I read it as 'Circuit Maker' about 10 times

Would have thought it's circuit maker until you pointed it out

Until you wrote that, my brain only read it as Circuit Maker…

Still doesn't explain what it is to me, but a less confused now haha

Got this email and had no idea what it was lol

Yeah nah. Either sell expensive hardware with free software or cheap/free hardware with expensive software.

    Not both.

So "(Membership Required)" has to be twice in the header, right?
One paid membership to buy the device, another paid membership to be able to use it.

See below as the CEO back tracked quickly, first it was for unit purchased up until end of this year then they completely back tracked and there has been no change

At least post the update, which is only 3 days after your link was posted

"Cricut has announced in a new blog post that its automated cutting and printing craft machine will no longer require a subscription for unlimited uploads next year."

        unlimited uploads next year.

        So not after that?

“We’ve made the decision to reverse our previously shared plans. Right now, every member can upload an unlimited number of images and patterns to Design Space for free, and we have no intention to change this policy. This is true whether you’re a current Cricut member or are thinking about joining the Cricut family before or after December 31, 2021”

@SwarleyAUS: I dunno how much I trust the word of a business that tries to sneak in something so incredibly sh!tty.

no longer required a subscription for unlimited uploads next year

          So now and always unlimited

pity its not the maker 3

is this version able to cut leather and thin balsa wood?

      Yes, from their website

It handles fabrics, leather, paper, and balsa wood with effortless precision

It’s surprisingly awesome, speaking as someone who used to use CNC vinyl cutters and router tables. Sure, it’s little, but it does quite a lot really well.

I don't think its like for like. More tools with the Costco deal
