  • Am I the only one who still haven't received my refund??

    • +4

A refund for $0. You paid nothing so what are you complaining about.

      • +1

        I'm not complaining mate.
I'm just stating that I haven't received an email about my order cancellation…

  • I ordered 3 and haven't had anything cancel yet. I think I placed my order right as it changed to $0 though. Cancellation probably still on the way

  • I bought a pair of each (except the tennis shoes) and all three orders are still open. Received feedback on all three, too, though I assume that's automatic.

  • +1

Order cancalled and it's apparently MY fault.

    • Well it is your fault for taking advantage of a clear listing error.

      • -1

        Exactly

  • +2

seems like they are thinking about taking action against them

from the way my chat is going

    some examples of the messages

I am sorry to learn that seller is not willing to sell the item after you spent valuable time on purchasing the item. Indeed it is disheartening to know that they have not shown true spirit of selling items on eBay.

I understand all your inconvenience and expectation from this transaction. We never tolerate any non-selling behavior on eBay and therefore we have placed a mechanism to restrict such sellers and can penalize them based upon the feedback and Detailed Seller Ratings given by the buyers.

I would request you to please leave an appropriate feedback and Detailed Seller Ratings for this seller. Leaving a feedback is equivalent to reporting the seller and thus it will impact their future transactions on eBay as buyers across the site will see the feedback left by you.

We monitor all times when a seller initiates a cancel transaction, specifically when they cancel without the buyer's consent. This causes bad buying experiences, which we capture within the standards we set for our sellers. If they continue to cause these experiences, it can potentially lead to restrictions and/or suspensions of their account.

On 20th of every month, we review each and every seller account. A monthly review showing poor selling behavior can result in disciplinary or corrective actions.

So far only 1 of my 6 orders has been cancelled. Got a $40 voucher from Ebay chat for the cancelled order.

    • You got a $40 ebay voucher for paying $0 from your bank account?.

  • What to buy with the voucher now…

  • +3

Got a $40 voucher from Ebay chat for the cancelled order,
now my question is: they cancel 2 of my orders, should i ask them again for another $40 ?

    • +1

      Nah don't be greedy

    • any steps to get this voucher?

      • +1

no, just go live chat and say: I used a $40 ebay voucher to place order number: xx-xx-xx, seller canceled and refunded my order and my $40 voucher has now been wasted plz help.
and then they give me the voucher straight away.

        • +1

okay thank you for the tips. let me try

        • +1

You neglected to tell him that it was an ebay promo coupon. You didn't use a voucher at all to pay.

          • +2

@hollykryten: it saids it is an VOUCHER in the summary page,
you should talk to ebay first be4 u change it to "promo coupon"

        • +2

'my $40 voucher has been wasted'?

It wasn't even yours to begin with.

          • +1

            @denzel: why u being salty ? coz u missed ?
actually nothing is urs from the begin with until somehow you obtained.
when ebay put that voucher into my account then it is mine.

            • +2

@samelight: Sounds like you stole $40 from ebay.

              • @w37hsyea: haven't you ? it ended 10 hours ago, we ar here to exchange shipping or refund info.
if u missed then u don't have anything to share why u still here ? Jealous ?

            • @samelight: Not salty at all mate. A little honesty would go a long way though. Unfortunately, that's something you lack.

              • +1

@denzel: honesty? lol where is urs??
u want bargains, u want free stuffs, this is why u come to this forum in the first place !
dude don't pretend u ar not, this sale ended 21hours already and u still here coz u missed and u are jealous and salty.
we ar here to share the updates of our orders, u got nothing to share WHY u here?

this is the fact that you cannot avoid!
u came after the sale ended! if u aren't desperately want it then u won't click the link when u see it saids OUT OF STOCK !
if u ar not jealous and salty then u won't bother to join the chat with us.

admit it ! a little honesty would go a long way though, but unfortunately that's something you lack.

                • -3

@samelight: Absolutely mate! Not at the expense of integrity though - probably something you know nothing about . You can continue trying to convince me that I feel a certain way. You just make yourself look stupid while you try. All the best.

                  • +4

@denzel: im not trying to convince you anything, the way u act telling me what type of person u ar,
u want free shoes thats why u click the link, u want it so desperately thats why u still clicking the link after u see the big red OUT OF STOCK,
after u comform u missed u attack ppl with the words of "honesty" "integrity", even 20 hrs after it ended u still salty about it, that shows me how jealous u ar.
u don't have any moral high ground like this, the longer u stay just make yourself look more stupid, coz u shouldn't even be here after it OUT OF STOCK.

                    • -1

@samelight: Ah there you go again trying to convince me. Not trying to attack you mate. I'm telling you there's a right and wrong way of going about things. Take it however you want.

                      • +3

@denzel: Ah there you go again, 20 hrs after it ended u still here !
u click in when it is OUT OF STOCK thats wrong according to ur logic, 20 hrs latter still salty about it thats even worse!
how could you tell ppl whats right and wrong when u were wrong to show up here in the first place ?
Don't you have any shame ?

                        • -4

@samelight: Not at all. You probably should though.

                          • +1

@denzel: why u still here being salty?
u missed by 22hrs, we ar here to exchange after sale info, u got nothing to share just go away, get over it.

        • -1

Just leave the troll @samelight he's getting a reaction out of you, it's laughable that he's preaching "honesty" "integrity" on Ozbargain website where most of the upvoted deals are free or hacks. The community clearly disagrees with him with the deal at 233 positives and more than 4693 clicks not to mention the voting on the comments.

          • @OpenAI: The community upvoted a freebie deal. The community didn't upvote lying in order to get a voucher after the deal was knocked back. Learn the difference before you try and speak on behalf of the community.

            • @denzel: where is the "lying" ??

as i said to the other guy whos being salty,
"it is an VOUCHER in the summary page" !!
"when ebay put that voucher into my account then it is mine."

now tell me what did i lie?
dude don't let ur jealousy eat u up.

oh btw take a look ar the top and botton, all the salty ones ar the those who missed the deal, what a surprise !!!
and the most interesting thing is u all attacking with words like "honesty" "integrity".
others walk away with shame and u still here shamelessly.

            • +1

@denzel: Samelight didn't lie he went on chat and asked for his voucher back please let me know what he lied about and check your facts. It was eBay that gave him the voucher.

"no, just go live chat and say: I used a $40 ebay voucher to place order number: xx-xx-xx, seller canceled and refunded my order and my $40 voucher has now been wasted plz help."

The above statement is true he lost one of his 50 PLUSPAPA vouchers it's not up to him to determine what the compensation is.

And below are hacks that have been upvoted to oblivion by the community (These are just a few of the hundreds if not thousands of "Hacks" to get freebies or cheap prices)

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/619315 (Hundreds of ozbargainers requesting $200 vouchers which are reserved for repairs)

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/310917 (Free Netflix by using Singapore Netflix)

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/630631 (Heaps comments sharing how to get multiple prizes from creating new accounts and GPS spoofing)

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/608762 (Netflix deal on how to get around the system to pay cheap Netflix fees)

"Learn the difference before you try and speak on behalf of the community." Right back at you mate!

              • +1

@OpenAI: I'm all for freebies and hacks mate. Here, a promotional code was mistakenly given and now your boyfriend is trying to take advantage of a clear error by trying to claim it back. You can do your little research and post all the links you want, but as I said, you don’t speak on behalf of the moral compass of everyone here.

                • @denzel: hahah now we are throwing insults, no one is speaking on your behalf you're preaching your morals which like an ass everyone's got a different one. But it's good to see no response on how my "boyfriend" lied and how you're not policing the rest of ozbargain with your "morals".

Might be a surprise to you but "taking advantage of a clear error" happens on Ozbargain frequently

                  • -1

@OpenAI: Sorry mate did my 'boyfriend' comment make you feel a certain way? My apologies. No one is speaking on my behalf? Did I require someone to? Or have you not read the other comments which suggests that not everyone shares your views either? Nah, not policing the community at all, just expressing my opinion in response to one individual within his context. And as I already told him 'do want you want with it'.

                • @denzel: lol u don't even know whats going on here and u start to taking moral high grounds ?!?!

a promotional code was mistakenly given

there is nothing wrong with the promotion voucher, it was given at 10am it works fine until around 11:30am the seller decided to drop the price of the shoes.
so technically is the seller made it "free",nothing wrong with the promotion voucher itself, it is not "mistakenly given".
seller drop the price so that the promotion voucher from ebay is enought to cover the cost entirely.
you could read the comments from ppl who paid $30 for the shoes to conform this!
seller intentionally did this, the only "clear error" here is he oversale those shoes so he have to cancel some of the orders!

dude u ar pathetic, u don't even know what went wrong! u start trolling becoz of the jealousy!
u were too late! u missed! thats why u have no idea what has happened! this is the fact ! get over it.

              • +1

@OpenAI: There was no $40 to be given as money back to any customer because the customer never paid any $40 from their own money to begin with. It was ebay that paid the $40 in full from their own money through the ebay discount voucher. The $40 once the order was cancelled is void and it belonged to ebay in the first place. Therefore all these people who did it stole $40 from ebay under a deception. They knew that they didn't pay a cent. So there was nothing to refund to the customer.

Man there are so many thiefs here. Saying that since ebay is a multi billion dollar company that it's alright to steal $40 from them under deception. Because that it's a so rich company.

                • @hollykryten:

It wasn't a voucher. It was a free promotional discount coupon

                  https://imgur.com/a/pCafMkA
let me say that again ! it listed as VOUCHERs in ur summery page with the word VOUCHER next to it !
so if u want to keep insisting thats not a VOUCHER go talk to ebay first !
go live chat and educate them about those definitions !

im only using ebay's word to talk to ebay! how can that became a lie ?

You value your own ignorant opinion more then you value the fact that ebay admit it is a VOUCHER !
how many times u want me to repeat this ?

edit: dude why u keep changing ur stories like this, that was fast ! be4 i got a chance to reply you.
its good that u edit out the voucher vs promotional discount coupon argument but you should also stop making up those excuse,
u ar simply just jealous, thats why u keep changing stories, one excuse followed by another. just let it go ! u missed !! there is nothing u can do!!!

edit2: u make it sounded like we getting $40 in cash,
no ! ebay gave us $40 discount voucher and then seller canceled the order, the $40 discount voucher went back to ebay, you could see that from the msg of paypal.
then we make a complain about that $40 discount voucher being wasted and ebay offer us a $40 compensation voucher.
thats the full story, where is the lying part?
yes we never paid any $40 from our own money but so what ? thats the ebay plus member benefit, when we lost that benefit why can't we make a complain and ask for compensations?

    • Hell yeah . I would have tried when you had them before .

  • +1

Seems like ebay CS doesn't realise that "pluspapa" is a promotional code, just for the select items.

    • +2

Yeah they are handing out $40 ebay money vouchers when people had used a promo code. Man these ebay staff are stuffing up. No one here even paid $40 from their wallet. It was all on ebay to begin with.

      • Does a billion dollar company like eBay really care about a paltry $40. Companies like Amazon have become $40+ billion richer just since the pandemic.

  • +1

Got a voucher also for a cancellation, works on purchase of eBay gift cards too.

    • it saids

Your payment didn't go through. Please check your payment details or select a different payment option.

could you send me the link of the card plz,
also you send it to urslef or a gift to another email address?

      • I got a $50 one here. I believe you need to make sure you spend more than the balance or it'll error. I paid $10 more for the $50 card and it went through fine. I tried $40 and it failed processing, but $50 worked.

        • How long does it take to get the card?

I ordered one but it hasn't arrived

          • @edrift: Got mine within minutes. If you paid via PayPal alongside your voucher it shouldn't take too long to come through, can take up to 24 hours however.

            • @doweyy: Just got it. Was a bit slow but came through

      • +1

be careful of the payment error. max 2 errors/tries and the voucher disappears (shows as redeemed)

  • waiting for voucher, but seller seems unwilling to cancel my order…

  • +2

Unfortunately didn't get a voucher through eBay chat. May in the future.

"I have checked the details of order. We have received similar concerns from other buyers as well, and we are currently looking into the issue.

Do not worry we are looking into the possibilities of reinstating the voucher so that it does not gets wasted for you.

Rest assured we will get back to you within 24 to 48 hours with the update."

    • +6

Sounds like the ebay staff have now been instructed about the PLUSPAPA code being used. And they had realised how much they had stuffed up giving out $40 vouchers for freebie orders.

It was rather dishonest of all these people lying to ebay chat saying they paid with a $40 voucher. When they knew it was a discount promo code.

      • Are you ebay shareholder? lol

        • +1

Well, most big companies are super focused on costs, so if this blows out, they won't do these deals again.

          • @Cave Fire: Trust me a - a few $40 vouchers isn't going to ruin eBay

            • +1

@cyrax83: I'm sure adidas won't be doing any deals soon, even though this is the second time apparently…

              • @Cave Fire: Good - their eBay store is a fkn joke as well as their customer support

      • +2

wtf u talking about ? thats the benefits for ebay plus members,
doesn't matter it is a discount promo voucher or an universal voucher, it is still a $40 worth of value.
when the seller cancel your order you lost that value, even u didn't pay anything in the first place!

same as ur mobile, u join a sim plan they give u a phone for free, u didn't pay anything for the phone.
if someone smash ur phone do you "rather dishonest " to ask that person to pay you the market value of ur phone?
or just let it go becoz u didn't pay anything?

        • The issue is converting an item-specific voucher into a universal voucher (that can even be used to pay for gift cards!).

This is the equivalent of buying a sofa for $500 off, returning the sofa, and asking whether you can apply the $500 discount to an iPad instead. Have you been to many stores that offer this?

          • @dogsryummy:

The issue is converting converting an item-specific voucher into a universal voucher (that can even be used to pay for gift cards!).

i don't see any problems with with an item-specific voucher into a COMPENSATION universal voucher,
dude u have to ASK for it ! so it is a compensation not an auto refund!

This is the equivalent of buying a sofa for $500 off, returning the sofa, and asking whether you can apply the $500 discount to an iPad instead. Have you been to many stores that offer this?

yes if they ar offering you COMPENSATIONs then you could using that $500 discount to an iPad,
technically all stores would offer compensation, but of coz you won't get anything if you don't ask !

even if they don't offer you a compensation, most of the time they will offer you discounts on simular sofa.
here is the thing, we didn't ask for a "universal voucher" !
ebay just offering us one ! im happy to take the $40 discount on other adidas shoes (or $500 of simular sofa), but they just offer me a "universal voucher"…what should i do ?

      • Pity these billion dollar companies aren't morally obliged to pay their fair share of taxes and avoid profit shifting.

Why is it always the little guy who gets held to account?

    • +2

I got same reply. Looks like they aren't giving vouchers anymore

      • Same

      • Probably got a slack memo lol

  • Still most of my orders are alive .

    • So you're not converting it to $40 vouchers then?

      • Looks like the guys have killed that one off now .

  • +1

My three orders still not cancelled this morning.

  • +1

So I asked Adidas why my order was cancelled as there was no issue with my postal address.

    This was their response:

    Hi,

    Thank you for your enquiry.

We apologise for the delayed response, we are currently experiencing an increase on enquiries.

We regret to inform you that your order has been cancelled due to inventory issues wherein the item you purchased is no longer available at the warehouse. We highly suggest our customer to purchase an item that doesn't say, "Low in Stock" or "Only few left in Stock" as there is a possibility that it would end up being cancelled due to availability.

We have requested for the refund to be posted to your account. Once completed, it would only take 1-2 business days to be refunded to your Paypal account.

We appreciate your patience and understanding. Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Cheers

At this point it'sd not about free shoes, its about an ebay seller selling items they clearly do not have
Got the same email. This is my response:

      Hi there

"We regret to inform you that your order has been cancelled due to inventory issues wherein the item you purchased is no longer available at the warehouse."

This is a bullshit answer, as there were multiple of this item in stock, and it did not say "low in stock" when i purchased the item.

Further, the reason for cancellation was "issue with buyer address" not "we don't have the stock" - pretty sure this is a blatant lie, and against Ebay's TOS.

"We highly suggest our customer to purchase an item that doesn't say, "Low in Stock" or "Only few left in Stock" as there is a possibility that it would end up being cancelled due to availability."

As i said, these items were not low in stock when purchased.

Will be reporting the store to Ebay, in the hopes that you will be removed from the site for selling Items you do not actually have - as you have stated below.

      • i haven't received this,
u contacted them or u left them a negg feedback right ?

        • I contacted them and they replied with that.

According to them, we shouldn't order low stock items from them.
          So it's our fault.

        • seems like they have a generic reply for everyone saying we shouldnt buy low stock items.
So i replied with what i said above. see what they say

          • @tabboo: to be honest i don't blame them,
they got over 3k stocks in total, they didn't cancel all my orders so i assume most of the stocks ar real.
they just didn't expect the price error and ppl rush to "buy" like this.

            • @samelight: canceled all mine

              • @eckers19: 2/3 were canceled for me, the fist order still alive(11:42am).
i think any orders after 11:50 ar most likely to get canceled.

                • @samelight: My order from 11:47am is still active, so fingers crossed.

                  • @poko: They just will not cancel or send since you paid $0

                    • @Veebee88: Yeah, hopefully mate.

                    • @Veebee88: if they don't cancel then they have to send and provide tracking coz they ar with ebay plus,
otherwise ppl could open a case and appeal, with 3k cases their ebay and paypal accounts will get locked straight the way.
also even we paid $0, seller still get the $40 from ebay if they send out something.
