  • how do i build the best budget system to play dota 2. i use invoker, rubicks, pudge, meepo, earth spirit, void spirit, and elder titan.

    • DOTA 2 runs at like 120 FPS on weak laptops, right?

Basically any old PC will do for DOTA. Get this mobo and a 3200g, and you won't even need a separate GPU. Your total budget can be not much more than $600.

But will you play any other games ever?

  • Must resist!

  • I'm about to do a new 5600x or 5800x build. I'm totally out of the game right now…is there any point getting an expensive mobo? I would only get 1 x m.2 drive + could get a wireless pcie card. Would get something like a 3070 or 3080 as well.

    TIA

    • +1

If you don't need PCIe gen 4 support, nor have the need to run 6 SATA ports + 2 m.2 SSDs, then this is a cost effective choice for a 5600x or 5800x build.

      • Thanks! The only thing this doesn't have is wifi. Considering I'd have to buy a wifi adapter, maybe it's better getting this which has one included. What do you think :D

        • Wifi adaptor. Done. love this mobo, been going great.

@G-rig: Okay I bought the board. Time to find a 5600x, 3080, 32gb ram and 1tb nvme dealllll

            • @Ilikecars: Sounds like a great setup. I'm using a 3060 Super and still going fine

  • Does using the m.2 disables the SATA ports. This is what I found out with the ASUS TUF 450m board. But it had 6 SATA ports and using both m.2 ports disable 4 of them

    • No, because this one only has 4 SATA ports, not 6.

  • Nice, will be a good upgrade from my old Haswell Build. Nothing wrong with the current rig, just want to have something that future proof, considering Windows 11 doesn't "support" Haswell era architecture.

  • BTW How are MSI Motherboard in terms of reliability. I've had ASUS, ASRock and Gigabyte, but surprisingly never owned anything from MSI.

    • MSI is a very solid brand. I've also got an MSI RTX2060 Super.

  • Using this one for about a year now. The mobo has some ugly red LEDs, but you can disable them using Dragon Center, MSI's custom software.
