can be used to charge more than 1 device at the same time.

            • +2

@bozbargain: One of those cases of the Marketing Department not talking to or just flat out ignoring the Engineering Department.
If the data pins are all wired up, expect negative consequences for all connected devices.

              • -1

@ESEMCE: Or Engineering flat out ignoring the demand as identified by the Marketing department… This seems like a perfectly fine cable to (slow)charge multiple devices. The shunt/voltage stability picture looks pretty flash, I doubt that’s Marketing dreaming that up.

            • @bozbargain:

Did you even bother to check out the listing? Did you see how Baseus is marketing this? 'Simultaneous charging'.

I did. What's your point though? The world is filled with products which are marketed in ways that an international standard forbids.
While you're welcome to use it how you see fit, how do you know that the person reading your comment is also up to date on the standards?
A LOT of people are behind on the new whitepapers from Nov2020.

Pretty lame to say it's not the intention of the 3-in-1 cable and I need to brush up on my USB standards…

              Why is that?
It sounded like you were advocating for a use that's outside the international standard.
If your advocation popped a polyfuse on a motherboard or such, while legally they have no leg to stand on, I'd personally feel responsible.

I feel it's not right to advocate for things that can be damaging if the user isn't well educated on USB specifications.
If I was wrong, and you ARE brushed up on your USB standards; cool, share the 'life hacks' but I'd argue it's just right to let them know the risks, no?

To play devils advocate with myself:

If you are brushed up on your specs, and you saw they were marketing it as the intention then this community usually really likes it when users warn others about potentially damaging electronics.

      Taken from description:

iP port:Transmitting data and charging for Apple devices
Micro port:Charging For Android devices, including Android, portable power banks and small fans
      Type-C Port:Charging For Type-C devices,Xiaomi and Samsung

      Fast charging through 3.5A current

Maximum of 2A for a single line

  • Type C + iP + Micro 30 cm (you can select it from the dropdown) in the photo has a flash symbol (for charging) on Type C and Micro plugs, but USB symbol (so for data) on the only iP plug it has.

Is it just incosequent marking? I guess it's going to just charge an iPhone, right?

    • I noticed scrolling in the listing it says "iP port:Transmitting data and charging for Apple devices"?

      • Now I wonder if that's going to make the iPhone reject the cable sooner, because it's not MFI. Or perhaps it doesn't matter if it's data+charging or charging-only?

        • +2

Yeah no idea mate i dont use apple gear. The listing has positive reviews so if it didnt work for apple when it says it does you'd think someone would of griped.

        • +1

I've been using one for over a year (the 3 split Baseus cable) and it hasn't failed…use it for iphone, samsung8 and to charge micro usb banks…all seem to work but data is only on iphone

    • +1

This what I found scrolling down on the product page: "*Note: Only iP interface has data transmission function
*To ensure that multiple devices can be charged normally at the same time, use a Baseus charging plug of above 2.4A"

  • These good quality?

    • +1

I have many Baseus cables, the normal braided single type, never used one of these before. I'm going to get one to try it out, useful to keep in the car I think

    • +2

I've had no issues with Baseus stuff so far, although as pointed out by serideth these appear to support standard charging rates so if you want high powered for fastest charging these are not the cable to get.

      • Found in the description, not sure what it means though "Fast charging through 3.5A current Maximum of 2A for a single line"

    • I've got a 3 in 1 on my desk which slowly charges phone, keyboard, mouse etc etc when needed.

    • Quality is great. I have four of them and the only one that broke was when my iPhone fell off a table and landed on the join of the cable and the iPhone and bent it. The others are all rock solid.
At night time I normally charge up two iPhones and sometimes my wireless headset. I never use the USB-C plug though.

  • How do I find one that are able to sync data and be used for Android Auto/Apple Carplay?
Have bought few in the past and none work.
    Doubt these will either

    • +1

I tried this with my car, it doesn’t work for Android Auto (tried on Pixel or Samsung S21).

  • +2

I've got the 3 in 1 and it works well with a variety of Apple devices and my Pixel 5 which is very picky with cables.

Haven't tried multiple devices at once though.

  • Could anyone please explain me when it says 1.2m and 30cm. But my understanding is all cables from one end to other end are 1.2m.

    • +18

The 1.2m options are 1.2m long.
The 30cm cables are 30cm long.

The 30cm ones are not 1.2m long

      • +4

        Ok thank you for explaining.

    • +1

Yes, it's 90cm from the USB-A end until it splits into the 4 cables (which are 30cm each). So total length is 1.2m

  • +1

I thought these were resistance exercise bands for a moment…

  • Any deals for normal USB A to USB C cable?

  • +2

is there any options for a multi-cable with Mini USB, Micro USB, USB-C and Lightning?

I unfortunately still use some devices with Mini USB and would like a single cable hanging off my docking station for data/charging.

  • I find this very strange. If I click on the link here the discount is $0.46 but on Ebay app the discount is $0.55

    • -1

You should raise a complaint to ebay. If they don't help, take it up with ACCC….

      • yes it is

  • just snagged a 2x Type C

  • Will it charge all the devices if all 4 outlets are plugged in?

  • Its times like these where i thank the lord i'm an ebay plus member!

    • +2

Yes the extra 2% discount really seals the deal here!

  • +1

Edit: They seem to be adding more stock, now two of the items are available

  • Just keep on refreshing the eBay page and more items pop up. I just got the 2 IP + Type C + Mini cable.

EDIT: Even though I got this message:
    "Your order's in!
When your order has finished processing, we'll email info to [email protected].
You should get it by 6 Aug."

When I checked it in the order details screen I saw this:
"This order was not successful. Order cost has not been included in the total amount. "

I got message from seller, telling me that product is out of stock and offer to select 60 W USB c to USB c cable.is it worth?

    • +1

If you don't need the different outputs that is a faster charging cable than in the original listing.

  • Received mine today.

    • Got mine two days ago. Not a fan of the flex style cord as the connectors are too rigid and don't lay flat unless fully extended. Will keep that in mind next purchase. Great deal though and happy to have purchased. Thanks OP.
