i saw in a video you can just buy a keyboard numpad to do a similar job if you are on a tighter budget

Personally, I use an Android tablet and the free version of Deckboard.

      • any ios of that please?

          Touch Portal
          Streamlabs Deck

          • @DASHCAM NOW DUDE: thanks mate will give them a go

          • @DASHCAM NOW DUDE: I am using this, it works brilliantly but it drives me crazy every time the desktop client gets an update,
it would go through multiple pressing "next" before you can use it, and they keep pushing updates out constantly.
Let us know if we can turn off this crazy behavior, I could not find the option.

Our live streamers can start the streaming and walkaway with his/her phone and still have full control of OBS remotely.
You cant do this with keyboard or stream deck devices I would think.

Thanks Juiciness, glad I came here to sticky nose maybe my first actual google play purchase for the Pro version if I like the standard version 👍😁

      of course you can.

you can setup macros on your current keyboard too if you're on an even tighter budget.

Yep, the free Autohotkey is amazing for this

    • What you want is a midi controller such as Novation Launchpad: 65 buttons for ~$100 or so pre-owned.

      Or there are many others.

Then you can control OBS with midi using plugins or third party apps such as Voicemeeter Macrobuttons.

Also there are various Android and iOS options that can be used on tablets (or phones at a stretch).

6 key mini usb keyboard is $20 on ebay.
These are a good idea, and the light up icon buttons are nice, but if you just want a key for muting zoom etc. rather than a twitch streamer workflow you can save some money.

What would you recommend for remapping keys to such functions?

      • +1

I use Voicemeeter Macrobuttons which can do basically anything.

        Especially when combined with Nircmd.

It's not very user friendly though.

  • I have the 32 button one at home and work and its brilliant.

    • Have you got thoughts as to best uses for work related functions ?
I bought one last deal but yet to really adopt it daily

      • Start an onlyfans page. You be mashing them stream buttons.

I use it for a lot of apps but email and zoom control panel are especially useful.
basically each app ive converted over to a panel in the system.

I get a lot an i mean a lot of work mails. So biggest cool thing is having an ability to hit a macro that is clear. Sure you can use keyboard short cuts (essentially this thing is a labelled macros keyboard) but if you have lots of macros this is the best way.

          Example

I get an email from one group of people all the time at work asking for something and its not really me who needs to do what they want i can create a macro that

          Opens the email
Replies to the email with form text
          Sends the reply email
          Archives the email

So imagine having a batch of those

Also for other jobs and tools there are lots of examples of bulk macros.

Also zoom meetings i get the whole control panel so im not searching through their changing UI looking for a command.

          • @unifex: To be honest i don't know if this small screen one is super useful. Its cheap (for RRP). I'd wait for a bigger one.

Not to be confused with the Steam Deck.

A steam deck at this price? I will insta buy that.

And in 2021? We'll be lucky to see stock in 2022 in Australia

        • +1

I’m going to look into importing if it takes that long ugh.

    • This is the closest we'll get to the Steam Deck before 2022 :(

I tried the stream deck as it is very customisable for all different functions and key sequences.

It’s good technically, but the physical buttons are a let down.

The key caps wobble on top of the actual mechanism so (from memory) the keycap tilts down, then you need to press deeper to actually click the key.

It’s not THAT bad (my description sounds worse than it actually was), but it was too annoying compared to a real keyboard feel.

  • I use this as a button box on my sim racing setup. Only complaint i have with i is some games make me wonder if i should have gotten the next size up. The whole point of it tho is being able to easilly find the button u need without taking your eyes off the road for too long, so this one is probably perfect
