Had a look at Australia, seems only Cairns (Reef Lounge) and Melbourne (United Lounge) are available

Well after sussing, its $39 USD for a once of visit to say the united lounge. For an unfrequent international traveller i'd rather just use the once off…

might be a good deal for others maybe, but its limited lounges…

  • The first time I saw Priority Pass on Ozbargain (the 25% off offer a couple of weeks ago), it looked to me like the Standard Membership was a misdirection designed to make the other two options look better. According to Priority Pass website, the Melbourne United lounge is only open for limited hours each day, or when United flights are around. The best value here is if you travel at least as far as Asia, quite a few times a year.

Domestic Virgin Lounges were also taken off some times last year. I saw my CEO arrive at the airport for a domestic flight and thought I'd be able to introduce myself at the lounge (just presumed he'd have access :p ). However, when i got to the counter with my PP card, I was informed that they were no longer accepting it :(

I have one as part of my Amex membership and it admittedly has been awesome so far having used it across Asia and domestically (cost USD$25 to bring a guest in with you though).

      • I was so bummed when they took Virgin Lounges off the PP program because I travel a lot domestically. At least AMEX struck a deal with Cathay that gave platinum members automatic gold status in Asia Miles, which means you can use Qantas Club as a Sapphire One World member. But this only lasts for one year, unless you requalify. =/

  • I've been using Priority Pass some years but never seen United Lounge open. Kinda mysterious place.

It used to work for Qantas lounge as well if you take domestic flight but looks like they are now out of options.

Looks like its the United Airlines / Air New Zealand lounge @ Tullamarine (Melbourne).

    • Qantas Club has never been part of the PP program (unfortunately). When the (Virgin) Lounge used to be included you could TRAVEL on Qantas (or any other airline for that matter) and still use Virgin's lounge, but there was never the option to use Qantas Club. However, in some international airports there are SOME shared One World lounges that are included, but definitely nothing domestically within Australia… Maybe you got lucky and one of the Qantas Dragons let you in when you flashed your card, but they would have been mistaken to do so. ;)

  • If you were upgraded to Signature cards by Citibank recently, then you can get free membership with 2 free visits (for yourself) a year.

    • Free standard membership ($99) is a bit of a joke. After your free two visits, you'll be paying entry fees close to the one-off admission price. At least with AMEX platinum charge card you get free prestige membership ($399) with unlimited free visits (for one person) all year.

      • But you pay aud 1200 annual fee for the amex charge card
