    That's an old phone

    min plan $45pm

    quick search G8 is $174 @ tgg

    1 X $12 = $12
    $45 X $12 = $540
    = $552 for 20GB plan & entry mobile

Ouch, when you spell it out like that.

      • +1

Even moreso when you look at the fact it's been around, and in several cases under, a hundred bucks for a while too.

    • +3

remember when phones were $0 and you only had to pay for the service? now it is considered a deal when you have to pay handset repayments on a budget phone.

    • +2

Optus starting to behave more like Telstra.

  • +1

I can't imagine anyone buying into this deal.

  • Nice gps tracker, nvm monthly plans a deal breaker

  • +1

what kind of black magic forced you to post the deal, lol

  • +2

Misleading title. Minimum plan is $45 pm.
Go elsewhere for a better phone and deal.

  • 🤯

  • $1 for phone on top of $45 plan.. lol

  • Sorry .. not a deal. its misleading.

  • +2

I thought we’d gotten past the days of a free phone on an overpriced plan, I guess Optus is getting all retro.

    big telco's really suck…

1 minute they seem to understand that More data = literally 0 extra cost to them, and significantly happier customers
next minute they deal out this crap…

  • Decent phone on a ridiculous plan.

  • This phone was $97 outright and unlocked early June at Officeworks.

  • got this phone from target $75 for the kids a few months ago. can only upgrade to android 10. cpu old and slow. overall not bad specs as a starter phone for a kid. IMO you are better off buying it own right and getting a prepaid plan.

  • the A12 with 128GB ram and android 11 for $2. Includes a USB-C cable for charging. it would have been a better deal but its out of stock

  • Optus has a deal running up until 22/08/2021, where if you bring in an additional service (Sim only plan), you get 50% off the monthly plan. $22.50 + $1 for 12 months is a fantastic deal imho.

    • So for existing customer only?

      • Yes that is correct, the deal appears on the Optus app
