Maxi Dolly Trolley $19.99 @ ALDI

230

Don't know about y'all but I'm pretty sure these trolleys which are great for moving big (rated 250kg) stuff, usually cost a lot more than this.

Tiny so it doesn't take up too much space too.

Spotted in Melb CBD Aldi's.

Edit: if Bunnings is easier for you, they have these trolleys sold at $14.99 all year round! Thanks smartinet (and the others) for sharing about it :D

I'd be impressed if you can skate on this!

        • You know that's just going to invite the 'challenge accepted' crowd.

The Bunnings ones are garbage. I'm a tiler, we use these dolly trolleys to stack tiles on when laying a floor so you pull the stack with you as you lay them.

Bunnings trolley wheels are crap and seem to have a mind of their own and won't roll where you want them to go, whereas the Aldi ones which we have used for years are still going strong.

      I'd highly recommend these.

The reviews are pretty bad for the Bunning's el cheapo dolly. A couple have mentioned that the grooves on the wheels scratches up wooden floorboards

        • You need rubber wheels for timber floors. A lot of the castors in Bunnings are hard polyurethane and totally unsuitable.

Anyone know what the Aldi ones are made of?

Bunnings trolleys are free all year round, you can find them in car park. And if you intend return it later technically it's not stealing.

      • You will of course have to pay the hire fee for a trailer to carry them home.

I recently built a workbench and looked at mobility options which wouldn't compromise stability when not in use; didn't want it rocking about on locking wheels, for example.

Bought a couple of these and designed the lower rail width and height to match.
They work well; just lift one leg with a prybar and roll a dolly under.

They're not awesome quality wheels (you'd probably want something softer on, for example, wooden floors) but fine for trundling things around the garage or driveway.

Been happy with my Aldi ones and the Aldi swivel wheel sets are also excellent value.

  • These were $15 last year at Aldi. Covid inflation.

The Aldi ones seem to have a coating.
I've got a Bunnings one, mould loves growing on it.

The wheels on the Bunnings one are too far inbound. Any load not totally centred tips it over. Waste of money.

    • which bunnings one, a few been posted cheaper

    • I got one of the generic syneco branded ones from Bunnings. (I think that's how it's spelt)
They had a pallet load of em near the front when I bought them..
I thought it was just me being a total clutz and not knowing how to use such a simple thing.

That's exactly what happened with mine.

  • Y'all.
    Really?

Yeah my spidery senses are telling me that this is not a bargain or good product and that you are overpaying for an inferior product.

Unfortunately my spidery senses aren't telling me what else to buy instead in the meantime.

    So rip to spidery senses.

Cbb to change it from spidery senses to spidey senses.

    Ah well.

    Such is life.
